Chapter 1017 Déjà Vu at the Scene

Chapter 1016 Point of No Return <TOC> Chapter 1018 Spatio-Temporal Mystery

A man, pallid of face, clothed in a trim-fit suit of deep forest green, his hair as dark as the night, knitted his brows tightly: “From what we see, the world on the other side seems to be a desert. The potential gains from it should be limited, shouldn’t they?”

“That’s not necessarily the case,” replied an aged woman with snowy hair. Adorned in radiant golden attire, she caught the eye most strikingly with a pair of ear ornaments shaped like cranberries, their red as deep and intense as freshly drawn blood.

“But even if there are resources in a desert, wouldn’t they be scant?” he queried further.

“The moment called ‘Moment of Plunder’ is not christened as such without reason,” the white-haired lady said indifferently, “When the World Will manifests, the enemy’s top combat power is laid bare… The Southern Region hasn’t merged with such an expansive world for thousands of years. The initial two stages of fusion alone took a full week, proving that the world beyond is far from being ordinary.”

As she spoke, exclamations and gasps suddenly echoed around them.

Everyone looked up to see an enormous sandworm, projected in the sky against the backdrop of swirling desert sand. It emerged briefly from the sand, directed a venomous gaze at the people of Paramjit Plateau, and burrowed back into the desert.

“Such a huge worm!” “It’s at least a wizard-level monster!” “I wonder if it’s poisonous, can it be tamed?” “What sort of materials could we get from it?”

The crowd was abuzz with speculation.

At this moment, the white-haired old woman turned to the black-haired man beside her, saying, “You see, we won’t return empty-handed from the other side. The Wizarding World has been merging for so long, which means the laws over there are very stable. A world with stable laws is bound to have its highlights.”

“Judging by the physical features of that sandworm, it’s likely to be a social creature. Moreover, its overwhelming aura and ability to incite such a wild sandstorm suggest that it’s at the wizard level.”

“A horde of wizard-level monsters — you should understand their value, Symbian.”

Symbian, the black-haired man, was silent for a moment, “Lady Dany, even if there are wizard-level monsters, we can’t kill them instantly. If the fight lasts even a bit longer, there are bound to be others who will want a share of the pie!”

As Symbian spoke, his gaze darted menacingly towards a distant location.

Lady Dany, the white-haired old woman, is a second-level wizard from Gravity Forest. Following Symbian’s gaze, she glanced over to see amongst a group of powerful wizard teams, a woman baring delicate, bare feet, holding a delicate blood-colored umbrella, with a black veil covering her face, was flashing them a wickedly charming smile.

Even more provocatively, she extended her finger and gave a provocative little hook. The teasing intent was undeniable.

“Damn it, how arrogant!” Symbian seethed, “At the time of our presence in the Bottle of Garden, had it not been for the relentless obstructions by Flora and Rhine, we wouldn’t have walked away empty-handed! Their provocations are blatant and unmissable.”

The opposing formation of wizards belonged to the Savage Grottoes, and the lady twirling the floral parasol was none other than Flora, known as the “Bloody Witch”.

Lady Dany’s eyes held a shadowy gleam. She spoke softly, “We of Gravity Forest share deep-seated enmity with Phantom Island and have a long-standing feud. This is, after all, the home ground of the Savage Grottoes. Their efforts to prevent us from acquiring the Fragment of Constants are not unexpected.”

Not long ago, they had crossed paths in the Abyss, making their mutual animosity inevitable.

“Are we to simply bear this insult?” Symbian exclaimed, his pallor turning a furious shade of red.

Lady Dany withdrew her gaze and uttered, “Indeed, we will endure.”

Upon hearing this, Symbian’s eyes blazed with unabated anger. Back in the day, Sanders and Flora had swindled ‘Treeman’ Poku and acquired the Fragment of Constants to construct the Gravity Garden. No matter how you looked at it, they were in the right!

But it never occurred to Symbian that their insistence on justice stemmed from their weakness. When they were in a position of power, who would care about fairness?

Moreover, the Wizarding World was never a place for justice.

Seeing the rage in Symbian’s eyes intensify, Lady Dany whispered, “Remember, our goal is not the Savage Grottoes but the one in the Abyss…”

From the beginning, Gravity Forest had never dared to confront Savage Grottoes directly. And indeed, there was no advantage in doing so. Their focus remained on Sanders and the Gravity Garden he possessed!

Gravity Forest also had a Gravity Garden. If it could merge with Sanders’ Gravity Garden… they would leap towards a higher level.

“But he is in the Abyss, and our previous attempt failed.”

Lady Dany glanced at the “Sea God” Florence standing on the opposing side and whispered a name, “Don’t forget, we still have… Imagan!”

Hearing Imagan’s name, Symbian slowly calmed down, a complicated look in his eyes.

Imagan was a member of the Song of the Deep Sea, immensely powerful. Yet the rumors concerning him seldom focused on his strength but rather his origin.

Rumor had it that Imagan harbored an otherworldly bloodline in his body. Some even claimed that he was a vessel for the soul of a giant from another world.

Hence, Imagan was constantly under the scrutiny of the Extreme Sect all year round. Nevertheless, his immense strength and the deep involvement of the Song of the Deep Sea faction in his background made it very difficult to undermine him.

