Samantha never so much as glanced over her shoulder. The demon attempting a sneak attack on her from behind found its strike go astray, its arm wielding the colossal claw plunged into a glass-like world.

This glass-like world, distorted by beams of light, was slowly pulling it in…

Samantha didn’t turn around until the demon was fully drawn into the Glass World.

“You don’t seem surprised at all?” Samantha arched an eyebrow. “I recall you were the one who proposed this idea to me in the first place.”

Sanders, watching the subtly distorting beams of light behind Samantha, spoke with a cold and slightly sarcastic tone, “The original concept was a ‘Glazed Paradise’ that folded all light and altered tidal shifts, not what’s in front of us now…”

“——A Shattered Glass Space.”

Samantha’s smile faltered, her expression growing somber.

Sanders, however, didn’t seem to care about Samantha’s mood at all. “Nevertheless, Lord Rhine Mute would undoubtedly be reassured to see this. His daughter can hold her own, and thus he will have no more hesitations.”

There were two things Samantha loathed: the first was the term ‘shattered glass’, and the second was when others discussed her relationship with Rhine Mute.

It was clear that Sanders was deliberately pushing her buttons. He finished speaking with a seemingly indifferent gaze, but Samantha couldn’t help but sense a provocative undercurrent.

Samantha kept taking deep breaths, forcefully suppressing the wrath boiling within her. Here and now was not the time for internal disputes or bickering.

“Perhaps one day, you might venture forth to experience whether this is a Shattered Glass Space or Glazed Paradise,” she intoned, her voice biting cold. With a disdainful snort, she turned her attention to the menacing demons surrounding her, aiming to vent the displeasure seeded by Sanders.

Samantha charged fearlessly at the demons. In this Glass World, she stood as a relentless butcher, sharp as a honed blade, seizing any demon of lesser might and sentencing them to punishment within her glassy dominion. In mere moments, carnage ensued — demon flesh was strewn about, and body parts fell from the sky like gruesome rain.

A sense of admiration flickered in Sanders’ eyes. Despite his spoken jest that it was but a Shattered Glass Space, his heart was imbued with a deeper reverence.

“What can I say? She’s truly Rhine’s daughter,” Sanders thought inwardly. Both her strength and talent were top-notch. The initial concept of his envisioned Glazed Paradise was but an idea, yet he was taken aback by Samantha’s audacity to truly bring it to life, thereby embarking on her path towards true knowledge.

It was no wonder that even Lord Mengke, upon learning of Samantha’s lineage, couldn’t resist including her within the Frost Moon Alliance.

Sanders was not a man who was stingy with compliments, but his particular attitude towards Samantha had its reasons. Partly due to personal sentiments — he didn’t want to foster any misconceptions in Samantha. Secondly, although she had done well, her spell-casting model was still largely shadowed by Sanders’ influence, which could prove detrimental to her future path. His seemingly indifferent attitude was in hopes that Samantha might glean this realization.

Lost in his musings, Sanders couldn’t help but think of Angel.

Blessed with remarkable talent as well, Angel’s thought process was truly free and unbounded. He was not confined by the conventional path of illusion spells, choosing to tread his own path, daringly making choices along the way.

Such individuals, being marked by the Time Thief, is hardly surprising.

Alas…

Sanders heaved a quiet sigh. The real issue lies in their knack for stirring up trouble. Causing chaos isn’t inherently bad, but lacking the strength to back it up is indeed problematic.

“Upon our return, I hope Angel can find some tranquility. Ideally, he should suppress his inclination towards mischief and focus on enhancing his abilities,” Sanders pondered quietly.

During his contemplation, Sanders continued his offensive.

Several demons lay before him, a handful of lesser demons forming a protective circle around a Bone Demon.

Sanders moved with the grace and ease of a gentleman strolling through his garden, evading attacks in mid-air with a back-and-forth swing. None of the attacks even came close, let alone land a hit. His black cloak with golden runes fluttered proudly, scoffing at their futile attempts.

In due time, the Bone Demon, whose power far exceeded that of the lesser demons, made its move. Sanders, swiftly responding to the formidable foe, casually cast several phantasm-like clusters of energy. These struck the lesser demons that were waiting to pounce from the sidelines. Once they fell into a frenzied illusion, Sanders turned his gaze to the Bone Demon.

The Bone Demon resembled a Goat Demon to a great extent, with its curled horns, menacing visage, and goat-like legs. Its prefix ‘Bone’ comes from the exoskeleton it boasts, positioned on its chest.

This external bone is its most powerful weapon, capable of extending and spreading at will, while remaining incredibly flexible. Its sharpness can be controlled, making it not just a bone structure, but also a potent weapon combining defense and offense.

The Bone Demon found itself in a peculiar configuration at this moment. Its exoskeleton had elongated and stretched beyond thirty meters, coiling around itself like a whip, with the demon encased at the core. Sharp spikes whirled frenziedly on the surface of the exoskeleton. Should any adversary dare approach, they would be met with a fearsome shredding force, even if the demon remained still.

