“What did you say, survive in a void storm?”
Angel received Tree Spirit’s message filled with doubt and was about to reply with a “Yes,” but before he could send it, a second message from Tree Spirit came through.
“Are you seeking death?”
Even through the emotionless text, Angel could feel Tree Spirit’s overwhelming sense of shock and disbelief.
Angel: “Is there really No Way to Survive in a void storm?”
Seeing Angel ask again, Tree Spirit knew that Angel was genuinely eager for an answer.
After a moment of contemplation, Tree Spirit replied: “Even I or Rhine, upon encountering a void storm, would have no choice but to retreat. I can’t think of any method… unless you possess a spatial item that can reduce the risk of spatial collapse, and it must be of a legendary realm or higher. Perhaps then, you might barely manage to survive in a void storm for a short while.”
“Or, if you have a Mysterious Object that can ignore spatial attributes. However, I have never heard of such a Mysterious Object, and there’s no record of anything similar in the Culuoli Chronicles. So, it’s best if you stop fantasizing.”
At the Rosewater Pavilion in New City.
After sending the message, Tree Spirit pondered why Angel would suddenly ask such a question.
“Could it be that he’s trapped in a void storm?”
“If he really was trapped in a void storm, he shouldn’t have time to log into the Wilderness of Dreams, let alone have the leisure to discuss update notices with the development team earlier. This doesn’t seem like someone trapped in a void storm.”
As Tree Spirit was filled with doubts, the door to the Rosewater Pavilion was opened, and Iron Armor Granny walked in, followed by a water-blue raccoon, Rain Tanuki.
Tree Spirit looked up: “Weren’t you supposed to pick up two guys at Dulmatin’s place? Why is only Rain Tanuki with you, where’s the traveling frog?”
Tree Spirit seemed to realize something and frowned: “Don’t tell me, the traveling frog has been messed up by Dulmatin? Dulmatin really is reckless, ruining an elemental creature on his first day of research. Didn’t he promise Angel?”
Iron Armor Granny: “What are you thinking about? The traveling frog is fine; it just didn’t come back with me.”
Tree Spirit: “Oh? The traveling frog didn’t come back?”
Iron Armor Granny nodded and turned to Rain Tanuki: “You explain.”
Rain Tanuki had been following Iron Armor Granny these past few days, trusting her more than others because of her kind appearance. Moreover, today was their first visit to Dulmatin for research, and Iron Armor Granny had specifically come to pick them up.
So, when Iron Armor Granny asked it to reply, Rain Tanuki didn’t refuse. After all, the traveling frog couldn’t speak at the moment, and it was up to it to translate the traveling frog’s intentions.
Rain Tanuki: “The traveling frog said it plans to go on a solo trip before we visit Lord Dulmatin again.”
“Solo trip?” Tree Spirit was taken aback: “It sure is carefree.”
Rain Tanuki said, “The purpose of the traveling frog’s life is to journey far and wide, seldom stopping. That’s why they’re called traveling frogs.”
Tree Spirit had an epiphany: “Is that so?”
After explaining, Rain Tanuki retreated to Iron Armor Granny’s side, who then walked over, fetched some fresh rose tea and a set of exquisite tea ware, and sat opposite Tree Spirit.
As Iron Armor Granny was preparing the tea, she asked, “I heard you mention something about a void storm at the door earlier. What’s that about?”
Tree Spirit sighed and shook its head, “It wasn’t me; it was Angel…”
Before Tree Spirit could finish, a new message popped up on the Mother Tree Network.
While explaining to Iron Armor Granny, Tree Spirit glanced at the content sent by Angel. It was still a question, still about the void storm.
“Is there a way to use something like displacement to get through the void storm?”
Iron Armor Granny, having seen the message too, showed confusion: “Why would Angel suddenly bring up the void storm?”
Tree Spirit shook its head: “Who knows.”
Tree Spirit sent a message to Angel, clearly stating that it’s impossible to use spatial displacement in a void storm. The essence of a void storm is the collapse of space itself; with space already collapsing, traversing through it is out of the question.
While Tree Spirit was messaging, Iron Armor Granny turned to Rain Tanuki: “Do void storms occur often where you’re from?”
