“Why monitor Eastern Xia?”

Li Mu stared at Shen Xingyu’s face, and under the Divine Eye Technique, any subtle muscle changes could not escape his observation.

“I don’t know. I’m just a small fry, only responsible for carrying out orders.”

Shen Xingyu’s face was devoid of any color, pale as if he were a corpse.

“You think that because you don’t feel pain, I can’t deal with you?”

As Li Mu spoke, he took out a water bottle and poured Sun Spring water into Shen Xingyu’s mouth.

Shen Xingyu felt a surge of warmth flow into his mouth. The tissues and cells where the warmth passed through revived like the seeds of early spring grass. Soon, his heart began to beat strongly again.

“Ah!”

He let out a heart-wrenching scream, his mutilated body rolling in the mud, and the wounds that had stopped bleeding began to gush blood again.

“Now, tell me, why are you monitoring Eastern Xia?”

Li Mu clenched his head like a vise, gradually tightening.

“You… you’re a spy for Eastern Xia?!”

Shen Xingyu’s eyes were bloodshot, staring ferociously at Li Mu, in so much pain he felt like he couldn’t bear it any longer, as if his skull was about to be crushed.

“So, tell me, what are you up to, and what are your plans?”

Li Mu said coldly.

Shen Xingyu’s body convulsed violently, as if he were an epileptic. His remaining hands were tense, and his fingers constantly flexed. His eyes rolled up, showing only the whites.

“Haha, haha, they’re here, they’re here. Eastern Xian, do you think you’ve won? You’re as good as dead, I’m telling you, you’re as good as dead!”

Li Mu tightened his grip, making Shen Xingyu’s skull creak. Shen Xingyu could even clearly hear the sound of his own skull cracking.

The recently implanted Danger Intuition was warning him frantically, even more intensely than before he detonated the high-energy explosives.

He pushed the Divine Eye Technique and the Illusion Breaker Eyes to their limits but couldn’t see any traces of enemies.

Just a few seconds later, Li Mu suddenly felt a strange fluctuation – it was the Source Ocean! Before he could identify the direction of the fluctuation, a massive object burst out of a nearby large puddle.

The vehicle, approximately forty meters long, was transformed from some enormous creature. The creature’s scales were fixed with psychic metal-forged keel, presenting a sturdy matte color due to the complex processing.

The hatch, made of some sort of resin, was lightweight and durable, capable of isolating source essence, preventing detection by dangerous beings in the Source Ocean. The hatch reflected a gray glow under the sunlight, making it impossible to see the situation inside the vehicle from the outside.

“This is the descender’s landing craft.”

Li Mu recognized what it was at once. The distance within the Source Ocean is not equivalent to the space in the real universe. The more densely populated an area is with intelligent life forms, the more expansive the corresponding space within the Source Ocean. In uninhabited areas, like space and uninhabited planets, the corresponding space in the Source Ocean is akin to a speck of dust.

Through this method, once the destination coordinates are known, interstellar travel can be achieved quickly via specially designed vehicles through the Source Ocean.

The landing craft is the smallest vehicle of the descenders. Some powerful descenders can even construct colossal motherships that are several kilometers long, capable of deploying hundreds of thousands of troops from settled planets to Earth in one go.

Before the Child of Plutonium ascended into the sky, massive motherships would often surface from the Source Ocean, decimating small countries with overwhelming force and abducting the population as livestock.

The human joint fleet, due to its advantage in mobility, could only assume a passive defense, exhausted from constant invasion.

“So, not only did you collude with the Raginbeards, but you also conspired with the descenders.”

Li Mu’s expression grew solemn.

The concentration of radiation in the air did not decrease immediately after the rainy season, but instead continued to drop with the change in climate. Some descenders with higher radiation tolerance could land on Earth before the rainy season, albeit with weakened abilities.

Moreover, this place was a vast swamp. Due to the lack of cover, the radioactive dust was easily blown away by the wind during the dry season.

Shen Xingyu glared at Li Mu resentfully, his face revealing a satisfied expression. He shouted loudly at the hovercraft in a strange and convoluted language.

Li Mu crushed his head halfway through the shout, shook off the filth on his hand, and retrieved the Blade of Annihilation from the Exile Realm.

The hatch of the landing craft opened. Li Mu counted twenty-seven descenders, along with fifteen ferocious and robust large beasts of burden, and one giant flying creature.

“Spathena race.”

At first glance, Li Mu recognized the race of these descenders. They resembled humanoid lizards that had evolved, covered in rock-like, tough scales, with a bulky build, a neck almost as thick as their head, and a short, flat tail.

Their flat, sturdy heads had elongated snouts that occupied most of their faces. Some Spathena opened their mouths, revealing rows of sharp teeth and thick tongues.

The Spathena civilization had long been conquered by the Olden Day Rulers. They could adapt to the environments of most life-sustaining planets, with tenacious vitality and astonishing speed.

They bred rapidly, with Spathena juveniles reaching full maturity in just twelve years. They were abundant in source essence, had above-average affinity for psychic energy, and could domesticate psychic creatures on Spathena Star for combat.

They served as the vanguard for the Olden Day Rulers when invading a planet. The human alliance had also engaged in several brutal battles with the Spathena race.

Upon witnessing Shen Xingyu’s head crushed, the Spathena race let out an angry roar. Fifteen knights mounted the Velerna giant lizards on the landing craft, preparing to charge at Li Mu. Simultaneously, long-range casters from the shaping energy system activated their psychic powers, ready to attack.

Li Mu opted for a preemptive strike, swiftly drawing his railgun and channeling an immense amount of psychic energy into it. He was unwilling to witness the chaos that would ensue if these cavalrymen charged.

Ordinary railguns posed no threat to these descenders shrouded in a Dark Membrane, but those enhanced with Aichiyafa’s runic inscriptions were an entirely different matter.

He pulled the trigger.

Arcs of electricity danced, and under the propulsion of the railgun, a bullet instantly fired from the barrel.

A Spathena warrior wielded a long staff and struck it forcefully on the deck of the landing craft. A translucent force field enveloped the hovercraft.

“Boom!”

A fierce, blue flame instantly engulfed the force field, the scorching heat causing the air to crackle and snap.

Before the flames dissipated, a sharp blade cut through the force field. Li Mu pushed his psychic energy to the limits his body could withstand, and like a cannonball, he charged onto the landing craft.

“Bang!”

The immense hovercraft swayed violently due to the impact, and despite their battle-hardened experience, the Spathena warrior couldn’t help but feel disoriented.
