Chapter 886 The Pink Imps <TOC> Chapter 888 The Transformation of the Right Arm

On the other side, Angel had returned to Borel Town, his arms laden with raw materials.
Crafting Domain Lapis Lazuli was a time-consuming endeavor. The Lapis Lazuli itself was rather peculiar— a single piece could set the nodes of a space, record spatial coordinates, and several linked together could generate a new membrane while having the ability to obstruct the spatial plane.
In essence, though the Lapis Lazuli was only a semi-finished product, each crafting session was akin to making an entry-level alchemy item.
Generally speaking, depending on the size of the Semi-Passage, the number of Domain Lapis Lazulis needed varied but not less than fifty. Over these days, Angel had ventured into the Wilderness of Dreams several times to assess the size of the semi-passage.
After crunching the numbers, he concluded that to seal the semi-passage entirely, a minimum of one hundred and twenty pieces of Domain Lapis Lazuli would be required.
The task of crafting these was taxing even for Angel, with no shortcut available. This was due to the fact that it didn’t involve enchantment or harmonizing, but was instead a fusion and treatment of multiple materials.
Working tirelessly, Angel devoted a full month before completing the process.
By that time, midsummer had already arrived.
During this month, Angel had entirely secluded himself in his manic devotion to his work. Despite Freud’s multiple attempts to seek him out, Toby had turned him away each time, denying him any access to Angel.
Finally, when Angel finished his crafting process and prepared to take a brief breather, Freud returned yet again.
Freud’s intentions were the same as before, wishing to gain specifics about the Wilderness of Dreams. However, this time he declared his willingness to take the Oath of Luo with a stern resolve.
Freud’s thoughts were clear. Having spent so much time together, he understood Angel’s character well enough to know that even if he took the Oath of Luo, Angel wouldn’t exploit the situation to his detriment.
However, Freud was taken aback when Angel refused his proposition. “No rush on the Oath of Luo. Later, I’m going to deal with the dangers of the Wilderness of Dreams. If the dangers within can be mitigated, you can then explore the wilderness and we can discuss the Oath. If I fail, and the dangers cannot be eliminated, I will never set foot in the Wilderness of Dreams again, and I will no longer use the Dream Conch.”
“So, let’s wait.”
After their conversation, Angel, having recovered some of his energy, left Borel Town. He planned to sever the Wilderness of Dreams. But, to prevent any substantial disturbance in reality while severing the Interstitial Space, he decided to find a deserted area.
The Revelation Continent was vast, with many uninhabited restricted zones. Angel located a barren wasteland devoid of human life for miles around. He chose a safe spot, set up a Illusory Realm to keep wild beasts at bay, and had Toby stand guard outside. Only then did he get down to the crucial matter at hand.
Holding the Gondola in his hands, Angel proceeded with care, without activating it. Into this receptacle, he placed the Domain Lapis Lazuli and other items he speculated might come in handy, all comfortably housed within the confines of the Gondola.
After ensuring everything was in order, he unveiled the Dream Conch, forcefully dragging the fully-loaded Gondola into the vast expanse of the Wilderness of Dreams.
On the surface, the Gondola remained unchanged, as did the Domain Lapis Lazuli it held. Even an experienced legendary wizard would find it challenging to discern that they were actually plunged, in their entirety, into the world of dreams.
Without the Dream Conch, the Wilderness of Dreams would remain impenetrable as only the Conch possesses the unique ability to transport material objects into the dream world in the form of Dream Entry, and allow them to retain their effects within the dreamscape.
Without it, how could the Domain Lapis Lazuli be brought into the Wilderness of Dreams, let alone be used to sever it?
With utmost prudence, Angel tucked the Dream Conch back into his bracelet. Only then did he cast a spell of Dream Initiation upon himself.
Upon entering the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel furrowed his brows. He found himself in a place where the aura of the Nightmare Domain had not yet permeated. Without the aura of the Nightmare Domain filling the world around him, Angel was unable to shift his perspective to that of an omniscient observer, unable to scrutinize the world with a godly perspective.
Having no other choice, he stepped out of the dream, preparing to use the Dream Initiation spell again to recalibrate his location.
However, a sudden thought struck him: What if the location of the Gondola in the Wilderness of Dreams was also devoid of the aura of the Nightmare Domain? What would he do then?
This concern didn’t arise from thin air. The extent of the Wilderness of Dreams was so vast that, while the aura of the Nightmare Domain had indeed spread over a significant area, there were places that remained untouched.
If the Gondola happened to be in one such place, Angel would have no choice but to bide his time and wait, until the aura of the Nightmare Domain seeped into the location of the Gondola.
Non-living entities pulled into the Wilderness of Dreams, after all, wouldn’t wake up of their own accord. They could only be awakened by their destruction within the dream or, alternatively, if Angel destroyed the Gondola in reality.
Before initiating another dream, Angel decided to attempt a Dream Entry into the Gondola.
“May you be within the reach of the Nightmare Domain’s aura,” Angel prayed silently in his heart as he opened the Dream Bridge to the Gondola.
Some moments later, Angel closed the Dream Bridge, a trace of joy lighting up his face.
