“Do you have any doubts now?” Angel did not wait for Popoca to regain consciousness on his own, but directly awakened him.
Faced with Angel’s inquiry, Popoca’s thinking was still somewhat rigid and slow, and it took him a while to come around.
The questions he had wanted to ask before were basically answered when Angel threw out these pieces of information. However, there were still some details that Popoca could not yet comprehend. But these minor issues would eventually find their answers, so there was no need to bring them up now.
“I have many doubts, but they are not important right now,” Popoca said after pondering for a moment. “What I want to know most right now is… do I still have a chance to see my sister again?”
After asking this, Popoca’s eyes showed both timidity and a faint hint of hope.
For him, the dream of revitalizing the Laudsourcian tribe had already settled down with the death of his physical body. It hadn’t disappeared, just temporarily put aside.
What he cared about most now was only his sister, the person to whom he owed the most and whom he had wronged the most.
When Popoca died, he thought he would never see his sister again, but Angel’s description of the Wilderness of Dreams uncovered the vibrant red color in his heart, which had been covered in dust.
Popoca’s fervent gaze fixed on Angel.
After a few seconds of silence, Angel smiled lightly: “There is still a chance. But when it will come is hard to say.”
Upon hearing this answer, Popoca did not show any sign of regret, but instead took a long breath: “As long as there’s a chance, that’s good.”
His greatest fear was not having an opportunity, but now Angel had personally admitted it, there was still a chance for him to see Sparrow Blossom in the future. Even if the chances were slim, it at least allowed Popoca’s heart, which had been buried in despair, to sprout vines named hope once more.
With hope, Popoca’s entire demeanor changed as if transformed. Sweeping away his previous gloom, he whispered softly, “As long as I can see my sister again, even just once, I’m willing to give my all.”
Angel said, “There’s no need to give everything, and it’s not of value. Just work hard at your job, and perhaps the opportunity will come naturally.”
Popoca knelt on the ground, “Please arrange a job for me, my lord!”
Angel replied, “Continue with your current job. Do whatever Jon, my mentor, has arranged for you.”
Popoca had heard from Jon that he was Angel’s mentor and had some disbelief. But now, with Angel personally confirming Jon’s identity, Popoca had no more doubts.
“The time is almost up. If you have any doubts, you can ask Freud,” Angel paused, “Freud is my right-hand man, his words also represent my intentions, you can trust him completely.”
Popoca nodded, bowed to Freud hesitantly, and after a moment of hesitation, asked, “How should I address you, Freud, or… Master Tyson?”
Freud, however, waved his hand, “Just call me Freud, no need for formalities. We are equals, both loyal servants of our lord, there’s no need for a hierarchy.”
“But…”
Angel didn’t continue listening to the conversation between Freud and Popoca and walked outside.
While Angel was conversing with Popoca, he was actually distractedly observing the situation at Pat Manor. He noticed that Sanders, after two days of seclusion, finally emerged from his study and was now standing on the balcony, seemingly experimenting with some spell.
Seeing Sanders appear, Angel didn’t hesitate and immediately turned to leave Azure Tower, preparing to meet Sanders.
Instead of walking over, Angel manipulated the ‘Celestial Cycle’ power through the Power Tree. Riding a gust of wind, he flew towards Pat Manor.
As the sky grew darker, Angel’s flight over the town didn’t attract the attention of the residents.
Contrarily, he caught the eye of a pair of intense red eyes.
Initially focused on Pat Manor, Angel was startled by a cry and then a white figure rushed into his arms.
Startled, he looked down to find Toby, vigorously rubbing against him.
Hovering in mid-air, Angel pulled Toby out of his embrace. Toby chirped and wriggled in Angel’s palm, showing off his clothing.
Hmm… a white silkworm outfit.
Toby excitedly displayed his new attire. Angel could tell that Toby must have had a blast in Initial Heart City over the past few days, even changing his clothes.
“Who made this for you?” Angel curiously asked.
Toby pointed towards the distance.
Following the direction of Toby’s wing, Angel looked and saw two people on the roof of a small building in the distance. One of them, wearing a horned helmet, was vigorously waving at Angel.
The person in question is undoubtedly Tulas. Standing next to Tulas is a woman cloaked in a black cape, covering most of her face. It appears that she wants to leave but is tightly held by the wrist by Tulas.
Angel, accompanied by Toby, flew over. Tulas immediately greeted them with a smile, offering Angel various unreliable suggestions.
Angel casually responded with a few words, brushing Tulas off.
Then, Angel’s gaze shifted to the cloaked woman. Upon seeing Angel, she snorted coldly and turned her head away without a word.
“Did you make these clothes for Toby?” Angel asked.
The cloaked woman didn’t respond. Instead, Tulas said, “Yes, I never imagined Mandara to be such a skilled tailor. She made a caterpillar costume, so lifelike!”
“It’s a silkworm baby… not a caterpillar,” the cloaked woman corrected, unable to help herself from correcting Tulas despite her reluctance to engage with Angel.
“It’s basically the same!” Tulas replied nonchalantly.
The cloaked woman is the former princess of Guman from Black Castle——Mandara. After Angel brought her into the Wilderness of Dreams, he didn’t pay much attention to her. She was a woman completely immersed in hatred, and even though she was subdued, the hatred remained in her heart.
Angel didn’t have the time for psychological counseling and simply left her in the Wilderness of Dreams, allowing her to interact with more ordinary people, hoping to gradually change Mandara’s personality.
Indeed, the effect was noticeable. At least, from Angel’s perspective, Mandara now seemed more like a ‘person’, contrasting her initial resistance and gloominess upon first entering the Wilderness of Dreams.
Moreover… Angel turned his gaze to Tulas. He learned from Freud that Mandara’s quick change was due to her becoming Tulas’s assistant.
It seems, Angel pondered, perhaps an innocent and sweet personality is best suited to counter natural darkness.
Mandara still seems to hold some animosity towards Angel. This is understandable, as she believes that Angel has disrupted her plans for revenge.
“Nicely done with the clothes,” Angel commented softly, choosing not to engage further in conversation. Instead, he patted Toby on the head and said, “I’m about to leave. Do you want to come back with me, or would you prefer to stay in Initial Heart City?”
Toby, upon learning that Angel was returning to reality while he would continue to immerse himself in learning, hesitated not a moment before shaking his head.
Compared to the dull and tedious study room in reality, this place was far more entertaining, especially after the arrival of the Dream Plant Fairy, which added to the liveliness.
Toby had befriended a singing-loving Dream Plant Fairy, but sadly, they couldn’t communicate. If only they could, he would have asked her to sew a garment for him…
Once Toby’s decision to stay was clear, Angel bid them farewell and left without hesitation.
Mandara, standing beside Tulas, watched Angel’s figure disappear into the horizon, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes. However, this emotion quickly vanished as Tulas suddenly pulled her and leaped off the rooftop!
“You’re jumping off buildings again!! Don’t use your scythe for landing! If you break the floor, you’ll have to pay for it!” Mandara exclaimed in shock.
But Tulas didn’t care, cheekily responding, “I’m not paying. Freud can’t catch me anyway!”
“And besides, Toby’s here!” Tulas pointed out, glancing at Toby, who seemed to be enjoying the flight: “Freud wouldn’t dare to fine us!”
Mandara took a deep breath, wanting to roll her eyes, but ultimately remained silent, letting Tulas pull her to the ground…
