A burst of jasmine fragrance came to the tip of his nose, which should be the perfume the girl had daubed.

A warm glow from the orange candlelight in the hallway had shone on the girl’s face as well as the light coming into the half-open window of the study.

Her fingers are lightly placed on the blue robe as it gently sways with a soft touch.

This is real, incomparably real.

This is a reality that no virtual game can ever simulate.

Otto Braun took a deep breath and looked at the girl in front of him who was waiting for his response. The feeling of talking with a real person was simply beyond what a so-called game could do.

A soul.

Yes, he felt the soul of a normal person residing in this girl.

The dialogue wasn’t rigid like speaking to a game NPC but more like talking with a real living person.

The appearance of this girl had shattered some of his original assumptions, but after those thoughts were shattered, more ideas turned even hotter.

<< Glory >> isn’t simple, and it wasn’t just a virtual game.

What’s the secret behind all this?

Why does China want to promote and sell this game?

As Otto Braun’s thoughts turned, his face returned to normal without too much fluctuation in his eyes.

He shook his head and put on a cold face.

“Verna, send lunch to my magic laboratory, I will eat it there.”

Verna couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed when she heard the somewhat indifferent voice.

She saw the light in Otto Braun’s eyes just now and became a little joyful in her heart.

But in a blink of an eye, the owner of the Scarlet Magic Tower, the object of her greatest adoration, returned to his former calm demeanour.

“Yes, Lord Otto Braun.”

With a sense of loss, she turned around and went down to make the arrangements.

Does Lord Otto Braun really not like women?

Verna couldn’t help feeling a little down at the thought of the strange rumours circulating in the mage tower.

How many people dream of becoming a woman who belongs to a senior mage? Especially Lord Otto Braun who was so handsome.

Verna couldn’t help biting her lips at the thought of that pale handsome face.

Otto Braun breathed a sigh of relief as he watched Verna’s graceful figure walk away.

After meeting Verna, he wouldn’t regard these living people as NPCs.

Because the original owner of the body was a vampire, a race that has always been hated by humans. This is why he has kept a certain distance from the apprentices in the mage tower.

Once his true identity of being a vampire is discovered, if he were to still remain in Green City, a metropolis with millions of humans and a transcendent mage.

No matter how strong he was, a vampire ancestor could never escape.

If Verna were placed in another mage tower, he’s afraid she would’ve already been eaten up by the mage tower’s master.

In this tower, however, given the original body’s owner, Verna was treated as just another ordinary mage apprentice as a form of cover.

Naturally, as the new owner of the body, he wouldn’t rashly change the original owner’s living habits and would be extra cautious in not appearing out of character.

The Scarlet Mage Tower, named for the red alchemical paint on the outer walls of the mage tower, has seven floors and is 25-blades high.

A blade is a measurement of length in Glory, one blade = one meter.

The first and second floors were where mage apprentices lived while the third and fourth floors were where Otto Braun gave lectures and all books were collected.

The fifth floor is where he lives,

The sixth and seventh floors are where the warehouse for magical materials and magic laboratory is located.

He was originally a vampire ancestor, but he was completely obsessed with magic.

But because the originator of this vampire bloodline is Otto Braun, a human who accidentally swallowed up a vampire treasure two hundred years ago, his bloodline was only established after he became a vampire ancestor.

So, his background was too shallow.

That’s why he went through all the trouble of sneaking into Green City to join the Mage Guild to learn magic.

This mage tower was built with the help of the Mage Guild after Otto Braun arrived in Green City three years ago.

Otto Braun couldn’t help shaking his head a bit after learning about the origin of this vampire ancestor.

The title of vampire ancestor is big enough, but in fact, it’s not as big a deal as a second-rate aristocrat in Green City.

At least these aristocrats don’t have to head into enemy territory to steal magic lessons due to the lack of resources.

But in any case, all the efforts made by this vampire ancestor now belong to him.

When he walked out of the study, he noticed the floor was made of grey alchemical material while the wall was faintly flashing with auras from magical traps.

