Angel didn’t overthink as much as Sanders had expected. He didn’t dwell on whether the timing was right or optimal. These cumbersome thoughts had been cast aside by him. All his attention and energy were focused on the internal transformations taking place.

For the sake of achieving a breakthrough sooner, Angel had undergone a lengthy preparation period.

Though this attempt at a breakthrough was somewhat unexpected, when the time came, all the information and images from his previous preparations flashed through his mind——one by one.

“The Spirit Concentrating Scroll can last for another minute. In this minute, try to harmonize all the balances within your body, reach the optimal state, and then make a breakthrough,” Sanders said, swiftly tearing a rift in space.

Black Castle wasn’t an ideal location for a breakthrough.

It wasn’t because there were outsiders present that might interfere with Angel’s progress. Instead, Black Castle was located in the Inner World, characterized by its dense and highly active primal magic.

Even a formal wizard had to tread carefully while meditating in the Inner World to avoid being overwhelmed by the primal magic. Especially when Angel’s breakthrough process involves absorbing more primal magic than during meditation. If affected by the environment leading to a failed breakthrough, it would truly be a calamity for no reason.

In Fairytale World’s three-layered world, the Outer World has the lowest concentration of primal magic, so it’s out of consideration. The magic of the Inner World is too volatile, even to the point of aggressiveness, so it’s also dismissed.

Therefore, the ideal place for a breakthrough lies in the Middle World, situated between the two.

After pinpointing the coordinates, Sanders directly transported Angel to the Middle World.

As Sanders pierced through the air and departed, furrowed brows became the prevalent expression amongst some inhabitants of Black Castle.

Owing to the surface structures of Black Castle being laid to ruin, a vast number of witches and apprentices have now been dispatched to the ground level. Some are there to discuss the reconstruction of the remnants of the castle, while others, primarily apprentices, have been tasked with scouring the ruins for salvageable materials, striving to ensure that no further damage ensues in the rebuild.

At the helm of the restoration effort stands Isabella, her visage pale and demeanor seemingly frail.

Isabella was actively engaged in dialogues with the witches below, elucidating her plans for the castle’s rebirth. But mid-discussion, her brow furrowed deeply in frustration.

“Such audacity and recklessness to tear a rift right in the Soul Domain!” Isabella exclaimed, her gaze directed downwards, her visage clouded with displeasure. The atmosphere around her, once marked by calm breathing, now reverberated with high-pitched screams.

What Sanders did was tantamount to a guest abruptly breaking the host’s door and storming out without so much as a word.

It wasn’t just disrespectful, in Isabella’s eyes; it was an act of sheer insolence!

The other witches present also detected the pronounced spatial disturbance, their expressions a unanimous portrait of indignation. It was evident that none held Sanders’ recent actions in favorable regard.

With a swift motion, Isabella was on the verge of venturing into the Soul Domain.

Yet, at that very moment, a figure appeared before her — Kimberley, distinguished by her enchanting forest crown.

Kimberley’s countenance was stern, yet unlike Isabella’s, hers held a glint of both surprise and bewilderment.

“Why do you bar my path? Black Castle has yet to formally bond in alliance with Phantom Island. Or have you already decided to align yourself with them?” Isabella inquired, her eyes cold and piercing.

Kimberly: “Forming a friendship is one thing, but I wouldn’t blame Lord Phantom Master for this.”

Isabella: “You wouldn’t blame him? He directly tore open a rift in the Soul Domain. If not him, would you blame Black Castle?”

Isabella’s words, combined with her inherent dual-toned shouts of anger, looked full of momentum. Her words also made other wizards nod in agreement.

Some even maliciously wondered whether Lady Kimberly, who hadn’t returned for many years, had truly grown distant from Black Castle as Isabella suspected.

Just as the atmosphere became stagnant, a figure emanating cold indifference appeared nearby.

“Isabella, what Kimberly said is true.”

Isabella looked up and realized that the newcomer was none other than Mentor Isabelle.

Facing her mentor, Isabella’s fierce demeanor evidently weakened, and her tone softened, yet there was still a hint of resentment in her voice: “But he clearly broke the rules!”

Isabelle silently observed Isabella. After a moment, she said softly, “Has your perception deteriorated so much?”

Isabella paused, not understanding what the mentor meant. Isabelle continued, “Sanders’ actions were indeed unintentional.”

“Why?” This was not only Isabella’s question but also the doubt of other wizards present.

“The Heavenly Coeur Wind,” Kimberly said nonchalantly. “Have you forgotten? The Heavenly Coeur Wind has significant benefits for you. Can you imagine the changes in Angel, who is constantly under the influence of Heavenly Coeur Wind?”

What kind of changes would occur to Angel? Recalling Angel’s realm, it seemed he had reached the peak of apprenticeship. If the Heavenly Coeur Wind caused his magic source to expand… Isabella suddenly looked up, disbelief in her eyes, “Are you saying Angel is preparing for a breakthrough?!”

