Chapter 1207 Radiance

Chapter 1206 Release of the Green Rune <TOC> Chapter 1208 Witch Tong

He didn’t understand why, but he didn’t seek too much explanation either.

Because right now, he had no better options.

To divert the attention of those mighty beings that had set their sights on this location, and prevent them from discovering the truth, Angel didn’t hesitate anymore. Raising his head, his eyes sparked with a green rune, twisting around his right hand.

The green rune in his palm flickered, pushing towards the tree trunk.

When Angel attempted to touch the radiant green tree, the gusts of wind abruptly intensified.

The collective consciousness of the continent had already claimed the tree’s True Spirit power as its own “elixir of life.” How could it allow Angel to sully it?

The fierce wind, when it struck his skin, brought with it a pain akin to being sliced by a blade.

Not far away, Greaves was even swept away by this sudden hurricane. With great difficulty and at the cost of his wounds splitting open once again, Greaves managed to anchor himself tens of meters away.

Though Greaves was injured, his physical strength was comparable to a formal wizard, or rather, stronger than a non-bloodline side wizard, given his essence was that of a demon.

According to Greaves’s assumption, if he could be blown away, then the shop owner would likely be swept away by this gale too. After all, despite the shop owner’s “core” having changed, his physical frailty was a fact.

However, when Greaves looked back, he was astonished to find that not only was Angel not blown away, he hadn’t even budged an inch. He stood firm like a steadfast boulder, immovable as a mountain.

Naturally, Angel could sense the wind’s obstruction and rejection. He even speculated that he might be shaken by the wind. As he pondered whether or not to reinforce his stance with a trick, he suddenly found that the wind, although forceful, wasn’t as overpowering as he’d imagined.

Or rather, the force was still immense, but a transformation had occurred in the very fabric of Angel’s physicality, which made standing against the wind not so difficult.

Comparing Angel and Greaves, one could see that the extent of Angel’s physical enhancement had surpassed his own expectations.

However, Angel didn’t have the luxury of time to probe into the changes his body had undergone. Instead, he continued to reach for the tree.

The closer he got, the stronger the wind became.

But ultimately, the raging hurricane failed to blow Angel away.

The green rune in his palm made direct contact with the tree bark. In an instant, the entire radiant green tree emitted an astonishing light. This light shot straight into the heavens, piercing the void!

Within this beam of light, fine green runes connected to Angel’s palm began to emerge one after another. They swirled around the tree ceaselessly.

This change here was also transmitted to the distant land of darkness.

Seated upon his throne, a gaunt figure wearing a Totem Mask abruptly rose to his feet!

With a swift gesture, he wielded his osseous scepter and sternly struck the ground, unleashing a terrifying wave that rippled outward!

Along with this wave, there reverberated a prolonged, humming sound from deep within his throat.

If Angel were present, he would discern the message hidden in the syllables echoing from the Totem Mask: “Do not obstruct!”

Moreover, the language he spoke was not the Demonic Language… but Abyssian.

Angel’s palm was still caressing the bark, continuously feeding back the effect of the green runes. This ‘tree formation’, shackling the True Spirit power, was gradually starting to crumble.

Angel’s expression was solemn, for he was aware that the pan-consciousness of the continent didn’t possess actual thought. It was oblivious to the fact that Angel’s actions were beneficial to the land. It only perceived him as attempting to seize its hope.

Therefore, before the ‘tree formation’ collapsed and before the True Spirit began to fully merge with the continent, he would need to confront the hostility of the continental consciousness.

Since the hurricane was unable to sweep him away, perhaps, a new unexpected event would take birth, like an underground magma eruption.

Angel could already see the nearby lava pool starting to surge, and even beneath his feet, signs of a rise in temperature had emerged. Facing the might of nature, Angel was not one to underestimate it.

However, to Angel’s surprise, as he braced himself and cautiously prepared to face the impending storm, suddenly, the wind ceased.

Angel had witnessed sudden winds before but never had he seen a naturally formed hurricane, already blowing in his face, abruptly dissipate.

Not only did the wind stop, but the violent churn of the lava pool and the upward surge of the subterranean magma were also retreating.

Every natural disaster threatening Angel had vanished. Even the dust and flames stirred by the hurricane before, when falling from the sky, seemed to avoid Angel’s position.

Now, he seemed to be in an absolute safe zone.

As if the pan-consciousness of the entire continent was shielding Angel.

Angel was taken aback for a moment, then he chuckled, “It seems you understand now what I am doing…”

Previously, Angel felt dispersing the True Spirit power throughout the continent might be somewhat wasteful. However, it was still better than leaving it for others to seize, plus he had no other choice. Hence, he chose to follow the message left by that individual and entrust the True Spirit power to the entire continent.

