In a desolate, forsaken expanse enshrouded in darkness, a magnificent library stands in solitary majesty.

Within the library, a diminutive demon abruptly lifts its gaze to the boundless void.

“A single glance pierces the chaos of space-time, a terrifying torrent of thoughts arrives in an instant,” a low voice quivers with unmistakable fear, “Indeed, I was right not to leave a mark on him.”

This small demon is none other than the Cruel Scholar.

When his relic statue was doused in Angel’s fresh blood, the Cruel Scholar had been instantly aware. Initially, he had thought Angel intended to use the relic, so he had preemptively attached his consciousness to it.

Later, he had surreptitiously lured Popoca to persuade Angel to utilize the relic.

Yet, in the end, Angel had no intention of using the relic, let alone activating it.

Just when the Cruel Scholar was steeped in regret, Angel confronted the Flameless Lord’s Avatar.

Subsequently, the Cruel Scholar sensed the terrifying gaze. Despite being situated in a remote spatio-temporal distance, the massive influx of consciousness arrived in an instant!

His consciousness attached to the relic was unnoticed even by the Flameless Lord, yet those piercing eyes looked directly at it.

The Cruel Scholar’s consciousness was forcibly driven out of the relic.

This sensation was akin to being evicted from your own home by a stranger. And he dared not protest, to the extent that now… his attempts to gaze upon that world were obstructed by a barely discernible barrier.

“Such a level of energy is indeed a ‘miracle’-like existence,” the Cruel Scholar murmured. Fear marked his face as he considered how fortunate he was not to exert pressure on that human.

The Cruel Scholar watched the nebulous world obscured behind the void, anticipating the moment when its veil would be lifted.

He wanted to know, what fate ultimately awaited the Flameless Lord’s Avatar?

This would determine how the Cruel Scholar reassessed Angel’s worth in the future.

As the Cruel Scholar watched the world veiled by the barrier, his tail moved quickly, sifting through piles of books for information about that world.

That was a world so strange that even when the Cruel Scholar attached his consciousness to it, he had some difficulty determining its position.

He felt an unsettling oddness about it.

The Flameless Lord felt as though she’d been dragged into a chaotic, dark, and boundless space.

All around her was a chaotic void.

The only sensation she could feel stemmed from the depths of the spatio-temporal expanse, a pair of eyes emanating a chilling cruelty beyond fathom.

Those eyes were fixed intently on the Flameless Lord, calm, with not a hint of ripple. Yet the icy disdain reflected in their depths made her break into a cold sweat.

Merely being under such gaze, the Flameless Lord felt her spirit intensely oppressed.

“What’s going on? Is it the doing of that human?” While the Flameless Lord had already taken Angel seriously, she absolutely refused to believe that a human, who hadn’t even reached the status of a formal wizard, could exert such an overwhelming pressure on her.

Could it be a Mysterious Object?

The only explanation the Flameless Lord could think of was that this human was applying pressure on her using some Mysterious Object.

If that were the case, the only solution would be to kill that human first!

Upon this thought, the Flameless Lord, bearing the terrifying pressure from those eyes, flicked the Flameless Fire at her fingertips.

Although she felt as if she were in the chaos of the void, she surmised this to be some peculiar illusion. Thus, she sent the Flameless Fire that was wrapped around her fingertip without a moment’s hesitation.

As soon as she did so, for some reason, the Flameless Lord heard a mocking laughter next to its ear.

Before she could discern the source, she saw one of the eyes in the depth of the darkness transform into a dazzling star, illuminating countless worlds.

In the intense light, a figure emerged from the star, traversed through the endless spatio-temporal distance, and reached the Flameless Lord in an instant.

The Flameless Lord couldn’t make out the details of this figure, only feeling a strand of long golden hair brushing past her, then a blinding white light exploded in front of it.

After the white light, the chaotic dark void receded slowly, like a curtain on a stage.

The Flameless Lord was momentarily stunned, then her tensed nerves slightly relaxed. In her mind, the Flameless Fire she had shot earlier had an effect.

However, when she looked up at the figure, her gaze suddenly froze.

The Flameless Fire had not started corroding the human, as she had imagined, but was instead suspended in front of the human.

Or more accurately, it was blocked. The Flameless Lord saw a great deal of peculiar green runes emerge from behind the human, acting like a web of vines against her Flameless Fire.

“Are these green runes the power of a Mysterious Object?” The Flameless Lord speculated. “However, I didn’t sense the Aura of a Mysterious Object. Could it be that this human is actually the bearer of a Mysterious Object?”

The Flameless Lord once encountered a Mud Demon killed by an unknown mist in the Gluttony Plane. A section of the demon’s spine turned out to be a Mysterious Object.

The birth of a Mysterious Object sometimes does not follow natural laws. Even a living organism itself could potentially become a cradle for the Mysterious Object.

