Chapter 832 Siblings <TOC> Chapter 834 The Ice Chamber

“Angel?” Suis mused over this name, his expression slightly peculiar.
Seeing this, Eliza turned with a curious gaze, “What, you’ve heard of him too? That’s right, when I rushed over from the Feran Continent, the news of his crafting of a high-rank alchemical item was causing quite a stir.”
“High-rank? He can craft high-rank works now?” Suis raised his eyebrows in inquiry.
“It seems so, considering how detailed the rumors are. Moreover, I heard that there was a recording leaked. But, I was in such a hurry to return that I didn’t seek it out to watch.” Eliza showed a timely regret, “A recording of high-rank alchemy is rare to see. It’s worth seeking out when I return.”
“As a matter of fact, Angel was quite earnest in his alchemy. I asked him to craft a counterfeit of the Scarlet Sovereignty for me, and I didn’t expect him to take it so seriously. He managed to find the Blood Origin Recursion formation in the details of the blueprint, and even carved it onto the item.”
Eliza couldn’t help but chuckle as she recalled the look on Angel’s face when he discovered the truth.
Suis, however, remained thoughtful for a while, then spoke with an unusual interest, “Speaking of which, I heard this name just before I left Edge Island.”
“Name? You mean Angel?” Eliza was puzzled, “Even in a place like Edge Island, there are people who know about Angel?”
Suis nodded, “The one who mentioned this name was an apprentice I took in on Edge Island. His name is Leon Pat.”
“I remember you mentioned him to me last time. He’s the one who, through extreme physical training, elevated his mental power to the level of a talent, isn’t he?” Eliza had been running around the Feran Continent in recent years, but she kept in touch with Suis from time to time through certain special methods.
“Yes, that’s him. When he knew I was leaving Edge Island, he asked me to help him inquire about a person named Angel.”
“Leon Pat? Pat… Angel Pat?! Could these two be from the same clan?” Eliza paused, a glint of surprise flashing in her eyes.
“If the Angel you’re talking about is the same one Leon is looking for, then they should be brothers from the same mother.” Suis paused, “But what’s strange is, according to Leon, Angel went to the White Coral Floating Island Academy. But the Angel you’re talking about entered the Savage Grottoes.”
“What’s most important is, according to Leon, his brother Angel left Edge Island four years ago. Subtracting the time spent on the journey, he should only have been training for three years. But in such a short span of three years, to reach the level of crafting high-rank alchemical items, that’s somewhat unbelievable.”
Eliza shrugged, “Talent and opportunities go hand in hand. Besides, his mentor is ‘that’ person.”
One master, three wizards, and even taught a true knowledge wizard, Sanders.
“Regardless of how he achieved such an altitude, it is undeniable that he will assuredly secure a position as a master alchemist in the future,” Eliza suddenly chuckled, her eyes sparkling with mischief beneath her mask. “After all, you’ve taken his elder brother as an apprentice, which naturally brings us a step closer to him… Wouldn’t it be easier to ask him to craft something for us in the future?”
Suis, however, was not as optimistic. He had not truly interacted with Angel, so he was unclear about his character, temperament, and beliefs. Whether he could use Leon to foster a closer relationship with Angel was another matter entirely.
Nonetheless, Suis kept a watchful eye on this Angel.
Suis inquired further about Angel with Eliza, and as the conversation unfolded, it veered from Angel to discuss the significant events currently shaking the Wizarding World—like the Abyssal Calamity, and the unexpected changes in the Fairytale World.
As they spoke, time flowed from day to night.
Eliza declared, “I am preparing to leave. Recently, the Stormy Little Shop in Sky City has been targeted by a pack of mad dogs. Leaving the old man alone in the shop gives me unease. If not for the task of delivering the counterfeit Scarlet Sovereignty and that vial of vital essence to you, I wouldn’t have bothered with this journey.”
“You’ve gone through a lot of trouble,” Suis gently stroked Eliza’s hair, his tenderness stirring memories of her childhood.
Annoyed, Eliza brushed Suis’s hand away: “Keep your sweet nothings for Eureka.”
“Are the mad dogs you mentioned from King Guman’s men?”
“No, King Guman wouldn’t dare lay a finger on Sky Mechanical City. The mad dogs I mentioned are those who have pledged their faith to the Profound Lord.” Eliza didn’t elaborate further and promptly jumped out of Suis’s dimensional space.
After both returned to Summer Dew Ridge, Eliza prepared to bid him farewell.
“Hold on, I have a question for you before you leave. Why would you stay in Summer Dew Ridge, could it be… you have a fondness for a crazy type like the Basket Witch?” Eliza asked with a sly gaze.
“I merely helped Summer Dew Witch solve some issues, nothing more. However, it seems that Summer Dew Witch’s intentions have failed, so I plan on leaving soon if nothing unexpected happens,” Suis responded calmly.