But now, sensing the protection of the continental consciousness, Angel felt a slight self-consolation of “at least, it’s not all in vain.”

Although he was well aware that the continental consciousness wouldn’t bring him any benefits, wasn’t this quite normal? Whether it’s the continental consciousness or World Will, they are aggregates of accumulated consciousness, devoid of human emotions.

With the continental consciousness voluntarily dousing the fires, Angel could focus on using the green runes to shatter the ‘tree formation’.

And because there were no external disturbances, he could concentrate more on comprehending this ‘green rune’.

The green runes that lie within the tree, along with the one that Angel has released, are transient. This suggests that they do not belong to Angel, nor are they inherently attached to his right eye. Rather, they are consumables left behind by the Avatar who seemed to resemble Shava.

Once utilised, they will vanish entirely.

Hence, Angel wishes to examine this green rune before its disappearance.

Deeply engrossed in his study, Angel paid no mind to his surroundings. The continent’s collective consciousness demarcated the boundary of this tree, creating a sanctuary, where even the shouts of Greaves could not penetrate.

Since not even sound could pass through, Greaves could not intrude. Thus, he could only helplessly observe from a distance — first glancing at Angel, then looking at the “Luminescent Eye”, engulfed by the Source Fire, not far from Angel. Within the Luminescent Eye were the soul of Olucia and the remnants of her flame.

When Angel sensed that the green rune in his palm was disintegrating, he opened his eyes, filled with a sense of helplessness.

He had studied the previous green rune briefly and found that its superficial meaning and the one on his right hand were the same, symbolising “binding”.

However, as he continued to delve into this “binding” rune, he found the second layer of data to be different.

The green rune on his right hand produced a series of five data points through research: binding, dissolution, integration, passage, and gate.

The effect of the right-hand rune was the foundation Angel used to acquire the power of the Wilderness of Dreams.

However, the transient rune left by that individual had “binding” as its primary meaning, yet the second data point differed. It wasn’t “dissolution”, but a structure Angel had never encountered before.

Due to the lack of time, Angel struggled to discern the specific nature of this structure, but its general effect could be summarised as providing “stability or fortitude”.

Presumably, it was meant to stabilize energy.

Angel felt a pang of regret. Given a bit more time, he might have been able to reverse-engineer this rune. But on second thought, had he chosen not to use the rune and instead spent time studying it, by the time he had figured it out, countless powerful beings would have invaded this continent. At that point, he would have had to worry about his own survival.

As the green rune in Angel’s hand disappeared, the green formations encircling the tree began to dissipate.

Simultaneously, every branch of the green tree became a flowing vent, and the True Spirit power within it began to surge outwards gradually.

The green light points flickered, adorning the branches like stars, radiating a dreamy glow.

The green tree was undergoing its final metamorphosis.

Just like a cicada, hiding within the earth for several years, it emerges on a languid summer day, to sing the song of life!

The metamorphosis of the green tree also symbolised it was spending its own life, blooming at the cost of its existence!

The transformation officially commenced when the True Spirit power began to pour out from its branches.

This vital True Spirit power, twined around the tree trunk like verdant mists, arrayed in clusters, in varying density, sprinkled with twinkling specks of light. Its beauty eludes verbal encapsulation!

Then, a gentle breeze came along. The seemingly saturated mists were whisked away by the wind into the distance.

This transition was slow and tranquil.

Yet, paradoxically, Greaves, who witnessed this spectacle, experienced a Radiance quietly blossoming within the serenity!

The slow wind, the sound it rustled up, was like an elegantly composed hymn.

Narrating and singing, the yearning for renewal amidst the passing years!

The wind carried the mists of True Spirit, drifting towards an unknown horizon.

While the luminescent specks, were jostled from the branches.

As these specks brushed over the earth, the fissures on the ground, resulting from either disasters or battles, were smoothed over at a perceptible pace.

The light landed on Greaves, healing his wounds instantaneously, his complexion shifting from pale to rosy. Greaves felt a level of well-being he had never experienced before.

Moreover, Greaves realized something. The potion that the shop owner had given him seemed to have stirred a dormant force within him. And now, as the light descended, this slumbering force seemed to hint at an imminent awakening.

As Greaves underwent transformations, so did Popoca.

He was almost reduced to a puddle of muck, but as the specks of light seeped into him, his nearly destroyed flesh started exhibiting miraculous reversals.

Even his consciousness, that was rapidly slipping into the Bottomless Abyss, was yanked back from the darkness.

Popoca exerted himself to lift his head, yearning to understand the cause of this revival.

As he looked distantly towards that radiant tree, at Angel’s upright figure standing beside it, he was stunned.

His eyes filled with deep, complex emotions.
