There is a vast ocean tinged with grey in its azure expanse.

Since time immemorial, the ocean has been riddled with whirlpools. Ocean currents bring hurricanes, and waterspouts reach for the heavens. Mist, gales, and gloom make the region resemble a doomscape.

Not only whirlpools dance on the ocean surface, but occasionally snake-like figures roll about, bringing a potent stench with their antics.

At that moment, above the ocean, Rhine rode a flying vessel, murmuring, “The Nagas have taken over the Whirlpools of the Dark Depths Ocean, it seems the likelihood of this place becoming a battlefield has greatly reduced.”

Upon finishing, Rhine glanced at Sanders on the other side. However, Sanders gave no reaction.

Sanders sat with eyes closed, his breath slow and rhythmic.

After what felt like ages, Sanders opened his eyes, a peculiar energy emanating from him.

“Dream power?” Rhine looked at Sanders quizzically, “Have you been feigning sleep this whole time, just to understand the power of dreams?”

Sanders casually replied, “I just didn’t want to keep my eyes open to see this flying vessel. Since they were closed, I decided to try and grasp the power of dreams.”

Sanders cast a disgusted look below him. The flying vessel they were riding, was named the ‘Rainbow Eye.’

The name seemed harmless, but its shape was that of a giant crystal ball.

The fact it was a crystal ball was one thing, but it earned its moniker “Rainbow Eye” due to the multicolored glow emanating from its center. As the crystal ball cut across the sky, these radiant streams traced a rainbow-like tail across the firmament, giving off a dreamlike aesthetic.

All things considered, there was nothing inappropriate about the Rainbow Eye, it was swift and even came with a rainbow force field. However, the Rainbow Eye was clearly more suited for witches, and it felt incredibly out of place for the two grown men to ride it.

This made Sanders miss Angel’s Gondola dearly. Although the Gondola also had a dreamy appearance, it was a vista of ancient starry nights. Compared to the vibrantly radiant Rainbow Eye, it held a certain elegance.

“When I initially commissioned the Rainbow Eye from the Platinum Alchemist, I intended it as a gift for Samantha. However, her refusal left me with no choice but to let it gather dust in my ring,” declared Rhine. “Had it not been challenging to replenish magic in the Abyss, I would have never brought it out.”

“Was it truly a sacrifice for you?” Sanders snorted, suspecting Rhine’s jubilant hoarding upon Samantha’s refusal. After all, Rhine was an incurable devotee of crystal balls.

Rhine grinned slyly, “That doesn’t matter. It’s just being used here for a while, and no one is witnessing, right?”

“But someone saw it back in Kodo Port.”

“Don’t worry, we flew so high that no one could discern our features,” Rhine paused, “Besides, nearly all wizards from Kodo Port have relocated to Sky Island. Those remaining are mere apprentices; their eyes can’t penetrate the rainbow force field.”

Sanders held his tongue. If it weren’t for the pressing circumstances, he’d loathe mounting the Rainbow Eye.

As it happened, they had just departed from Kodo Port, one of the eight frontline bases in the Abyss. Sanders had intended to check if Sineva and Canter were lingering in Kodo Port, as they had planned to transition there after departing Watchtower Fortress.

But reality manifested differently. They left behind a fraction of apprentices in Kodo Port, while the rest of the wizards, Sineva, Samantha, Canter included, had all detoured to Sky Island.

Indeed, as Rhine previously stated, the Dark Depths Ocean Whirlpool, currently under Naga Demon control, would not be traversed by the descendant of the targeted Demon God. The servant of another Demon God, the Naga Demon, understood the concept of loyalty among Demon Gods.

Since the progeny of the Demon God that Lord Mengke hunted wouldn’t take this path, it was unnecessary to stay in Kodo Port. Therefore, everyone turned their course towards Sky Island.

Sanders and Rhine had no choice but to divert from Kodo Port to Sky Island.

“Enough of these trifles, tell me, do you have a new research subject?” Rhine pivoted, eyeing Sanders with curious intent. At his stage, he probably held a greater curiosity for the pursuit of knowledge, but he could roughly guess the majority of the wizards’ research topics at a glance, lacking any inspiring spark.

Hence, he showed no interest in the projects of average wizards. In contrast, he was very keen on the subjects of top wizards like Sanders.

“What proposition?” Sanders cast a skeptical gaze at Rhine, his brows furrowed in uncertainty.

Rhine’s grin was all but illuminating as he said, “Dreams.”

His disbelief was evident. Sanders wouldn’t just take an interest in the power of dreams out of the blue. There had to be some hidden intricacies behind this.

Based on Rhine’s shallow understanding, dreams and illusions did seem to bear some semblance. Perhaps Sanders had stumbled upon something and intended to fuse the two, bringing forth a new subject of study?

With a chuckle and a shake of his head, Sanders retorted, “Not at all. My interest in the power of dreams stems purely from my desire to learn some dream-related tricks.”

“Is it really that simple?”

After a moment of contemplation, Sanders replied, “Speaking of subjects, I do indeed have a research proposition concerning dreams and illusions. However, this proposition was not proposed by me, but by Angel.”