Although Angel didn’t say, and Rain Tanuki never mentioned its origins, someone as astute as Iron Armor Granny could guess Rain Tanuki’s background. After all, the mystery of the disappearing elements on Edge Island is well-known in the Wizarding World. Their guesses just lacked some details.
Rain Tanuki understood that Iron Armor Granny was asking if the Tidal Realm experiences void storms. It hesitated before answering, “What’s a void storm?”
After a brief explanation by Iron Armor Granny.
Rain Tanuki shook its head: “We don’t have anything like that, and I’ve never heard of anyone reaching the void.”
Iron Armor Granny realized that Rain Tanuki genuinely didn’t know and didn’t press further. Instead, she looked at Tree Spirit: “Did Angel reply?”
Tree Spirit looked down: “Yes, he sent another question, still about the void storm. I feel like he’s really fixated on it.”
Tree Spirit showed the Mother Tree Network to Iron Armor Granny, and on the screen, clearly floated Angel’s question——
“If one reaches the legendary realm, can they survive in a void storm?”
After reading the message, Iron Armor Granny whispered, “Mentioning something of legendary realm out of the blue, could he have encountered some legendary creature?”
Tree Spirit, equally curious, sent a message asking, “What do you mean by ‘legendary’?”
Angel quickly replied, “Something similar to a legendary level nature wizard.”
Nature wizards are essentially elemental wizards specializing in the wood element. Upon seeing Angel mention “nature wizards,” neither Tree Spirit nor Iron Armor Granny thought Angel had actually met a nature wizard. Considering the location Angel was in, they gradually came to a different conclusion.
Iron Armor Granny speculated, “Could it be a legendary level wood elemental creature?”
Tree Spirit, somewhat incredulous, responded, “Is that even possible?”
Yet, recalling the specifics of Angel’s location, Tree Spirit hesitated, “Do such beings truly exist?”
Their gaze collectively shifted towards Rain Tanuki, who remained silent. Both Iron Armor Granny and Tree Spirit understood that Rain Tanuki was unwilling to divulge details about the Tidal Realm. It was tight-lipped, and even under pressure, it would not speak. They decided not to press further for the time being.
However, if Angel truly had encountered a legendary level wood elemental creature, it would be an extraordinary event, and Angel himself could be in great danger.
Iron Armor Granny suggested, “Reply to him. This time, you must clarify what exactly is happening on Angel’s end and whether he needs our help.”
Previously, they hadn’t inquired about Angel’s situation, not out of disinterest, but out of respect for Angel’s privacy; however, the mention of a legendary creature made them uneasy.
Tree Spirit immediately responded, “If you’re referring to a nature wizard with legendary wood elemental abilities, I can tell you that surviving in a void storm is still challenging, unless it’s a seasoned legendary wizard with a deep understanding of space who could possibly enter a void storm.”
Although the Savage Grottoes currently lacked legendary wizards, it had been home to many in the past. Having lived for an extended period, Tree Spirit had seen its fair share of legendary figures and was familiar with their capabilities.
“A wizard at the initial stage of becoming legendary, generally speaking, only those of the mysterious branch with spatial abilities can briefly withstand the void storm. Others cannot.”
After answering Angel’s question, Tree Spirit added, “What exactly is your situation? Why are you so interested in the void storm? Are you trapped in one? Do you have legendary beings around you in reality?”
After a period of waiting, Tree Spirit received a reply.
Angel: “There’s nothing much happening on my end, nor am I trapped in a void storm. I’ve just discovered coordinates to a treasure that happens to be located within a void storm, so I was wondering if there’s a way to enter it… There are no legendary beings around me, but there is a peak existence that’s half a step into the legendary realm. Its situation is a bit complicated; I’ll find time to explain it to you later.”
Angel seemed to sense Tree Spirit’s concern and sent another message: “Don’t worry, it has no malice towards me. And even if it did, I would find a way to escape.”
After reading Angel’s reply, both Tree Spirit and Iron Armor Granny leaned towards trusting Angel’s judgment. After all, if there were truly urgent matters in reality, Angel wouldn’t have the leisure to wander in the Wilderness of Dreams.
Not encountering a legendary being is a good thing. However, being close to legendary is still terrifying.
“I wonder where Angel went to have so easily encountered something close to legendary,” Tree Spirit muttered. Given the current situation in the Wizarding World of the Southern Region, those close to the legendary realm, including Rhine, Mengke, and the Sea God, are at the pinnacle of the pyramid. In the vast Wizarding World, encountering such beings is not easy.