This circular formation served a dual purpose: it could guard the demon’s body while simultaneously dealing damage to its enemies. It was the Bone Demon’s signature exoskeletal pattern.

Sanders found himself facing this all-encompassing, far-reaching assault and fell back a few steps. This appeared to fill the Bone Demon with a sense of smug satisfaction. However, Sanders merely responded with a single action after retreating. He removed his meticulously crafted white nobleman’s glove from his right hand.

Then, with a swift movement, Sanders raised his head, his right hand transforming into a large curved hook, reminiscent of a scythe.

With a gust of wind, the blade of the scythe began to tremble furiously, vibrating at speeds invisible to the naked eye, creating an illusion of a crescent moon.

Sanders’ normally stoic and reserved expression warped into a wicked, debauched grin. In a blink, he vanished from the Bone Demon’s sight.

By the time the Bone Demon registered what had happened, Sanders had managed to dart behind it. Using a befuddled lesser demon as a stepping stone, Sanders’ black boot crushed heavily onto the disoriented creature’s head. This gave him the boost needed to accelerate towards the Bone Demon with increased velocity.

“Does he not fear the counteractive spikes of the exoskeleton?” The Bone Demon was still pondering this when it saw Sanders’ rapidly vibrating scythe. With a slight flick, its exoskeleton was blown apart by an exceptionally horrifying force.

“How could this be?” The Bone Demon gazed at the transformed scythe-like right hand in disbelief, a flicker of doubt in its eyes.

But its bewilderment didn’t last long; Sanders had already bolted to its side.

The Bone Demon hastily tried to retract its external skeleton as a defensive measure, but it had previously extended it too far. Trying to pull it back to mount a defense now proved too slow.

With a flash, Sanders’ enormous scythe cut through its neck.

The external skeleton fell.

Sanders now appeared several meters away. His back to the Bone Demon behind him, the scythe in his right hand vanished, reverting back to a hand. At a leisurely pace, Sanders reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a white glove, putting it back on.

The moment he donned it, the Bone Demon not far behind him mumbled a sentence in Demonic Language:

“This is… the Scythe Arm of the Phantom Mantis…”

The next second, its skull was separated from its neck, blood splattered, and the broken limbs fell from the sky.

After dealing with the Bone Demon, Sanders intended to check if there were other wizards who needed assistance, but upon turning around, he found that the demons near the floating iceberg had almost been wiped out.

Samantha’s Glass World was indeed a formidable spell, and all demons, even some of the intermediate ones, couldn’t escape their execution.

Without needing help, Sanders was happy to take it easy. As long as he guarded his own direction, it was also good to let Samantha handle the rest.

As Sanders took advantage of this fleeting moment, he extracted his essence blood, wondering if he could now establish a connection with Angel.

Once he held the essence blood, even before he had the opportunity to utter a word, a pulse resonated from within the crimson droplet.

“Mentor, I see a floating iceberg in the sky. Is this Frost Moon’s aerial transport? Are you onboard?” Angel’s voice echoed in Sanders’s ears.

Sanders confirmed, but much like before, Angel seemed oblivious to his responses, engrossed in his own mutterings.

However, the underlying context of Angel’s words suggested that he wasn’t amidst the clouds, but grounded. His sight of the iceberg hinted he was not located north of La Sutherland, because a towering mountain and the Void Obelisk lay between, obscuring any chance of sighting the iceberg.

That led Sanders to a conclusion——

Gazing at the desolate landscape below, Sanders uttered, “It seems he must be somewhere beneath here.”

Knowing Angel wasn’t far, Sanders pondered if he should transmit his information now. He could employ numerous methods to relay his position, such as deploying the Nightmare Domain or a wide-scale illusion spell. These would be sufficient for Angel on the ground to discern his location.

But what would discovery avail?

With Angel’s current prowess, if he attempted to ascend from the ground to the airborne iceberg, the demons roaming in between would swiftly claim his life.

Additionally, Sanders harbored another concern — the formidable entity accompanying Angel. According to Canter’s feedback after his previous investigation, it was undeniably not human.

What is the stance of that formidable entity, what is her intricate relationship with Angel, if they can’t discern this point, the formidable entity may bring a catastrophe upon those upon the floating iceberg.

Sanders considered for a moment, deciding to seek out Angel in the city below when the real chaos ensues.

As for now, the threat in the sky is too immense. Judging by the pace of Angel’s response earlier, his current circumstances might be significantly safer.

Once Sanders made up his mind, he prepared to retreat back to the iceberg, waiting for the next directive.

However, just as Sanders was about to turn around, a faint mist slowly drifted over from not far away. With the unexpected arrival of the mist, a shadowy figure slowly emerged.

As the shadowy figure appeared, the mist slowly dispersed until it eventually vanished into nothingness.
