“There’s no assurance, but even a smattering of information should allow your abilities, Lord, to narrow down the field of investigation.”

Essence Blood Information is akin to a corporeal cipher of sorts. Although essence blood information alone, over a prolonged time, may not yield much information, the involvement of a prophecy wizard could perhaps deduce the identity of the subject in question.

Suis mulled over this for a moment, then turned to Angel, “Is that the extent of what can be achieved?”

“That’s all I can do.”

“Well then, even essence blood information could suffice. But how do we extract such information?” Suis inquired.

“This is a rather simple task. One needs to reverse-engineer the magic formation, although this might require a substantial amount of time.” The essence blood and Bloodline Tracing manifest compatibility, natural alterations arise such as modified edges of magical runes, variations in energy distribution, all revealing fragments of information. Simply reverse-engineering the magic formation, identifying these irregular pieces of information and organizing them, would yield the so-called essence blood information.

Ironically enough, he had also reverse-engineered the Bloodline Tracing formation in the past. However, it was to affirm the runes on the Scarlet Sovereignty, whereas now, it’s for scrutinizing the alterations of the runes.

Having reverse-engineered in the past, he finds it rather straightforward. However, within the magic formation of the Bloodline Tracing, there are numerous lines of runes that demand meticulous investigation down to the minutest detail. It will consume a considerable amount of time.

“How long would it take?”

“Roughly half a month.”

Indeed, half a month, in the context of a wizard’s timeline, isn’t extensive; their studies span across years.

However, reverse-engineering the Bloodline Tracing inevitably requires getting hands on with the finished product Scarlet Sovereignty. For Suis and Eureka, it calls for careful consideration.

“Proceed.”

Seeing Suis’s nod, Angel intended to begin the reverse-engineering after his return from the Vast Continent, but without further ado, Suis led Angel into the gloomy expanse of the Exile Space.

Suis advised, “In the open air, the aura of the Scarlet Sovereignty can easily leak. It’s better to attempt reverse-engineering here.”

Angel yearned to mention his Geometric Lock, which could confine the mysterious aura from being exposed. However, he held his tongue, realizing that the crux of the Scarlet Sovereignty was not about its mysterious aura, but its ability to be sensed by King Guman.

Moreover, there was another reason Angel didn’t reject: he also yearned for an intimate encounter with this Mysterious Object, curious if it might offer some revelations.

“Rest assured, I won’t monopolize your time. Once you’ve successfully completed the reverse-engineering, I will initiate the planar passage, sending you back to the vast Feran Continent,” Suis promised. He then gestured for Eureka to hand over the Scarlet Sovereignty to Angel.

Simultaneously, Suis released his magical pet, the two-headed dog named Subi.

“Subi is linked to my senses. If you have any issues, just let Subi communicate them to me. If you wish to leave, you can tell Subi,” explained Suis. Seeing no objections from Angel, he and Eureka exited the Exile Space.

In the void of the chaotic world, all that was left was Angel and a two-headed dog, Subi, lounging on a chair, pretending to nap.

Angel glanced at Subi. Its red, flame-like fur was unmistakable. One head was feigning sleep, while the other had its eyes covered with a black silk band.

“Subi,” Angel called out tentatively.

The head without the black band lifted, its eyes opening, revealing emerald irises as tranquil and profound as gemstones, silently observing Angel.

Internally, Angel admired, “Such an appearance, such a calm demeanor, significantly superior compared to Blaire’s wretched condition.”

Angel conveyed, “Could you convey a message to Lord Suis for me? Ask him to let Leon know that I’m here conducting research, so he won’t worry.”

Subi directly responded to Angel.

However, to Angel’s surprise, although Subi had opened its mouth to respond, the voice was actually that of Suis.

“Yes,” Suis confirmed.

“Now, before I begin reverse-engineering, could you inform me of my brother Leon’s talent?” Angel took advantage of Suis’s immediate response to inquire further.

Previously, Leon had mentioned that once his wounds healed, Suis would gauge his talent. Now, with Leon’s recovery nearing completion, it was likely his talent had already been tested.

A good while later, Suis’s cool tone echoed through the empty Exile Space.

“Bloodline branch.”

……

As Angel commenced his reverse-engineering of the magic formation, the outer Suis mulled over the matter of essence blood information.

After ruminating for quite some time, Suis cast his gaze towards Eureka. He found her quietly staring in a specific direction, the location of the Vast Continent.

“Receiving only essence blood information does have its constraints, but it appears this is the only viable method to pinpoint the bloodline holder’s whereabouts.”

“That’s how it’ll be then,” Eureka conversed telepathically with Suis, her tone suggesting uncertainty and her reply a bit perfunctory.

“Nonetheless, even with essence blood information, we will require a prophecy wizard for accurate localization, and that’s not going to be an easy task,” Suis mused with a furrowed brow.

Upon hearing about the prophecy wizard, Eureka’s expression dimmed again, a fleeting figure flashed in her mind…

Within the Exile Space, Angel wasted no time and promptly began his reverse-engineering mission.

Time elapsed, the stack of draft papers before Angel continued to grow.

Reverse-engineering was arduous, but the opportunity to study the Scarlet Sovereignty artifact up-close brought Angel joy. However, he remained extremely cautious, strictly limiting his research to observation, never daring to physically touch the object. After all, the mysterious capabilities of the Scarlet Sovereignty were still unknown to him, and he preferred not to entangle himself too deeply in this affair.

