Indeed, as Sanders had surmised, Angel was in a place of utter security.

Although surrounded by a churning inferno, the place where the Phantasmagoria was situated was enveloped within the Domain of Wind, rendering any attempt by the flames to breach the yard fruitless.

Even Fafnir had the audacity to occasionally pluck a roasted demon or two from the surrounding fiery sea for sustenance, reveling in such luxury.

Consequently, Angel, within the confines of this yard, faced no imminent danger.

However, his mind was preoccupied with the hovering iceberg in the sky. With the peculiar changes in the blood essence in his hand, he harbored a faint premonition that perhaps Sanders was on the drifting iceberg above. This notion stirred up emotions within him, his heart oscillating like a pendulum.

“I’m not preventing you from leaving, but do you truly believe you can soar safely into the sky?” Fafnir retorted, a note of cold derision in her hoarse voice, picking her teeth nonchalantly.

Though her primary focus was on the unfolding drama, she had caught Angel’s actions from the corner of her eye.

Angel’s expression darkened at her words.

Indeed, he was cognizant of his limitations. Under normal circumstances, the demons wouldn’t bother him and let him run his shop due to Fafnir’s presence. However, if he were to take flight now without Fafnir’s protection, he would undoubtedly be torn to shreds.

Furthermore, he couldn’t ascertain the accuracy of his conjecture. Perhaps Sanders wasn’t on the iceberg. Venturing up there might be an invitation to needless trouble.

In addition to these reasons, there was yet another factor that held back his restless spirit.

Angel pivoted, casting his gaze upon the sphere of ice suspended over his shoulder. Presently, Bina Jonis’ dragon scale was still charging the Frost Seal spell, thus, it could not yet be stored in the bracelet. If they were to abandon this location and an unforeseen situation befall Toby, it would spell disaster.

Thus, various reasons compelled Angel to stay his course.

As long as he knew Sanders hadn’t met his end within the interplanar passage, a reunion was bound to happen.

As these thoughts occupied Angel’s mind, abruptly, a thunderous roar echoed from outside. Moreover, the source of this cacophony was alarmingly close. The moment the noise exploded, Angel’s heart skipped a beat, and every hair on his body stood erect in alert.

Having finally managed to calm his racing heart, Angel turned towards the source of the sound.

In a location barely two hundred meters from the Phantasmagoria Cabin, a gaping pit of darkness had emerged, flanked by two figures.

Originally, this area had been a main avenue leading directly to the core area. However, since the incident of the meteor shower, coupled with the falling of demonic corpses, this place had turned into a sea of flames. This infernal tide devoured everything in its vicinity, including the forest surrounding the Phantasmagoria Cabin.

Angel sought to discern the situation outside through the flames, yet the flickering fire danced relentlessly, obscuring his vision.

The only elements he could discern were the two figures poised against each other outside. Judging from their figures, they seemed to be two women, both elegantly slender.

Moreover, Angel found both these silhouettes eerily familiar.

Itching with curiosity, Angel yearned to decipher the scene unfolding outside. Yet, hindered by the Domain of Wind and his unwillingness to expose his mental space, he found himself enduring a state of uncomfortable suspense. In such predicament, his gaze landed on the lethargically poised Fafnir.

With a sheepish expression, Angel approached, “Honorable Lady Fafnir, this humble human has a request…”

A while later, a faint breeze encased Angel, a token granted by Fafnir herself. With this protective layer, he could extend his mental tendrils beyond the Domain of Wind without triggering its defense mechanisms.

Laid out before Fafnir was an array of delicacies brought from the Wizarding World by Angel, which included tantalizing demonic meat, exotic beauty shells, a special BBQ seasoning packet designed by gourmet wizards, sap from the Milk Fruit Tree, and a few bottles of exquisite wine he had reluctantly accepted from Leon.

Angel knew that Fafnir was purely treating the sky’s battlefield as a theatrical stage, and a delightful spread was always part of the viewing experience. Through this trade of trinkets, Angel managed to acquire the ‘admission ticket’ to the ‘show’.

Previously, all he could do was to lift his head and try to make out the happenings in the sky. However, the dual obstruction of Fire and Wind Domains made his observation rather ambiguous. Now, his mental tendrils could penetrate the Domain of Wind, providing a far clearer perception than before.

Without further ado, Angel extended his mental tendrils.

This time, a delicate breeze swirled around the edge of his mental tendrils. The Domain of Wind no longer posed resistance, allowing him a smooth transition outward.

Angel initially wanted to identify the figure that had felt strangely familiar. Yet, as his mental tendrils extended, the first thing that came into his view were towering figures emerging from the distant Void Obelisk——

A lady of the night with tentacles of terror beneath her gown, a massive lizard engulfed in blazing fire, a female demon bearing three faces, and a shadowy figure shrouded in a smoky veil…

Among those present was one Angel had encountered before — Iadase, sheathed in ebony bone armor!

Upon spotting Iadase and observing the location they emerged from — the Void Obelisk, Angel easily deduced the identities of the remaining figures. They were likely the mighty demons positioned atop La Sutherland’s pyramid!

Who would have imagined that these Great Demons would spring into action so swiftly?!

