Chapter 1177 Sealing of the True Name

Chapter 1176 The Nameless Scroll <TOC> Chapter 1178 Appearing Source Fire

The entire process was astoundingly tranquil, apart from an almost imperceptible emergence of a Mysterious Aura, it felt as if nothing had transpired at all.

“Was it successful already?”

“It doesn’t seem like there’s been any change?”

Amidst everyone’s confusion, Nereus voluntarily darted towards Olucia’s side. With no resistance, Nereus was drawn into the True Spirit Domain by Olucia.

Nereus didn’t prance about wildly like the others who were under the influence of the True Spirit, instead, he stood serenely beside Olucia, eyes shut.

After a few minutes, Nereus opened his eyes.

“I’ve broken one of the paths leading to the True Spirit’s Domain,” Nereus turned and spoke slowly.

Upon hearing this, a glimmer sparked in everyone’s eyes.

If one isn’t entrapped by the bewitching power of the True Name and has disrupted access to the True Spirit’s Domain, does this signify… the True Name has been suppressed?

Nereus nodded, “Olucia’s Sealing of the True Name has happened using the Nameless Scroll, she won’t be influenced by the power of the True Name for a short while.”

“How long is a short while?” Sanders suddenly questioned.

Nereus glanced at Sanders, their gazes met in midair, sparking a brief clash of unseen lightning. Ultimately, Nereus turned his head away first, whispering, “At least before we close off all paths to the True Spirit’s Domain, Olucia’s True Name won’t rejuvenate.”

In the unfathomable Abyss, the unreachable void.

A pair of massive eyes gradually opened.

The moment these eyes opened, it felt as if everything in the world had commenced to ignite.

“Eh, why can’t I sense her True Name anymore?” A wave of cognition rippled, echoing in the void, “The True Name has vanished into thin air, but why?”

Puzzled, the giant eyes slowly closed again.

How many paths are there to the True Spirit’s Domain? According to Mengke, the number is neither too few to be negligible, nor too many to be despairing.

Moreover, without the influence of the True Name, even an ordinary wizard could obliterate the path to the True Spirit’s Domain.

One path, two paths… In a short span, hundreds, even thousands of paths were decimated.

The most prominent figure in this monumental achievement wasn’t a human, but rather, Komodo.

Not so long ago, Komodo and Mengke exchanged a glance. Without any spoken words, the aftermath led Komodo to join other wizards in an insane onslaught against the True Spirit Domain.

“Mengke calmly declared, “It struck a deal with me. It desires the Source Fire, while I covet the bloodline of Olucia.”

“Did you agree, Lord Mengke?” A fire wizard asked, disappointment etched on his face.

“I did,” Mengke replied, exchanging a distant glance with Komodo.

With a cold snort, Komodo threw another punch at Olucia. However, before the force of the punch reached her, it found itself pulled into the True Spirit Domain. Unbeknownst to him, Mengke uttered a sentence when he entered the True Spirit Domain, “But I only agreed to give it the Source Fire. Whether it can take it away is another matter.”

Upon hearing this, a knowing expression spread across the wizards’ faces, and no further words were exchanged on the matter.

In another scene, Fafnir relayed the humans’ words to Angel, “Bina Jonis once said she met a gentle human. Gentle? How can a human be gentle? See, humans are indeed all lowly creatures, just like demons, greedy and deceitful, exploiting loopholes even in promises witnessed by the World Will.”

Upon hearing this, Angel remained silent. Truth be told, humans treated demons no differently than their own kind.

Otherwise, why has the renowned ‘Merck Soul Source Oath’ been revised hundreds of times since its drafting? Like the early versions of Earth’s entertainment games, full of imperfections, players find and exploit loopholes, forcing the game developers to continuously release updates, striving to fill the gaps.

Driven by their interests, there’s no difference between humans and demons. In contrast, some monsters, with their straightforward thinking, are easier to understand. Like Toby, or the giant serpent Akeso encountered in Hippocrates.

Angel silently observed Olucia in the distance.

The surroundings of Olucia were bustling, everyone was busy destroying the path to the True Spirit Domain, back and forth countless times.

“Can this really destroy the passage to the True Spirit Domain?” Angel questioned.

Fafnir responded, “Looking at the current situation, Olucia’s True Name has been sealed. Hence, destroying the passage to the True Spirit Domain should be feasible and could be accomplished swiftly.”

Angel didn’t probe further, but a touch of concern was evident in his eyes.

If everything goes as smoothly as Fafnir describes, that would be great. However, Angel couldn’t shake an unsettling premonition because many questions remained unanswered.

For example, where was Popoca at this moment?

Based on the information he had gathered, Popoca was likely a Laudsourcian, and his target was the Source Fire. Yet until now, Popoca had not appeared.

Perhaps he was biding his time in the shadows.

Popoca was an unknown factor, and there was another… Angel’s gaze slowly moved towards the ‘dark cloud’ in the distance. The densely packed demons were all bowed in submission towards the direction of Lord Night.

And Lord Night, he was still enduring the last of receiving his power with eyes closed.