Soon, a fortnight passed.

As the final stroke was laid, it heralded the conclusion of Angel’s reverse-engineering study, a journey of reverse-engineering that had come full circle.

Upon verifying the deductions were infallible, Angel didn’t immediately beckon Suis, but instead, lingered his gaze upon the Scarlet Sovereignty, a thought bubbling in his mind.

—What reaction would the Dream Conch of the Moonlit Coast have when faced with the Scarlet Sovereignty?

Could the Dream Conch pull the Scarlet Sovereignty into the Wilderness of Dreams?

If it were indeed possible, the opportunities for manipulation would significantly expand. In the future, introducing more Mysterious Objects into the Wilderness of Dreams would inevitably strengthen the defensive prowess within. It’s plausible that as the quantity of Mysterious Objects within the dream-state increases, the colossal entity, that initially spied on the Wilderness of Dreams as if it was a miniature garden, could also be dealt with.

Excitement was stirring within Angel, the urge to test his hypothesis was almost irresistible.

However, he decided not to experiment clandestinely, but instead, to openly share his plans with Suis.

By stating his intentions forthrightly, suspicions from Suis could be nipped in the bud.

After all, in the eyes of Suis, the Dream Conch was merely a redundant object, a tool for Angel to investigate the mysterious in alchemy. The assumption that Angel might want to use the Dream Conch to pull the Scarlet Sovereignty into the dream-state, was likely perceived as merely an experimental recording.

Contrarily, secret tests might spark his suspicion.

After Angel instructed Subi to summon Suis, he voiced his plan.

As anticipated, Suis didn’t overthink the situation, believing Angel was acting on a whim to test the capabilities of the Dream Conch, thus giving his consent. However, due to the serious implications of the Scarlet Sovereignty, Suis and Eureka entered the Exile Space to observe Angel’s “experiment” and ensure that no unexpected sparks ignited between the Sovereignty and Dream Conch.

With Suis’s approval, Angel boldly brought out the Dream Conch, placing it alongside the Scarlet Sovereignty on the table.

Eureka, laying eyes on the Dream Conch once again, couldn’t help but shake her head and sigh, “Ah, such a valuable Mysterious Object with such a chicken-ribbed effect.”

“Right, was your previous study of dream manipulation specifically for understanding the Dream Conch?” Suis curiously asked Angel.

“Yes.” Angel responded tersely, afraid that any additional inquiries from Suis would unveil his lies. Thus, after answering Suis’s question, he immediately started working with the Dream Conch.

A mysterious ripple gently emanated from the very heart of the Dream Conch, attempting to gradually encase the Scarlet Sovereignty in its soft embrace.

However, as the obscure fluctuation from the Dream Conch encompassed the outer region of the Scarlet Sovereignty, it was unable to penetrate further. It was as though an invisible shroud enrobed the Scarlet Sovereignty, acting as a barrier to the infiltration of this mysterious undulation.

After a while, Angel reluctantly stowed away the Dream Conch with a tinge of regret. “It didn’t work. It seems that the Dream Conch isn’t capable of drawing the Mysterious Object into its dream scape.”

Suis and Eureka, witnessing the scene, were not taken aback.

Eureka, with an even light-hearted jest, teased, “Imagine if the Mysterious Object was truly pulled into the realm of dreams. Would the creatures residing there, stumbling upon the Scarlet Sovereignty, not have a skyrocketing ascension as portrayed in some novelistic scripts?”

“Dream creatures are ultimately illusory. Even if they were decked out in Mysterious Objects from head to toe, they’re nothing to fret over,” Suis rebutted with a dismissive sneer.

A quiet chuckle rose within Angel, obviously sensing Suis’s misunderstanding about the dream creatures. The colossal being he had once observed in the dream realm did not strike him as a mere paper tiger.

As they bantered, Angel handed back the Scarlet Sovereignty and the painstakingly derived information to Suis, preparing himself to depart.

“All other drafts have been destroyed. This is the only remaining conclusion,” Angel paused, shrugging offhandedly, “When all’s said and done, I’ve probably forgotten it myself.”

Suis grasped Angel’s meaning. From the get-go, Angel had made it clear that he didn’t wish to be entangled in this affair.

With a nod, Suis replied, “It’s probably for the best that you’ve forgotten.”

“Does this imply the moment has arrived for you to lead me out?” Angel inquired, “I haven’t met up with mentor Jon in quite a while, I yearn for a chance to pay him a visit.”

After guiding Angel out of the Exile Space, Suis pronounced, “When you’ve readied yourself for departure, come seek me out. I’ll carve a path through the planar passage to escort you back to the Vast Continent.”

With those words, without lingering further, Suis spun around to reactivate the grand portal of the Exile Space, dissolving into the ether.

Originally, Angel had intended to strike a deal with Piers, the captain of Ashen Time, asking him for a one-way ticket. However, since Suis had volunteered the offer, Angel could save a considerable amount of magic crystals.

Angel turned and began pacing towards his quarters.

Throughout his journey, Angel maintained a composed expression until he reached his room where his countenance finally mirrored his puzzlement.

Earlier, he had planned to drag the Scarlet Sovereignty into the Wilderness of Dreams with the Dream Conch, only to conclude that the endeavor was futile.

The conclusion was undoubtedly true, yet during the observation process, Angel faintly noticed an oddity.
