The one speaking was a silver-haired youth standing at the forefront of the manta ray; it was none other than Sirius, the “Big Fish Wizard.”
“What I am doing here, what does it have to do with you?” Merayesha sat up from his lounge chair, lazily responding to Sirius’ query, “As the person in charge of the White Shell Shipping Company, is it so strange for me to appear on the sea?”
“The Sea God will soon appear in the waters ahead, Merayesha, I advise you to avoid it ne. If you offend the Sea God, the consequences can’t be glossed over with the excuse you have now ne.”
Sirius spoke lightly, but his expression was serious. He didn’t let his guard down due to Merayesha’s nonchalant demeanor, after all, the person in front of him was known as the “Demon Hunter” Merayesha, one of the few battle… true knowledge wizards in Sky Mechanical City.
“Speaking of which, I have a question.” Merayesha stood up, stretching lazily, revealing a large expanse of sturdy dark chest, “Why is it not any other sea area, but specifically the one ahead?”
Sirius watched Merayesha quietly, waiting for his explanation.
“It seems I guessed right, the Leviathan that suddenly appeared there is quite peculiar.” Merayesha squinted.
Sirius remained silent with a smile, but his expression was noticeably colder than before.
Merayesha continued, “Originally, I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the Leviathan being there. I just used my long-unused Luck Detection to ask a simple yes or no question. You know, I’m not a prophecy wizard, even if I learned some prophecy tricks, they often malfunction. Whether the answer to the Luck Detection was ‘yes’ or ‘no’, I didn’t care much. But ironically… the answer to Luck Detection was: undetectable.”
Sirius’s expression grew colder and colder.
“That’s interesting… obviously, you don’t want others to know about Silver Palm Island, and you have set up a fog that even a prophecy wizard can’t see through. Speaking of which, this seems a bit superfluous.” Merayesha spoke at a leisurely pace, “Now, can you answer me, why exactly are people not allowed to enter the sea area ahead?”
Suddenly, Sirius laughed, “Without a huge benefit, we wouldn’t be willing to put in such a large capital, can’t you guess what the benefit would be ne?”
Merayesha just shrugged indifferently, “It seems that you guys are not going to spill the beans. But no matter, Dachi, keep going forward, if you don’t tell me, I will see with my own eyes.”
Upon Merayesha’s command, Dachi, without any ability to resist, whined and continued to steer the ship, even if what lay ahead was a giant manta ray many times larger than them.
“It seems, Merayesha, you really want to be enemies with us, the Song of the Deep Sea?” Sirius’s face went completely dark, even abandoning his characteristic ‘ne’ at the end of sentences.
“Please make it clear, it’s not me who’s being your enemy. Rather, you are the enemies of the entire Wizarding World.” Merayesha laughed as he headed towards the direction of Silver Palm Island.
Sirius did not block his path, nor could he.
When Merayesha departed, Sirius frowned, noticing two bubbles emerging from the mouth of Brigitte.
These bubbles, unique to the Song of the Deep Sea, were communication bubbles. They facilitated long-distance interactions through the frequency of sound fields among sea beasts.
Sirius activated the bubble on the left. After hearing the message within, a flicker of anger flashed in his eyes.
He now understood why Merayesha said earlier that they were making enemies with the entire Wizarding World! Because he had just received a message that turmoil was brewing in the Southern Wizarding World. News about the Silver Palm Island was spreading like wildfire; some said a Mysterious Object was about to appear, others spoke of an opportunity to attain true knowledge, and still others whispered of a secret, otherworldly Vision Space…
Usually, wizards would pay no heed to such rumors, dismissing them as mere gossip.
However, the rumor-mongers were fervently declaring: “If you don’t believe us, try using the prediction spell.”
Sirius didn’t need to speculate about the aftermath; when the wizards discovered that the Silver Palm Island’s area shielded prediction probes, they would naturally sense something suspicious.
A shield that could cover such a vast range wasn’t easy to establish without considerable effort. There must be significant benefits involved! Wizards, always eager for gains, would undoubtedly swarm to the island!
Sirius clenched his fist; he was certain the mastermind behind this scheme was Merayesha!
Sirius was contemplating whether to call upon the Sea God immediately. An influx of wizards on the Silver Palm Island could not be dealt with their current manpower.
For now, Sirius decided to suppress his urgency and listen to the message in the second bubble.
Yet, as the voice from the second bubble resonated, Sirius could no longer remain seated. He immediately patted the giant ray beneath him, “Brigitte, send a message to the Sea God… The gate is about to open ne!”
With a flick of her butterfly-like wings, Brigitte sent out a frequency message.
After waiting for Brigitte to send the message, Sirius immediately flew towards Silver Palm Island.