“Although Angel himself said there’s no problem, I’ll still inform Rhine about the situation,” Iron Armor Granny stood up. “It’s just right, I also need to return to reality and take over the ruin’s guard duty from Rhine.”
After Iron Armor Granny finished speaking, she signaled Rain Tanuki to go play, and then her figure slowly disappeared.
Tree Spirit then sent a message: “Be careful, if there really is a treasure inside the void storm, don’t think about it. You can ask me for help anytime.”
Angel replied with a “Okay,” marking the end of their brief conversation.
…
In Initial Heart City, within the Pat Manor.
Angel put down the Mother Tree Communicator, still recalling the words of Tree Spirit.
Angel believed that Tree Spirit wouldn’t deceive him, but what Tree Spirit said was completely contrary to his own speculation.
He had always thought that the solution left by Feng for the current situation was Nemeti.
As long as Nemeti advanced to legendary, she could easily take him into the void storm to obtain the treasure. Thus, this situation involving three different worlds could be concluded with a perfect ending.
But Tree Spirit shattered Angel’s fantasy.
Nature wizards advancing to the legendary realm couldn’t survive in the void storm, let alone elemental creatures with even more singular abilities and less knowledge.
According to this speculation, even if Nemeti was helped to advance to legendary, it wouldn’t be possible to take her into the void storm.
In this case, Nemeti’s advancement had no causal connection with entering the void storm.
So, how should this situation be resolved?
Angel was somewhat puzzled because if this was a situation set up by Feng, it surely wouldn’t be unsolvable. Knowing the “effect” and searching for the “cause” in the situation shouldn’t be difficult. But the most likely scenario found was, paradoxically, incorrect.
After much deliberation, Angel felt that there could only be three possibilities for the current situation.
The first possibility is that there is a hidden secret within this situation that Angel hasn’t discovered yet. That secret might be the external condition to break through the barrier of the void storm.
The second possibility is that the situation set up by Feng doesn’t end here. Perhaps it involves another new situation to potentially break through the void storm.
Just as unlocking a treasure requires first clearing the “Abyss Ice Valley” instance to obtain the Ouija Multi-Pattern Cipher Key, without this key, even if you enter the Tidal Realm, you cannot access the treasure.
Similarly, without certain prerequisites, it’s impossible to break through the void storm.
The third possibility is that the birth of the void storm was entirely unexpected, even by Feng, catching everyone off guard.
In Angel’s mind, there’s no clear inclination towards any of these scenarios; each is equally plausible. However, the latter two situations, whether a new scenario or an unexpected development, boil down to one conclusion: they cannot be considered or resolved in the short term.
Therefore, these two possibilities can be set aside for now, focusing instead on the first scenario.
Perhaps there’s an aspect of the situation Angel has overlooked.
After pondering for a moment, Angel recalled Tree Spirit’s response when first asked: “Only with a legendary spatial item or some kind of space-related Mysterious Object could one possibly break through the void storm.”
At the time, Tree Spirit’s suggestion seemed offhand, as it viewed such an outcome as virtually impossible.
But what if that was actually the correct answer?
Perhaps Feng left something of the sort somewhere in the Tidal Realm, and Angel simply hadn’t discovered it yet.
Following this line of thought, Angel considered: if such an item does exist, where might Feng have placed it?
In the Tidal Realm, the entities closely connected to Feng are Gentle Wind Uranos, Frost Iseth, and Nemeti. If he were to leave an item behind, it would likely be with one of these three elemental creatures.
Angel personally leans towards Nemeti.
After all, Nemeti is the elemental creature most intimately connected to the treasure’s location.
Just like the ice ring Feng left with Frost Iseth, Angel speculated that perhaps Feng had also given Nemeti an item, which Nemeti, not recognizing its significance, thought was ordinary. Could that item be the key to solving the puzzle?
Angel began to wildly speculate.
Ultimately, he decided to meet with Nemeti to inquire about the existence of such an item as he had theorized.
If not, then he would have to continue searching, possibly having to comb through White Cloud Hamlet, Marlaya Mountain, and the Green Forest Domain in their entirety.
With this thought, Angel exited the Wilderness of Dreams, preparing to meet Nemeti.