Kimberly nodded slightly.

Isabelle’s gaze pierced the void, seemingly seeing beyond the rolling dark clouds to the situation in the Middle World. With a hint of melancholy reflection, she whispered, “Now, do you understand why he tore through the fabric of space to leave this place?”

Isabella remained silent, acknowledging internally that she might have made the same choice if faced with a similar situation. It’s not a choice that can be judged too harshly.

However, upon knowing the truth, Isabella’s heart wasn’t filled with enlightenment but rather skepticism, disbelief, followed by anger, jealousy, and indignation.

Seeing Isabella’s mood darken, Isabelle sighed inwardly and whispered, “I hoped after everything that transpired, you might’ve changed. It seems there’s still a long journey ahead for you.”

Snapping out of her thoughts, Isabella lowered her head, murmuring, “I’m just surprised.”

Isabelle chose not to respond. She too was taken aback, but her surprise was free from jealousy; it was mixed with wonder and reflection. When she first met Angel, he was just a naive young boy. Yet, in just a few short years, he had come so far.

His rapid progress and achievements were perhaps unparalleled in the Southern Region for the last millennium.

He might even rival some of the prodigious wizards of the Source World.

If Angel truly manages to advance, such a young formal wizard might be renowned in the Source World. Not to mention, his prowess in alchemy still stands out.

However, all these speculations hinge on Angel’s successful breakthrough.

At this moment, while everyone’s emotions varied, a common question rose in their hearts:

“Can he break through successfully?”

Angel, however, was unaware of the sentiments of the residents of Black Castle.

At this moment, his position in the Middle World was not far from the Living Soul Garden. The path he took when he had stealthily infiltrated Black Castle with Shadow was precisely this one.

Above him was a dome that shielded the creatures of the Middle World.

The concentration of primal magic power was high and incredibly stable, making it an ideal location for a breakthrough.

Without needing a reminder from Sanders, Angel sensed the diminishing effects of the Spirit Concentrating Scroll. Without hesitation, he took out the Spirit Agility Potion and poured it directly into his mouth, entering the breakthrough phase with his eyes closed.

Seeing Angel’s actions, Sanders didn’t speak further. He leaped hundreds of meters away, silently awaiting the outcome.

Though the Spirit Agility Potion is like a liquid, once it touched his throat, it transformed into a refreshing energy. It felt like a sip of cold water on a sweltering summer day — not chilling, but rather invigorating.

This rejuvenating energy didn’t linger within Angel. Instead, it slowly climbed to his head, entering the vast expanse of his sea of consciousness.

Previously, Angel only dared to observe the mental space, hesitant to engage with his sea of consciousness because of its extreme instability during the breakthrough phase. It had been stabilized by the fluctuations of the Spirit Concentrating Scroll.

Now, with the assistance of the Spirit Agility Potion, Angel dared to glimpse the mysteries of the sea of consciousness.

Angel had previously sensed chaos in the sea of consciousness, like the rise and fall of tides. Upon this examination, he found the sea of consciousness was as he had imagined. It was not only in chaos, but there were also signs of fragmentation.

If one were to liken the sea of consciousness to a true vast sea, at this moment, the sea of consciousness would resemble a seascape tormented by hurricanes and ceaseless quakes. Even the term “raging waves” falls short of capturing the tumultuous undulations of this vast expanse. Its turbulence surpasses even the illusions found within the Rhythm of the Ocean.

It’s like an apocalypse.

Under the influence of such a chaotic sea of consciousness, it’s likely that anyone would suffer from dizziness, throbbing headaches, and mental disarray.

Even formal wizards aren’t immune.

This is precisely why there’s a need for the Spirit Agility Potion.

The use of the Spirit Agility Potion marks the first phase in a wizard’s breakthrough. This phase is crucial because, during the breakthrough, the sea of consciousness remains in a constant state of expansion, and this expansive state continues until the breakthrough concludes.

Once the sea of consciousness enters this expansive state, it becomes as chaotic as the current situation.

At this juncture, the changes in the sea of consciousness directly influence a wizard’s cognitive capabilities. The role of the Spirit Agility Potion becomes evident here, as it can shield the cognitive process from the sea of consciousness’s disturbances.

After using the Spirit Agility Potion, one can temporarily set aside the expansion of the sea of consciousness and focus solely on the breakthrough.

Furthermore, the Spirit Agility Potion is merely a supportive aid and doesn’t participate in the expansion of the sea of consciousness, ensuring that its usage doesn’t impact an individual’s potential.

For this reason, the Spirit Agility Potion is something every apprentice prepares for when approaching a breakthrough.

When the cool, soothing energy of the Spirit Agility Potion caressed his sea of consciousness, Angel distinctly felt as though his chaotic sea of consciousness was separated by a membrane. While waves of discomfort continued to surge, they no longer impacted his cognitive abilities.