The memory of the planar fusion in the Devil’s Sea territory where Sirius and the two-star nen master “Fraven” Jodico from the Hante World sealed them off with the Silencing Barrier was still fresh in their minds.

It was clear from that, the Song of the Deep Sea had undeniable connections with creatures from other planes.

“Are we really going to align ourselves with Imagan?” Symbian hesitated a bit, after all, the other party’s identity was extremely dubious.

The eyes of Lady Dany darkened. The plateau’s cold wind blew her full head of white hair, and her ethereal voice echoed in Symbian’s ears: “Making deals with devils, a practice that has never ceased throughout history. Wizards are a very pragmatic group of people. As long as the benefits are high enough, even if it means collaborating with the demons of the Abyss, why not?”

At the end of these words, both Symbian and Lady Dany fell silent.

When they spoke again, they smoothly moved past the previous topic with mutual understanding.

“Once the Moment of Plunder begins, we will immediately distance ourselves from the crowd and search in desolate places in the other world. In particular, we must avoid the people from the Savage Grottoes,” Lady Dany suggested.

Symbian nodded: “I understand.”

Lady Dany stated calmly, “The Savage Grottoes can only boast about now, based on the prophecy of the last Star Observing Day, the fully solidified entrance of this planar fusion will certainly not appear on the Paramjit Plateau.”

Such a massive otherworld, if the solidified entrance is also on the Paramjit Plateau, it can virtually be called the Savage Grottoes’ backyard.

Even in the beginning, Rhine was so proactive in his arrangements, considering moving the Savage Grottoes’ main base — the Mirror World to this soon-to-be-solidified new subsidiary plane.

Therefore, the fact that the solidified entrance is not on the Paramjit Plateau can be said to be a massive blow to the Savage Grottoes. Although they don’t want to oppose the Savage Grottoes, they would feel a sense of satisfaction seeing the Savage Grottoes in a bind.

“Speaking of Star Observing Day, based on the prophecy of ‘The Falseness Reader’, Shura, someone will gain a great opportunity in this planar fusion. But the Moment of Plunder is almost upon us, has this so-called great opportunity been claimed?” Symbian asked curiously.

Indeed, the Bottle of Garden of this planar fusion has launched many Fragments of Constant. Even though Rhine and Florence grabbed the majority, many wizard organizations still shared about forty to fifty percent.

Calling it a “great opportunity” didn’t seem to fit well.

As for the Boundless Path stage, although it possessed great opportunities, no wizard could claim them.

“Could it be that the monumental opportunity refers to the Moment of Plunder?” Symbian posed with an air of uncertainty.

Indeed, many had arrived at the same conjecture. Although prior gains had been plentiful, they paled in comparison to this monumental opportunity.

Thus, every wizard present was waiting with bated breath for the advent of this “Moment of Plunder.”

As the desert mirage in the sky grew increasingly vivid, all wizards were already rubbing their hands in anticipation. Once the sky’s reflection became a reality, it would signal the successful fusion of the planes, and also presage the opening of the Moment of Plunder!

At this point, several wizards had already taken to the air, ready to dive into the world beyond at the exact moment the reflection becomes a reality.

A quarter of an hour later, Rhine and Florence began their preparations, and members of the wizard factions on both sides began to pour towards the sky.

Lady Dany’s expression became significantly more solemn at this moment, “Get ready, the planar fusion is about to end!”

Symbian nodded, and the rest of the wizards from the Gravity Forest also showed serious expressions.

As time relentlessly marched on…

One minute, two minutes…five minutes…ten minutes…

Some wizards, grown impatient, even descended from the sky back to the ground.

The planar fusion still hadn’t concluded, and the so-called “Moment of Plunder” hadn’t kicked off. Instead, the sky’s reflection slowly began to grow indistinct.

Everyone was left puzzled, wondering what could have possibly gone wrong?

Lady Dany and Symbian exchanged a glance, feeling an eerie sense of Déjà Vu at the Scene on hand!

During the planar fusion at the Devil’s Sea, a problem had also arisen at this crucial juncture! That planar fusion had ultimately failed!

Were they doomed to repeat past mistakes?

Just as their hearts were filled with trepidation, the clear and boundless sky suddenly emitted a deafening thunderous sound.

“Thunder?” The crowd lifted their gaze, “Why is there a sudden thunderstorm?”

What came with the thunder was the gradual formation of dark clouds.

“What’s going on?”

At this point, everyone discerned that something was amiss. The fusion of planes wasn’t an uncommon occurrence in history. Even some wizard families with a bit of heritage had corresponding records.

However, in the records spanning nearly ten thousand years, such a situation had never arisen.

During a planar fusion, the physical manifestation of the World Will was present; a gathering of storm clouds was an impossibility. Yet, it had happened now… What did this imply?

Could it be that this planar fusion, just like the one that occurred in the Devil’s Sea years ago, was headed for failure?

If it were indeed bound to fail, what would be the cause of this failure? Would the consecutive failures imply that the Southern Region’s Wizarding World could no longer accommodate new subordinate planes in the future?

As everyone was caught in a whirlwind of emotions and anxiously awaiting the outcome——

Drip, drip.

The heavens opened, pouring down a torrential rainstorm.
