Chapter 831 Tainted Blood Shadow Dagger <TOC> Chapter 833 Family Feast

A shadow whisked across the tumultuous Devil’s Sea, high in the sky.
Illuminated by the radiant sun, the shadow was distinctly discerned as a woman with wings for arms – it was Silkvine.
“Lady Silkvine, would it be easier if you didn’t carry me?” queried Helen from Silkvine’s back, a blush creeping onto her face.
“Why? Is it uncomfortable on my back?” Silkvine turned around, her eyes sparkling as she grinned at Helen. “Also, I’ve said it before, you can just call me Silkvine.”
“It’s not uncomfortable, it’s just a bit…” Helen trailed off, her cheeks growing hotter.
Silkvine suddenly shushed her: “Alright, we’ve arrived at our destination. We can talk more after we land.”
Helen, taken aback, craned her neck to look downward, and indeed, there was an island blooming with flowers beneath them. Intrigued, she glanced around; the Cloud Conch had never passed by here while traversing the sea, making it her first glimpse of the real face of Summer Dew Ridge.
The island was small but bedecked with a riot of colorful flowers. Buildings were hidden amongst the flora, giving the place a unique charm.
“Welcome to Summer Dew Ridge.” Silkvine, with Helen on her back, gently landed on a small harbor on the outskirts of the island. “Shortly, I’ll take you to Lady Pei to confirm your talent. Remember, while on the island, you must respect everyone, especially Lady Pei and Mistress Summer Dew.”
Helen nodded, “I understand.”
As Silkvine was explaining the rules of Summer Dew Ridge to Helen, a group of people emerged from a distant path. The woman leading the group was elegantly attired in a black dress, but her face bore numerous scars, lending her an intimidating aura.
Upon seeing the newcomers, Silkvine immediately knelt down, pulling Helen down with her: “Good afternoon, Lady Pei.”
Lady Pei walked over, sparing a glance at Silkvine before shifting her gaze to Helen behind her. She nodded slightly, “So this is the talented individual you brought back?”
Silkvine nodded in affirmation.
“It seems you hold her in high regard, going so far as to give her the Cold Night Potion gifted to you by our master,” Lady Pei noted, a whiff of the potent potion’s scent emanating from Helen had caught her attention.
“Helen once saved me. This is my way of repaying her,” Silkvine answered.
Lady Pei fell silent and moved past Silkvine towards the harbor, her disciples following her without a moment’s hesitation.
Rising to her feet, Silkvine looked curiously at Lady Pei’s retreating figure, her brow furrowed in puzzlement. After a moment’s thought, she pulled aside a familiar disciple and whispered, “What happened today? Lady Pei is even on the move. Where are you all heading?”
“In a short while, a person of great importance will arrive. We’ve been enlisted by Lady Pei to welcome them,” came the announcement.
“An important person?” asked Silkvine, curiosity piqued. “Who might that be?”
“I’m not entirely certain. However, the whispers suggest that they hail from Storm Valley.”
Storm Valley? Silkvine remembered that there was already one distinguished guest from Storm Valley on the island. Could another be on their way?
In the midst of her puzzlement, a sudden gust of wind breezed past her. Whipping her head around, she was met with the sight of an additional figure standing beside Lady Pei in the distance — the same guest that had been staying at Summer Dew Ridge.
Simultaneously, Silkvine noticed a silhouette darting across the distant sky.
Upon seeing the figure, Silkvine observed that Lady Pei quickly moved to welcome the arrival. It seemed apparent that their primary purpose for this visit was to greet this new guest. But who could they be?
“Long time no see. You seem to have undergone a transformation, appearing more sleek and assertive than before,” Lady Pei commented, a hint of nostalgia flickering in her gaze as she observed the woman who had landed at the port.
In front of her stood a woman, her face concealed behind an enigmatic smiling mask, her fiery red hair an unmissable spectacle. Coupled with a black leather jacket adorned with numerous studs, she emitted an aura of efficiency and dominance.
“Lady Pei, it’s been a century since we last met in the Dwarf Tomb Plane. You, on the other hand, appear unchanged,” the woman retorted.
With a folding fan covering half of her face, Lady Pei let out a chuckle behind the fan, “My face is in such a state, yet you claim there’s no difference in the eyes of Eliza?”
Eliza responded indifferently, “Appearances have never been my concern.”
“Listen to you, speaking such words. Wearing a mask now, do you see yourself as a man?”
“Male or female, it makes no difference to me,” Eliza paused before adding, “Besides, restoring your appearance, Lady Pei, would only take a blink of an eye.”
After a brief exchange, Eliza accompanied Lady Pei to the island. Initially, the plan was to arrange a room for her, but Eliza declined: “No need, I still have some matters to attend to in the Southern Region. I only came here to exchange a few words with the redhead. I’ll be leaving shortly, so there’s no need for a room.”
Lady Pei glanced at Eliza, then at the aloof man standing apart from them, and nodded, “Alright then.”
Without lingering, Lady Pei exchanged a few pleasantries before retreating to her own room.