As the Flameless Lord contemplated, the green rune resisting the Flameless Fire abruptly shattered.

Greaves had initially surmised that the shop owner would wield the relic; otherwise, why would he dare emit a battle intent towards the Flameless Lord? Yet, unexpectedly, the shop owner had no intention of employing the relic. Instead, he sprouted an unusual green rune from his back that blocked the flame unleashed by the Flameless Lord.

From Greaves’ perspective, the Flameless Fire was merely a casual attack from the Flameless Lord. However, he was oblivious to the fact that the consciousness of the Flameless Lord had previously been dragged into a void world by an otherworldly gaze. The Flameless Fire was a reluctant move.

As the green rune shattered, a sense of dread seeped into Greaves’ heart: It’s over!

Yet on the other side, the Flameless Lord knitted her brows. For in that instant when the green rune broke, she abruptly lost contact with the Flameless Fire?

“Shop owner, watch out!” Greaves cried out.

Just as his voice fell, Greaves felt a fleeting disorientation… did he catch a glimpse of an Overlapping Shadow and Light descending from the shattered green rune?

Greaves shook his head, looking again, he saw no such shadowy light. However, the shop owner himself remained utterly still at this moment.

“Could it be that the fire has infiltrated the shop owner’s body?”

While Greaves was plagued by worry, the Flameless Lord across from him suddenly initiated an attack!

Greaves thought the shadowy light was an illusion, yet he didn’t realize that the Flameless Lord had clearly witnessed the descent of that light into the human.

The Flameless Lord was not certain what that shadowy light was, but she did notice a strand of golden hair.

With the descent of the shadowy light, the Flameless Fire abruptly extinguished.

Angel stood rooted to the spot, silent with his head bowed. He seemed perfectly normal. Yet, the Flameless Lord’s heartbeat suddenly quickened — probably the first such occurrence in millennia.

The Flameless Lord had not experienced palpitations in a long time, but now, it suddenly emerged.

And what’s more, it was when facing a human who was as insignificant as an ant!

This made her rather irritable and, guided by a certain emotion, the Flameless Lord launched the first strike. At that moment, she was yet to realize that the emotion guiding her actions, a feeling long forgotten, was unease.

Or perhaps, it was an organism’s instinctive fear of its natural enemy.

Seeing the Flameless Lord launch an attack on the shop owner, Greaves was startled, and a sour sensation rose from his heart to his nostrils. In his mind, the shop owner was undoubtedly doomed.

However, Greaves did not ponder why the Flameless Lord, who was as different from the human as heaven and earth, would initiate an attack?

The Flameless Lord’s attack unfolded in a three-pronged formation: intimidation, energy, and physicality.

Firstly, the terror-striking pressure of intimidation was designed to unnerve. Then, she harnessed the Flameless Fire to scorch, finally casting a decisive blow with her robust physical power.

What the Flameless Lord failed to acknowledge was that her serious opening assault was targeted at a human, who under normal circumstances wouldn’t even be worthy of her gaze.

More strikingly, this human target was in a state of complete unguarded stillness, entirely open to her attack.

However, the onslaught that the Flameless Lord presumed to be a near certainty, had gone somewhat awry.

Her intimidation, intended to cause discomfort, seemed to have no effect on the human. The Flameless Lord began to question whether she was at fault. But, spotting the Young Fire Demon behind the human, she was certain her pressure was exerting itself appropriately.

The proof lay in the Young Fire Demon’s reddening face, slick with sweat, its blood vessels and veins pulsating in fear.

Yet, why was the human unaffected?

As the intimidation proved ineffective, the second wave of attack — the Flameless Fire — drew near to the human. But when the flames touched the human, the Flameless Lord’s gaze abruptly shifted.

She could no longer sense the presence of the Flameless Fire!

A single occurrence might be a fluke, but encountering the same situation twice suggested that the human had definitely mastered a spell to counteract the Flameless Fire!

This realization set off alarm bells in the Flameless Lord’s mind.

Yet, having already engaged, there was no reason for her to retreat.

Nonetheless, the Flameless Lord proceeded with heightened caution.

When she, using her formidable physical form, rushed to Angel’s side, the hitherto silent Angel finally lifted his head.

The moment Angel raised his head, the Flameless Lord experienced an unprecedented tremor of fear.

The human before her… no, the Flameless Lord could no longer detect a human aura.

The face seemed different, shrouded in shadow, veiling any discernible features. The only familiar element was the lustrous blonde hair.

However, his hair was originally short in length.

Yet, behind this short golden layer, a spectral image of long hair faintly emerged.

Suppressing the sudden surge of dread, the Flameless Lord extended her hand like a blade, aiming to cleave the skull before her in two.

But then, a ray of light suddenly burst forth from the shadow-shrouded face.

A bright, blinding gaze filled with a chilly iciness!