Upon entering the dreamscape of the Gondola, Angel could faintly perceive the subtle vibrations of the Nightmare Domain’s aura. The faintness of these vibrations indicated that the Gondola was probably located on the periphery of the Nightmare Domain’s aura.
But, periphery or not, as long as it was shrouded in the Nightmare Domain’s aura, that would suffice.
With newfound confidence, Angel once again cast the Dream Initiation spell upon himself.
On this occasion, Angel found himself within the scope of the Nightmare Plane, and he swiftly set his godly perspective upon the location of the Gondola. Half an hour later, he located the Gondola far to his south, a distance beyond a mere stroll.
If he had chosen to walk the distance, it would have taken him a year or so.
Angel had no choice but to exit and re-engage the Dream Initiation spell.
Thus, his time was spent in a pattern of ingress and egress, perpetually refreshing his position in the Wilderness of Dreams by employing the Dream Initiation spell upon himself.
Such was his routine for a week.
When magic was insufficient, he would meditate. Once his magic source was replenished, he would continue to weave the Dream Initiation spell.
Trying to get near the Gondola by way of luck was an extremely tedious and dull task.
Angel didn’t even dream of arriving directly near the Gondola. As long as he could reach it within a radius centered on the Gondola within half a month, he’d be satisfied.
If it took a bit longer, that wouldn’t be a problem. Still, he feared his body might not hold up. Although his metabolic rate had slowed down significantly after advancing to a level three apprentice, his body was still metabolizing.
Three days later, Angel finally found himself in a relatively close location.
About five hundred miles from the Gondola, Angel made a rough estimation. In this dream, he didn’t need to eat or drink, and if he ran continuously, he could reach his destination within a week at the latest.
Angel began to race towards the Gondola. Fortunately, he was in a dream, and thus there was no concern of physical exhaustion.
While he initially estimated a six-day journey to the Gondola, in reality, through his non-stop, high-speed running, he managed to spot the silhouette of the Gondola at the end of the wilderness after just three days.
Angel had dreamt of the Gondola before, but this was the first time he truly made contact with its physical form.
He explored every part of the Gondola, and every aspect faithfully replicated its real-world material properties. Even the special tidal effects generated by the Tide Shell at the bottom of the ship were perfectly reproduced.
“People say that the Dream Conch is a chicken rib… but now it seems its power is beyond imagination,” Angel said joyfully, caressing the Gondola. Its perfect reproduction meant that Freud’s proposed infinite alchemy could be successful.
Or rather, all the spells that require a large amount of precious material to accumulate experience could save magic crystals by using the Dream Conch.
Should it truly come to fruition, countless dangerous experiments in reality could be preliminarily previewed through the Dream Conch!
As Angel thought, his excitement grew. However, he hadn’t forgotten that the prerequisite for everything was his full control over the Wilderness of Dreams.
Calmly suppressing his emotions, Angel seated himself within the Gondola. He had categorized and arranged the materials inside, with the most crucial Domain Lapis Lazuli secured in a small compartment at the rear of the boat. Adorned in a wizard’s robe providing some defensive capabilities, and armed with weapons projected by the Dream Conch, as well as numerous spell scrolls covered in magical runes, he was ready for what was to come.
The magic crystal within the Gondola was filled to the brim; he simply needed to steer it in the right direction.
It was a long distance from here to the semi-passage, and if he were to walk, it would probably take him years to reach his destination. However, with the Gondola, the journey was significantly easier.
After about a day’s flight in the sky, the Gondola entered the area of the semi-passage teeming with the potent Nightmare Plane aura.
Soon, he laid eyes on the semi-passage’s membrane, akin to a sieve.
The membrane had not been fully ruptured, suggesting that no creatures from the Nightmare Plane had come through.
Angel had previously observed this place through the ‘godly perspective’ by exploiting his tenuous connection to the Nightmare Plane aura. This time, being there in person, he could feel the intensity of the aura far more vividly – it was almost as dense as in the actual Nightmare Plane.
Unwittingly, Angel’s curiosity was piqued. Which part of the Nightmare Plane did this semi-passage connect to?
Was it the core area or the outer region?
Of course, these thoughts were purely theoretical, as Angel had no intentions of risking his life to find out.
After positioning the Gondola to the side, Angel fetched a large bag full of Domain Lapis Lazuli. Taking a deep breath, he approached the location of the semi-passage.
He recalled the instructions in —Mystery of the Nightmare Domain— on how to sever the Interstitial Space.
There were many steps involved, but if one were to ignore the minute details, it could be boiled down to three main steps.
The first step was node measurement. This would take some time to calculate. For Sanders, with his computing capability, it would take half an hour. As for Angel, it could potentially take ten days or half a month.
However, Angel had already calculated the nodes of the semi-passage via his godly perspective half a month ago. Hence, he could skip this most arduous step.
The second step was the placement of the Domain Lapis Lazuli.
The final step involved infiltrating the Domain Lapis Lazuli with the thick Nightmare Plane aura via the Dirge of the Undertaker. Then, once the auxiliary materials on the Domain Lapis Lazuli reacted, a space sealing off the Nightmare Plane’s aura would be created.
At the moment, Angel had bypassed the first step, moving directly on to the second.
But, as Angel approached the semi-passage with the Domain Lapis Lazuli in hand, preparing to place it, an unexpected event suddenly unfolded——