Once Lady Pei departed, only Eliza and the stern-faced redhead remained.
“Follow me.” With these words, the man led Eliza into a chaotic and narrow space, filled with topsy-turvy tumult.
In this bizarre space, Eliza displayed an air of familiarity. She nonchalantly pulled out a chair from one corner, casually lounged onto it, and in the process revealed her long, pale legs.
The redhead man’s expression darkened: “Eliza, where has your decorum gone these years? Don’t forget that you are a woman.”
Eliza glanced at her exposed legs, rolled her eyes behind her mask: “I thought you’d be more open-minded after being with Eureka. Why do you still seem as old-fashioned as before?”
“There’s nothing between Eureka and me, we merely share common interests.”
“Do you really think I’d buy that?” Eliza retorted sarcastically. “Could you, perhaps, not fiddle with your tie or let your eyes wander when you say that?”
The redhead man, after a moment of silence, replied: “If you don’t believe me, so be it.”
“Alright, I believe you. In truth, it’s unrequited love on your part, right? Why else would you have me spread counterfeit Scarlet Sovereignty in various places?” Eliza raised an eyebrow, “If the world were to learn that the renowned Suis, has betrayed King Guman and is in cahoots with the hunted, Tainted Blood Shadow Dagger, I estimate the gossip magazines would have enough material from this year through the next, wouldn’t they?”
The redhead man was indeed Suis, not only was he a wizard of Storm Valley like Eliza, but they were also siblings.
Suis chose to ignore Eliza’s gibberish. What did or didn’t happen was left for outsiders to speculate, he knew the truth.
“What’s the current situation with King Guman?” Suis asked.
Upon mention of serious matters, Eliza instantly dropped her jesting demeanor and relayed the current situation of King Guman.
“King Guman seems calm for now, but as you know, the loss of Scarlet Sovereignty has caused turbulence beneath the surface of the entire Southern Wizarding World…”
“…He might have started suspecting you, I heard he’s already sent other wizards to Edge Island. You should prepare ahead.”
After Eliza relayed all the information she had, Suis was silent for quite a while, digesting the words she had just shared. After what seemed like an eternity, he finally replied, “Do you know who King Guman sent?”
“I don’t know,” Eliza shrugged. However, a second later, as if something had occurred to her, she leaned towards Suis and said, “But, I have a piece of information that might be useful to you.”
“Information? What information?”
“It’s something I came across accidentally. The Scarlet Sovereignty is inscribed with a Blood Origin Recursion spell formation. This formation can link the lifeblood to an object, and one can sense the specific location of the object regardless of where it is. The reason why King Guman can always pinpoint Eureka’s exact location is also because of this connection.”
Eliza paused for a moment, “However, as you know, given King Guman’s disposition, he would never allow his own vital essence to be lost. Thus, I suspect the vital essence in Scarlet Sovereignty is not his, but likely that of the previous Guman King. The reason he can sense it is because of their shared bloodline.”
Suis furrowed his brow, “What are you implying?”
“With these,” Eliza’s hand suddenly held two items, “we might be able to lure King Guman.”
One was a counterfeit of the Scarlet Sovereignty, the other a vial containing a few drops of fresh blood.
Upon receiving them, Suis examined the fake Scarlet Sovereignty, his eyes flickering with surprise, “This forgery is incredibly realistic, but… why are you giving it to me?”
Eliza clarified, “I know you want me to release the counterfeit to distract King Guman. But as I mentioned earlier, he can sense the true Scarlet Sovereignty’s location, a fake won’t mislead him.”
“Then why hand it to me?”
“This counterfeit is unique; it’s engraved with a bloodline tracing magic formation. The vial I just gave you contains the vital essence of the Guman royal family. If King Guman is sensing the Scarlet Sovereignty through bloodline, you may be able to lure him with this.” She paused, her expression suddenly turning regretful, “Originally, I wanted the creator to imbue it with a mysterious property, to make it appear as the real Scarlet Sovereignty. This would give us more room to manoeuvre, even potentially eliminating future threats… However, imbuing it with such properties isn’t easy.”
Upon hearing Eliza’s words, Suis began to contemplate the feasibility of her plan.
“Are you certain the Scarlet Sovereignty is engraved with a bloodline tracing magic formation?” he queried.
“Absolutely, although the creator is not yet a master alchemist, in certain respects, particularly in enchanting alchemy, many master alchemists are inferior to him.”
Suis fell into deep thought. If all that Eliza had said were true, it seemed there could be a plausible course of action.
“Knowing that the Scarlet Sovereignty is engraved with a bloodline tracing magic formation, can we directly erase its connection to the vital essence?” Suis inquired.
Eliza was taken aback, then sheepishly admitted, “Eh, I forgot to ask.”
Suis looked steadily at Eliza, taking a while before sighing, “I will keep these two items. Once we return to the Old Land Continent, I will conduct some experiments. As for you, go back and ask the creator about this.”
At this point, Suis suddenly asked, “By the way, it’s rare for you to praise an alchemist so highly. Who is this creator?”