“Does this have anything to do with the matter at Silver Palm Island?”
Suis fell silent.
Eliza gave an understanding nod, shot Suis a cautious glance, then turned on her heel and left without hesitation.
…
In the town of Grud, at Pat Manor.
The return of the Pat family’s young master stirred up a fervent atmosphere throughout the manor. Many of the servants had watched Angel grow up, and their emotions ran high at his homecoming.
Like the head maid, Mana.
Even though Angel had already met with her in the afternoon, when it came to the evening family banquet, the sight of him still occasionally brought tears to the eyes of Mana, the head maid, which she would gently dab away with her handkerchief.
Having no other choice, Leon had to excuse himself with a private matter, asking Mana to leave temporarily.
After Mana had departed, the grand family feast was left with only the two brothers. For any noble family, a banquet with only two participants might seem rather lackluster, but they did not think so. On the contrary, there were countless words, countless stories that they wanted to share with each other.
However, when it came to speaking, neither knew where to begin.
After a long while, Leon finally broke the silence, his voice barely above a whisper, “How have you been these past few years out there, Angel?”
Thinking back on the events of the past few years, Angel responded as if in a dream, “I’ve been well.”
“Indeed, I heard from Mana that you had a long standoff with Lady Eureka and even gave the Watchers a good thrashing. It appears that you haven’t been wasting these years,” Leon’s eyes flickered with admiration. He had always remained in Grud Town, never having left. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, but rather he had responsibilities here, as well as a promise he made to Angel.
“Just thinking about the five-year agreement with mentor Jon, how could I dare waste time?” Angel looked at Leon, who hadn’t changed much over the past four years. His face had matured, and his features had become more profound, giving him a stable and mature look.
Leon flinched, avoiding Angel’s intense gaze by lowering his head.
“Brother, I’ve been wanting to ask since I came back, how is mentor Jon doing now?” Angel asked, a sense of apprehension in his heart. Seeing Leon’s expression and recalling his previous encounter with Eureka, he was very concerned about Jon’s current situation. However, there were too many people around before, making it inappropriate to bring it up. It was only now that he found an opportunity to ask.
“My dear brother, you’ve just returned and you’re already asking about that old man. Don’t you care about me at all? As expected, in your heart, Jon’s position is even more important than your own brother’s,” Leon exaggeratedly lamented.
Angel sighed, “You are right in front of me now. I can see that you’re doing better than ever. So, can you tell me about mentor Jon’s current condition?”
“Why not tell me about what happened to you these years? I remember you went to the White Coral Floating Island Academy, so how did you end up in the Savage Grottoes?” Leon deflected, hiding his expression behind a glass of red wine.
“Brother, don’t change the subject. I won’t leave immediately after coming back this time. I’ll tell you about my experiences slowly. What I want to know first is mentor Jon’s situation,” Angel’s voice trembled slightly, “Did he… pass away?”
Leon was silent for a moment before downing a glass of wine.
“Today was supposed to be a joyful day, and I wanted to tell you about this later,” Leon finally replied after a long silence, “But since you insist on asking, I suppose there’s no harm in telling you.”
“Jon is not dead, but his condition… it’s not good.”
In a state of urgency, Angel asserted, “As long as there’s a breath left in him, there’s a glimmer of hope. Moreover, I’ve deduced the nature of his affliction. Bring me to him, and I can turn the tide in his favor.”
Leon, trying to calm the situation, responded, “Sit down for a moment, let’s not rush into the storm blind. Are you aware that he’s an outsider, currently being rejected by the World Will?”
Angel retorted, “Mentor Jon has never hidden his true colors; this should be no news to you.”
“I used to think his claim of hailing from Earth was nothing more than a well-woven lie. Little did I suspect, he truly journeyed here from another realm.”
“Was it Lady Eureka who brought this to light?” asked Angel.
Leon nodded in confirmation.
“I heard from Uncle George that Pat Manor closed its doors three years ago. So, did Lady Eureka arrive here three years prior? Did she choose to stay because of Professor Jon?”
Observing Angel’s apparent targeting of Eureka, Leon sighed softly, “In truth, when Lady Eureka first graced Pat Manor, it was the Morning Dew After Rain that drew her here. However, once she arrived and sensed Jon’s presence, she turned her attention to studying him…”
“Studying him,” Angel scoffed coldly, “And what fruits did her research bear?”
Leon replied, “None. While it’s true Lady Eureka stayed at the manor initially to study Jon, she didn’t glean any significant insights. From the second year onwards, she remained for a different reason, a reason she never divulged to me.”
“A different reason? I suspect it still revolves around mentor Jon,” Angel stated, well aware of the weight of discovering a human outside the Wizarding World for a wizard.
Leon clarified, “Actually, Lady Eureka never overstepped boundaries with Jon, at least not that I ever witnessed. And let’s not forget, Jon’s continued survival is, in part, thanks to Lady Eureka’s efforts.”