Rhine could sense the overt pride in Sanders’ voice as he mentioned Angel.

“So, it’s Angel…” Rhine mused, “That’s interesting indeed. The fusion of dreams and illusions may give rise to some novel ideas.” Despite his words, Rhine’s interest seemed to have dwindled significantly. Even though he was hopeful about Angel’s potential, Angel hadn’t yet reached a certain level, and his research would surely be constrained by his limited vision.

As Angel’s research was unlikely to be of any use to him, and Sanders’ study of dream-related tricks was probably meant to impart knowledge from mentor to Angel, Rhine refrained from making any further comments.

Sanders, discerning the shift in Rhine’s demeanor, also understood his reasoning. In the depths of his heart, he shook his head. If only Rhine knew about Angel’s study of the Wilderness of Dreams, which could reshape the entire landscape of the Wizarding World, his enthusiasm would hardly be so lackluster.

Nonetheless, Sanders had no intention of revealing the details of the Wilderness of Dreams just yet. Yet, as Angel’s mentor, he couldn’t help but defend him:

“His research might one day take everyone by surprise.”

Rhine shrugged, his response noncommittal, “Well then, I look forward to seeing it.”

After several hours of flight, they had departed from the jurisdiction of the Dark Depths Ocean Whirlpool, with Sky Island growing progressively closer.

Yet, as the moments ticked away, Sanders’ expression gradually morphed into one of deep concern.

Rhine was aware that Sanders was worried about Angel’s circumstances.

“Angel left a message saying he was headed for Ice Valley. That gives us a degree of assurance regarding his safety. Moreover, the Abyss Dragon of Ice Valley has rarely been reported to slaughter humans,” Rhine paused, the most puzzling point being the identity of the person who had taken Angel.

The fact that Angel was allowed to leave a message suggests that the perpetrator didn’t mind Angel disclosing his location, was this an entity with immense self-confidence in their power?

“We’re almost at Sky Island, once we deliver the message, we’ll change course for Ice Valley.”

Not long after these words were spoken, they came across a vast stretch of inland water.

The water body was extensively spread out, surrounded by verdant forests teeming with lush vegetation. Such rich natural resources were indeed rare in the Abyss.

Traveling along the water for a while, they came upon a spectacle.

A wide expanse of waterfalls unveiled before their eyes.

These waterfalls were vast and turbulent, creating a breathtaking spectacle as the cascading water shattered like pearls, giving the impression of snow crashing down. While such a scene would be eye-opening for the average person, to a wizard, it was rather ordinary.

What made it a “spectacle,” however, was the fact that these waterfalls were flowing upside down.

It was as if they had escaped gravity, at one point the water seemed to turn upside down, flowing directly from the ground up to the sky, and above the sky was a massive floating island.

This was Sky Island!

The surroundings appeared serene, Rhine let out a slight sigh of relief, “Looks like the Olaf Tentacle Crab hasn’t been consumed yet, the doom hasn’t spread.”

However, as they approached the Sky Island, their expressions suddenly shifted.

A tremendous and terrifying aura was slowly rising from within Sky Island.

Simultaneously, in one corner of the Sky Island, a door materialized out of thin air and a chubby figure suddenly ran out in a hurry. As he ran, he relayed a message to those in the central palace of the Sky Island.

In the heart of the central hall, Sineva’s brows furrowed into a pensive frown.

“What’s the matter?” Samantha queried, her gaze filled with uncertainty.

After a brief hesitation, Sineva responded, “Bruen just relayed a message to me. The ancient evil god of the Lovecraftian World he hopes to resurrect is undergoing some anomalies. Its emotional threshold is rapidly descending, about to shift from a state of tranquility to a state of fear.”

As Sineva spoke, everyone present in the central hall momentarily entered a state of absent-mindedness, as a wave of malevolent thought that incited terror from the very core emanated slowly from the vicinity.

At this moment, Angel was swiftly heading towards the Translayer Gate.

Although Odeklaes had left a Mark of Flame on him to avert baseless killings by demons to some extent, it didn’t imply all demons would spare him.

In order not to draw attention from the demons, he refrained from taking the Gondola. Instead, he invoked the Dark Night Flyover runes, darting through the low-altitude forests that provided cover.

Simultaneously, through an illusion spell, he transformed his eyes into an abyssal black—both the iris and the sclera had turned into an unbroken sea of darkness.

—This was the characteristic appearance of the native inhabitants of the Abyss.

While demons might not necessarily hold these Abyss natives in high regard, at the very least, their appearance was far more palatable than that of humans.

A ghostly glimmer flickered beneath Angel’s feet as he landed on the edge of a cliff.

Not far ahead stood the Translayer Gate — precisely the one he, alongside the Frost Moon team, had passed through when he first entered the Abyss.

Angel could already faintly make out the massive threshold in the gorge.

However, he chose not to enter, instead, he cast a glance over his shoulder.

There, a sexy short-haired woman in black leather was nonchalantly trailing him.

“Esteemed Lady Fafnir, do you intend to accompany me to La Sutherland?” he asked.