A mage tower is a mage’s lair and the most dangerous place in the world for outsiders.

In Otto Braun’s memory, there are no fewer than 500 magic formations depicted in this mage tower.

If an unsightly thief breaks in without permission, as long as they trigger one of these traps, they will be blasted to death.

Following the ash wood staircase to the seventh floor, he reaches the highest point in the mage tower.

This is where Otto Braun usually performs his magic experiments.

On the seventh floor, there was only a singular large room which had a floor made completely of anti-magic wood.

The light enters through a large stained-glass window on the left side of the room.

The surrounding walls are made of alchemy materials and are depicted with dozens of defensive magic formations. Even if the magic experiment results in an explosion, the mage tower won’t be damaged.

The room was littered with all sorts of magic materials.

The head of a one-eyed beast, branches from a snow maple tree, magic crystal ore from Orla, and hundreds of poisonous vines which have yet to be ground into powder were littered all over the floor.

Walking up to the stained-glass window, which was said to be produced by the artistically gifted elves, he looks down.

Without much appreciation for the works of elves, Otto Braun pushes aside the brightly coloured translucent glass, and for the first time, sees the true face of Green City, the largest city in the south belonging to the Norland Empire with a population in the millions.

The city stretched as far as the eye can see with no end in sight.

The mage tower with a height of 25 blades is an absolute high-rise building in Green City. In this magical world where productivity is low, even the aristocrats couldn’t possess such a high rising building.

He has a panoramic view of all the sights and scenery throughout the city.

The city had a medieval European-style architecture with buildings standing erect as the houses on the street were clustered around domes and spires. The windows of the buildings were painted with colourful patterns, mostly depicting many different religions or gods.

Far above the city walls is a carved stone statue of a human figure. This is a statue of a hero who had sacrificed themselves for Green City.

At a crossroads, a steeple towers above a tavern building while red-faced drunks stumble in and out of the half-round arch.

He noticed the shops on both sides of the street offering to sell all kinds of goods. Then he saw the surrounding commoners retreating in panic after seeing a unicorn riding aristocrat wearing a gorgeous costume pacing down the bluestone paved streets.

Under the command of luxuriously dressed merchants, the labourers in tattered tunics unloaded the goods from the wagons using huge burlap sacks.

Several beggars dressed in tattered clothes looked at the passers-by with imploring eyes, reaching out and hoping for any alms to be tossed into the broken bowls stained black by their dirty hands.

A band of slave traders led a group of tall, strong, sharp-fanged orcs in iron chains as they swaggered proudly along the road, not even yielding when facing the aristocrats who rode on horses.

A group of mercenaries who have just finished their mission walked past some beggars while covered from head to toe in black blood. One of the beggars accidentally falls to the ground and blocks the path of a mercenary.

The mercenary’s eyes grow cold, and the big sword in hand, wider than two palms, directly cuts off the beggar’s hand. Then the noisy street was instantly filled with blood.

The beggar screamed and groaned frantically because of the pain.

The aristocrats turned a blind eye to this common scene as the slave traders had only laughter written all over their faces. None of the commoners dared to stand up and stop the retreating mercenaries who had already walked so far away.

The wailing beggar was thus ignored by the passing crowd.

It wasn’t until an owner of a shop down the street could no longer bear to watch that the beggar was given food and medicine.

After seeing all these scenes, Otto Braun didn’t open his mouth to speak for a long time.

The cultural background here is similar to Europe during the Middle Ages but was far more mysterious than the Middle Ages, where ignorance coexists with ignorance and mystery goes hand in hand with the gods.

Aristocrats, slaves, orcs, elves, vampires.

A wonderful and cruel world.

At the same time, a world of magic.

Otto Braun raises his eyes and looked up.

Looking far in the distance of Green City, three tall mage towers come into view.

These are the mage towers built by the three most powerful mages of the Green City Mage Guild.

The master of each mage tower is at the very least a grand mage who is level 15.
