After leaving the Ocean Theatre, Angel walked along the path towards the Pat Estate.
When Angel pushed open the door to the study and saw Sanders, he was sitting at the desk, eyes closed and motionless.
However, it was only his physical form that was still; around him, there was a vortex of energy being generated, led by illusion nodes.
Around Sanders, illusions continuously came to life and then faded: one moment there was a towering Mother Tree piercing the clouds, the next, a variety of Dream Plant Fairies, then a vast forest stretching to the horizon, and then an endless barren wilderness…
It was incredibly splendid, taking a basic trick and playing it with the texture of a spell.
Yes, Angel could tell at a glance it was a basic illusion, a fundamental trick.
But Sanders was playing with this basic illusion in a way that made it seem like he was brewing a powerful spell.
Now, Angel could also make basic illusions seem as real as true mirages. But to casually create and extinguish countless illusions like Sanders did, Angel still lacked a bit of skill.
After about two minutes, the vortex of illusions around Sanders began to slowly fade away, and he finally opened his eyes.
After opening his eyes, Sanders nodded at Angel, indicating to wait a moment. He then used his mental power to pick up a pen and started using a recording spell. The floating pen began to move on its own, swiftly Writing Rows of Text on the blank paper.
Sanders then looked up and asked, “I just saw Tree Spirit hurriedly going to the venue and whispering to Lord Rhine. Was it because you solved the mystery of the ruins?”
Angel remarked, “The puzzle remains unsolved; I’m still in the fog. However, I’ve confirmed that there must be a hidden room within the ruins.”
Then, Angel shared how he restored the rune on the door and revealed a three-dimensional map. He enhanced the explanation with an illusion, allowing Sanders to see it more directly.
After listening, Sanders felt a bit sentimental, “No wonder Tizarro referred to the study as a bedroom; there’s indeed more to the story.”
Following his reflection, Sanders also felt a slight regret. Indeed, as Angel mentioned, although they have now confirmed the existence of a hidden room, there’s little progress. Even knowing the hidden room is adjacent to the study doesn’t necessarily mean the entrance is there.
“If progress was quantifiable, and we were at 0% before discovering the three-dimensional map, then with it, we might have advanced to 1%. The map merely informs us of the room’s existence; finding the actual entrance is up to us. Our progress is almost unchanged, as we were already certain of the room’s existence.”
“I’ll take a look at the map later, hoping for some progress.”
After finishing, Sanders steered the conversation toward discussing the Bud, having been informed of the conversation between Director Muse and Angel. The topic unfolded from there.
Essentially, what Sanders discussed was much in line with what Angel was thinking.
Since the various wizard organizations in the Southern Region had discovered the movements of the Bud through the Star Observing Day, before it had poisoned the wizard community, eliminating these followers would be much simpler.
Once all the wizard organizations unite and officially launch a removal campaign against the Bud, the followers, preoccupied with the war, won’t have time to consider Angel.
When the Bud’s enemies encompass the whole world, why would they particularly notice one inconspicuous person in it?
Once the war begins, Angel no longer needs to lay low.
After Sanders shared his thoughts, Angel revealed some of his own perspectives, aligning remarkably with Sanders’. Appreciation in his eyes, Sanders remarked, “It seems that in terms of crisis awareness, you are gradually becoming more like a wizard.”
Knowing now of Angel’s broad foresight, Sanders chose not to elaborate further.
As the conversation dwindled, a pen, writing automatically on a notepad, happened to ‘clink’ onto the table.
With a glance, Angel, utilizing his remarkable memory, nearly captured the entire message.
Sanders, not intending to keep these notes private, didn’t bother to conceal them. Thus, Angel, despite seeing the content, felt no great guilt.
The notepad detailed Sanders’ progress in constructing the Virtual Magic Power framework based on his experience with illusions.
The lengthy report, filled with technical details, primarily discussed the current energy system’s flaws and the misconceptions needing correction after the system’s upgrade.
The conclusion stated: “Virtual Magic Power framework construction is 78% complete, with an upgrade anticipated in five days.”
Though much of the content was beyond Angel’s understanding, the final point was clear. It seemed that in five days, Sanders would significantly upgrade the basic framework, allowing for more Virtual Magic in the mental space and enabling higher-level spells, beyond the current scope of level 0 and basic spells.
Sanders, assuming the name Angel, read the contents of the record and had no intention of explaining, as the conclusion was clear. After noticing Angel’s gaze shift away from the notebook, Sanders slowly put it away and then looked at Angel: “You know why I asked you to come, right?”
Although Sanders’ expression did not change, Angel could tell from his tone: it was time to discuss the main issue.
“Is it about the opening of the Wilderness of Dreams?” Angel asked without hesitation.
He had already considered this issue earlier. Previously, when Tree Spirit Lord was discussing with Lord Rhine and hoped to avoid hosting the tea party within the Eternal Tree, Sanders had given Angel a meaningful look.
Combining the current emotions, Angel roughly deduced that Sanders seemed to want to make a move regarding the tea party venue.
Why would Sanders want to act on this, especially when even Lord Rhine had to compromise on the venue? And where could there be a venue to manipulate?
As these questions multiplied, Angel almost immediately realized the answer.
——The Wilderness of Dreams.
Only the Wilderness of Dreams could provide a vast space. Only there could one construct the various magnificent and fantastical settings to satisfy the tastes of every witch.
However, the Wilderness of Dreams was currently closed.
In such a situation, the answer became obvious. The meaningful look Sanders had given was undoubtedly implying one thing… the opening of the Wilderness of Dreams.