These demons, in truth, serve as variables, especially Nythotep and Iadase amongst them. The reason they assisted Olucia previously remains unexplained, and now they stand by like spectators, but why?

Further afield, as the sky begins to gather fire, the void beyond the ‘birdcage’ is revealed. Those figures lurking beyond the void, peering into the birdcage, are full of malice. Could they, too, become the final variables?

Angel pondered much before finally sighing, shaking his head in self-deprecation: “This matter is unrelated to me; I have no stake nor any benefits involved… Even Lord Mengke isn’t worried; why should I overthink?”

With this thought, Angel dismissed the matter, focusing inward amidst the chaos. He closed his eyes and began to meditate, hoping to replenish the magical energy he had expended.

Time slipped silently by.

Angel was roused by a gasp of surprise. Opening his eyes, he saw a hazy sense of spatial distortion around the top of the Void Obelisk.

On closer inspection, he saw the phantasmal figure of Olucia dissolving into particles of light and slowly fading away.

The source of the outcry was Greaves, who had been overlooked on the other side. His eyes were filled with panic and confusion, glancing from Olucia to the distant Servant of Fire, Tantin.

Tantin had also noticed the situation here. His state was one of urgency, but he was tangled up with Sineva, unable to divert his attention.

Has Olucia’s True Spirit broken? Watching the gradually disappearing phantasm, Angel finally confirmed his inner suspicion.

As the phantasm faded, both Mengke and Komodo charged towards Olucia!

It was now crystal clear; without the protection of her True Spirit and True Name, Olucia was unguarded, presenting the perfect harvesting opportunity.

However, as they were about to reach the top of the tower, two figures suddenly stood in their way.

Nythotep and Iadase!

“Drip, drop…” Nythotep was twirling an umbrella, her transparent tentacles undulating beneath her dress, and her eyes glowed faintly.

Iadase stood in front of Nythotep, his bone armor fully released.

“Nythotep, Iadase! Are you trying to stop me?” Komodo bellowed and charged, but its strength had significantly diminished. Iadase was able to hold it at bay easily.

Mengke’s eyes were filled with a sinister glare as he stared at the two Great Demons.

“You can’t stop me.” As Mengke spoke, Samantha, Essex, Nereus, and other true knowledge wizards ascended into the air, encircling them.

“Whether we can stop you or not is one thing, but whether we will or not is another. After all, I’m not a fool like Komodo…” Nythotep gently threw her umbrella, and rainclouds began to gather in the sky. Seeing this, everyone’s eyes narrowed, ready to intervene. But with Iadase guarding Nythotep, no one could break through his defense in time.

This time, Nythotep’s scope of the rainclouds was extremely limited, enveloping only the vicinity of the summit of the Void Obelisk, even intentionally avoiding the place where Lord Night resided.

As the rainclouds dispersed, Nythotep chuckled, “I must do what needs to be done. Otherwise, when Lord Giallar arrives and holds me accountable, it wouldn’t bode well.”

Lord Giallar?!

Everyone caught a crucial word from Nythotep, the term ‘Lord’… only a demon that has ascended to the throne could be referred to as such!

Did Nythotep mean that a Demon Lord was about to arrive?

Everyone was taken aback.

They had just breathed a sigh of relief because Lord Night seemed to have no intention of taking action, but now they were suddenly informed that while Lord Night may not take action, another Demon Lord was on his way?!

Lord Night is a newly ascended Lord, so they might stand a chance to escape if a battle ensues. But the Lord Giallar that Nythotep mentioned was undoubtedly a seasoned Lord, a Lord who not only reached the peak of power but also possessed various demonic powers, and could use a complete Law Domain!

If they were to face such a Demon Lord, they wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in the hot Abyss of escaping!

“Is Giallar coming?” Komodo was taken aback at this moment. As a demon, it understood the might of Lord Giallar far better than any human.

Earlier, Giallar had merely sent a message, prompting all seven seat Great Demons of the Void Obelisk into action to escort Olucia, even resorting to the method of void fluctuation.

But now, Giallar was actually coming in person?!

“Komodo, you better think carefully about what you’re doing,” Nythotep’s voice echoed once again in Komodo’s ears.

A chill ran down Komodo’s spine, contemplating whether to cease its actions… but at that moment, a buzzing noise filled its mind, as if countless people were whispering into its ear. The once somewhat clear thought process plunged back into chaos.

Externally, the phantoms of Eudecernos and Minotaur behind Komodo became clearer.

Clearly, the aftermath of Komodo consuming two blood cocoons was flaring up again.

“Mine, mine, no one can stop me! The Source Fire must be mine!” Komodo abruptly raised its head, its eyes completely bloodshot, a sea of crimson.

Seeing this, Nythotep sighed softly.

Upon descending into madness, Komodo immediately charged towards Iadase, disregarding everything else.

With Komodo’s action, humans also initiated their attack on Nythotep.

In an instant, the war was reignited.

However, unbeknownst to everyone, at the pinnacle of the Void Obelisk, separated only by a mere wall, a terrifying entity that seemed like an otherworldly being was greedily gazing overhead. As if it could see everything outside through that wall.

Behind it, a multitude of blood-red lines flashed with eerie lights and shadows.