Angel cast a gaze over the demons. He had initially thought that they were dispatched to halt the Frost Moon’s icy advance, but to his surprise, these demons, upon emerging from the Void Obelisk, dispersed. Except for the smoky figure that headed for the sky iceberg, the destinations of the other demons were shrouded in mystery.

Angel furrowed his brow. Although he was not currently on the floating iceberg, if he were to empathetically place himself in the shoes of the human faction, the situation would be pressurizing if these Great Demons stormed them en masse. Yet, at least the scenario would be clear-cut. However, their splitting and heading to unknown locations created an equally, if not more significant, time constraint.

After all, La Sutherland was inherently a stronghold of the demons. No one knew what these Great Demons were up to, what their actions could mean for the human faction — it was all uncertain.

For the human camp, engaging in combat in the Abyss was challenging enough. Furthermore, they were currently in the demon’s territory, finding themselves at a considerable disadvantage. Perhaps their best bet was to strive for a quick resolution to avoid substantial losses. But seeking such swift closure could mire them in another quagmire. How could they hunt down Olucia, plan their escape, and confront the unpredictability of Lord Night? These were all pressing concerns for the humans to consider.

Regardless of the outcomes, this confrontation would undoubtedly result in severe casualties on the human side.

Angel’s heart sank a bit, recognizing that a wizard, in pursuit of self-maximization, sometimes had to make a move even when aware of its self-destructive nature. Just like the earlier sacrifices made by the Sky Mechanical City to facilitate the ascension of the Purification Garden, where only the crème de la crème survived to reap benefits.

He found himself unable to pass judgment on the righteousness of these actions, left only with a sense of helplessness and melancholy in the face of such inevitable brutality.

Shaking off these thoughts, Angel redirected his gaze.

The shadow in the smoke might be heading for a grand showdown with Frost Moon in the sky. However, with the floating iceberg far off in the distance, even with his best effort, Angel could barely make out any details. His attention might be better spent on the battle at hand, like those two opposing figures from before.

Swiveling his gaze, Angel fixed his sight on the nearby battlefield.

On discerning the two figures, his expression took an abrupt shift towards peculiarity.

His intuition hadn’t failed him; he recognized both figures.

“Of course, the first to pick a fight with the humans would be Minotaur. I’ve fantasized countless times about spending a passionate night with him, a shame, though, for he is a simpleton interested only in battle,” came the coquettish laughter and seductive words of a succubus. Oddly, while her voice stemmed from the mouth below her nose, the laughter originated from the mouth on her forehead.

Such a distinctive form was unmistakable to Angel; it was none other than Hai, the Panaces Succubus who had recently visited the Phantasmagoria.

Her opponent was also a woman who, unfazed by Hai’s enchanting words, kept her focus on the immediate confrontation. Although she had noticed the drifting shadow in the sky, she prioritized the impending battle over the remote conflict.

“Save your prattle, and don’t attempt to ensnare me with your crude allurements. I haven’t the slightest interest in you,” she retorted, her frosted hair dancing in the wind, eyes alight with a luminosity as mesmerizing as molten glass.

This was a woman of formidable presence, like an unyielding glacier, majestic and immovable. She wielded a fearsome aura that many men would never attain, a chilling energy that was distinctively hers.

“Wild Witch, Sineva,” Angel murmured her name with a soft reverence.

Angel hadn’t anticipated that the first familiar face he’d encounter after parting from his mentor would be Sineva’s.

From the intensity of the aura that Sineva was exuding, Angel inferred that the curse she had been inflicted with in Ice Valley must have been lifted.

Angel still vividly remembered what Fafnir had once told him. Hai was one step away from reaching the domain of a Great Demon, and according to this estimation, Hai should be at second level true knowledge.

Now that Sineva had returned to the peak of her powers, she was likely even stronger than Hai. Given the antithetical nature of Sineva’s magic, if a conflict were to occur between the two, Sineva would have a higher chance of victory.

However, an actual confrontation between the two was yet to materialize.

On the surface, all appeared calm, but an invisible battle of energies was already underway between them. When Angel extended his mental tendrils, he could perceive the spectral forms above their heads, entwining and clashing.

This high-level contention was beyond Angel’s complete comprehension. His attention wasn’t fully focused on their energy struggle but was preoccupied with another conundrum.

Why had Sineva appeared here, of all places?

Could it be that Sineva appeared here for a reason?

As to the whereabouts of Hai, Angel harbors no intention of speculation. However, Sineva’s appearance here indicates a definite purpose. As the second in command in the public face of Frost Moon, every move of Sineva surely has its motive.

And what location in this region might Sineva deem significant enough to warrant her attention?

Could it be the Phantasmagoria Cabin? Earlier, Fafnir mentioned that humans have attempted to pry into it, so it’s normal for the Phantasmagoria Cabin to be revealed amongst the human ranks. However, now that the Phantasmagoria Cabin is shrouded by a sea of flames and shielded by the Domain of Wind, it evidently doesn’t warrant human exploration.

If it isn’t the Phantasmagoria Cabin, then in the southern outskirts of La Sutherland, the only place Angel can think of that would be worth Frost Moon’s interest is one.

The Hunting Museum.