On his way to the Silver Palm Island, Sirius ran into Merayesha again. He shot him a fierce glare before speeding off without a backward glance.
Merayesha stroked his chin, looking at the little demon Dachi in front of him, “What did his expression mean just now?”
Dachi licked his fangs, “Master, I’m just a low-IQ little demon, I can’t read people’s expressions.”
Merayesha extended his foot and delivered a strong kick to Dachi.
At the same time, Dachi felt the shackles tighten, and he gritted his teeth, “Master, I guess Sirius was expressing his indignation towards you.”
“And then?” Merayesha continued to inquire.
“Well, something momentous may have transpired. Sirius seemed fraught with anxiety, quite desperate,” replied Dachi, looking back at Merayesha. He noticed his master’s foot raised again and hastily pleaded, “Master, I’m just a dim-witted little demon. That’s about all I can perceive.”
As Dachi spoke, he fluttered his tiny bat wings behind him, seemingly in an attempt to curry favor and play dumb simultaneously.
Merayesha lowered his foot. Unwilling to fuss over this “dim-witted” little demon, he murmured, “It seems that I arrived just in time.”
After a triumphant chuckle, Merayesha commanded, “Dachi, proceed at full speed!”
When Sirius arrived near Silver Palm Island, he spotted the Basket Witch and Lady Pei in midair. Despite their seemingly delicate gazes, they bestowed an immense pressure on Sirius, even surpassing the stress Merayesha imposed.
His eyes smoldering with spite, Sirius chose a new direction, distancing himself from the denizens of Summer Dew Ridge while muttering under his breath, “Your days of swaggering around are numbered.”
Upon reaching a steady altitude, Sirius finally turned his gaze towards Silver Palm Island.
After days of self-doubt and internal struggle, the Leviathan seemed to comprehend something, yet appeared completely clueless.
It didn’t understand why it had inexplicably ended up here, but it knew what it had to do upon arrival.
An enigmatic force guided it here, asking it to guard a door.
What lay beyond the door, it had no idea.
It didn’t comprehend why it was playing the role of a gatekeeper. It was merely following its instincts.
However, as time gradually passed, the mysterious force seemed to weaken slightly. The Leviathan began to realize that it wasn’t a gatekeeper. It was the King of the Deep, the apex predator of this marine food chain!
When the seed of self-doubt blossomed into the flower of enlightenment and bore the fruit of fury, the Leviathan finally started to resist violently.
It began to attack everything frenziedly, especially the gate it was supposed to guard.
By the time Sirius arrived, Silver Palm Island had been leveled due to the Leviathan’s insane rampage.
But the Leviathan seemed to have not vented its anger entirely. It kept thrashing its powerful body, attacking the gate that only it could perceive.
Successive energy ripples emanated from the position of Silver Palm Island.
Transcendent beings not at the wizard level could not withstand these ripples and fell into the sea unconscious. Even Sirius felt his heart pounding with fear. He could even feel Brigitte, the creature beneath him, trembling in terror.
The Leviathan was exploiting all its advantages, annihilating the source of its fury before its eyes.
The wrath of the King of the Deep Sea sent storm clouds to the sky, and hurricanes followed suit. In conjunction with the might of the Leviathan, it led to an unprecedented formation of monstrous waves. Countless sea tornadoes were born rapidly, charging towards all directions.
The violent release of power ultimately caused an imminent collapse of the already unstable energy in the vicinity. An energy collapse, signifies… the inception of an energy storm!
The scale of an energy storm is determined by the extent of the collapse and the amount of primordial magic power at the collapse site. The energy collapse caused by the Leviathan was measured in “seas”. Coupled with the abundant original magic power in the Devil’s Sea, the energy storm that emerged was unimaginably colossal.
Even Sirius struggled to persevere in such an energy storm. The only two who remained as steady as a mountain were the Basket Witch and the recently arrived Merayesha.
Merayesha, gazing at the Leviathan in front, a wry smile curled his lips, “Such a grand spectacle as soon as I arrived, seems like the entrance lines I thought up won’t be of much use now.”
While speaking, Merayesha instructed the little devil Dachi to head north. Under Merayesha’s protection, Dachi didn’t show any abnormalities, and even applauded the massacre caused by the nearby energy collapse.
“Master, why are we heading north?”
Merayesha didn’t mind Dachi’s impertinent question, and secretly pointed towards a lunatic in the distance sitting on a basket creature, “That one over there is a madman comparable to Isabella, and her strength is much stronger than Isabella… It’s best for us to keep our distance.”
The Basket Witch, with her chin propped up and face tilted, displaying a coy expression, paid no heed to Merayesha’s subtle action. She gazed at the Leviathan with a beaming smile, as if looking at an intriguing toy.
