Mists intertwined with Phantom Island, golden sunlight glistening over a sea of clouds, like a layer of golden sand gracing pristine snow.

Now, White Bear stood atop this golden expanse.

“Is it truly safe to have followed you here? I’ve heard tales of those who trespass Phantom Island meeting harrowing ends,” White Bear asked with apprehension, casting a sidelong glance at Totoro.

Totoro’s countenance remained indifferent. He glanced at White Bear and murmured, “You’re fine.”

Receiving Totoro’s assurance, White Bear sighed in relief. Although he possessed the gift of prophecy, his foresight often faltered when it concerned his own fate. Totoro, however, was different. His words rarely missed their mark.

As for Totoro’s impassive demeanor, White Bear paid it no mind. With the passage of time, he understood that except for Angel, to whom Totoro showed warmth and the occasional smile, Totoro bore the same expressionless facade to everyone else — even when confronted with his esteemed Mentor Maya.

Reassured he wouldn’t be dismissed, White Bear’s gaze followed Totoro’s, delving into the deep expanse of the cloud sea.

Cloud sea, dawn light, and Phantom Island.

Three breathtaking vistas merged into one magnificent panorama. Even for White Bear, who resided on an island dubbed “Miraculous View” by the wizards of Savage Grottoes, this sight before him was astonishing, invoking deep awe.

The sea of clouds morphed, ethereal and dreamlike.

For a moment, White Bear was almost entranced.

Suddenly, from the golden-lit clouds, a figure emerged. A petite stature, enshrouded entirely in a black robe, with a mask decorated in peculiar patterns concealing its face.

White Bear immediately recognized the attire — it was the signature of Phantom Island’s Shadow Servants. Yet, it was his first encounter with such a diminutive one.

The diminutive Shadow Servant approached White Bear and Totoro, cleared its throat twice in an unfamiliar tone, and inquired, “Are you Sir Totoro?”

Totoro nodded in affirmation.

“Master Pat permits your entry; please follow me,” the diminutive Shadow Servant said, mimicking an adult’s demeanor, nodding at Totoro.

“What about me?” White Bear asked with a hint of anxiety, watching Totoro leave with the Shadow Servant.

“Who might you be?” The Shadow Servant asked in puzzlement, eyeing this curious individual dressed as a polar bear toy.

“I… I am Hobson Silian, a friend of Angel. I have an urgent matter to discuss with him,” White Bear explained.

Months prior, Angel had returned to the Savage Grottoes. White Bear had tried to find him then, but before they could meet, Angel had ventured into the Abyss. Now, having finally learned of Angel’s whereabouts, he immediately followed Totoro to this place.

However, White Bear spoke with a lack of confidence, uncertain if the Shadow Servant would allow him entry.

“Hobson Silian? Master Pat has never mentioned you. According to the rules of Phantom Island, without permission, you cannot enter…” the Shadow Servant began, only to be interrupted as its ears twitched, as if hearing something. “Understood,” it nodded.

Lifting its gaze to White Bear, the servant continued, “Very well, you may accompany us. Master Pat grants you passage.”

Hearing this, White Bear’s anxiety melted away.

Guided by the Shadow Servant, they ventured deeper into Phantom Island. Walking through mists and welcoming dawn’s early light, they journeyed for a better part of the day, finally arriving at the central mansion of Phantom Island.

At the entrance stood two figures.

One was dressed identical to the Shadow Servant, albeit taller. The other was a youth in a white shirt, his golden hair gleaming in the sunlight, an ethereal beauty in the backlight.

White Bear’s eyes lit up upon seeing the youth.

“Angel,” he whispered the name, a sense of longing bubbling up inside him.

Angel stepped forward, softly instructing the Shadow Servant, “Wimbledon, go report to Butler Goode. I’ll handle things here.”

As the Shadow Servant departed, Angel’s gaze turned to Totoro, a smile playing in his eyes. “I missed you during my last visit. I heard you were advancing your skills at the Crown Star Church with Lady Maya. How was it? I trust the experience proved fruitful?”

In Totoro’s eyes, there was a fervor of reuniting after a long separation. He had a plethora of things he wished to convey to Angel and numerous queries, especially concerning the dark, blood-stained visions he’d foreseen.

Yet, Totoro was at a loss for where to begin. In the end, he simply remarked, “Not too shabby.”

“If even you find it satisfactory, it must truly be exceptional,” Angel said with a twinkling smile. Although it had been ages since their last meeting, Totoro’s appearance hadn’t altered much. However, his overall demeanor was distinctly different from before — a transformation clearly beneficial for Totoro.

Angel felt a wave of relief, concluding that entrusting Totoro to Maya’s guidance was indeed the right decision.

“Let’s head inside and continue,” proposed Angel, taking the lead. After a few strides, a thought struck him, and he turned to White Bear, “If I recall correctly, your surname is Silian, isn’t it?”

White Bear, taken aback, initially thought Angel would overlook him. It was unexpected for the latter to suddenly inquire about his Family Surname.

Still a bit stunned, he nodded, “Yes, Silian is the name of my bloodline.”

A glint flashed in Angel’s eyes, “I remembered correctly, then. There’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”

Moments later, Angel led the duo to the main hall.

Throughout their journey, White Bear was lost in a daze. Angel’s sudden question about his surname caught him off guard. Yet, upon reflecting, certain realizations began to dawn on him. The mere thought of what it might imply sent his heart racing, though he feared he might have misconstrued Angel’s intent, leaving him in a state of anxious anticipation.

Upon reaching the grand hall, White Bear gradually snapped back to reality. At that moment, Lord Phantom sat majestically on a sofa, leafing through a notebook.

Apart from Lord Phantom, White Bear’s eyes caught another figure in the hall. It wasn’t a Shadow Servant, but rather a hooded figure donned in a gray robe, their face obscured.

The figure’s most striking feature was his emaciated stature — as if a gust of wind might carry him away.

Initially, White Bear didn’t pay much attention to this individual. However, he noticed that as they entered, the figure’s gaze settled upon them — specifically on Totoro.

Totoro seemed to have noticed that individual, wearing an expression that was somewhat offbeat. His eyes occasionally flashed with puzzlement.

It was only when they had fully entered and settled that Totoro’s gaze remained fixated on that person.

“Who is that?” pondered White Bear, his curiosity piqued by Totoro’s distinct demeanor and the palpable odd atmosphere that hung in the air.

As White Bear attempted to unravel the bond between the two, Angel abruptly said, “White Bear, let’s step outside for a moment. There’s something I wish to discuss with you.”

White Bear had initially assumed that Angel would converse with Totoro first. It was unexpected that he’d be the first to chat. He glanced over at the still-distracted Totoro and nodded to Angel.

As White Bear followed Angel out of the grand hall, he looked back over his shoulder, catching a glimpse of Totoro seemingly conversing with the lean silhouette. However, their words were but a faint murmur, escaping his ears.

Upon reaching the open-air balcony on the second floor with Angel, and once they had settled, Angel turned and remarked, “I reckon you’ve deduced the reason I asked you here, haven’t you?”

As he spoke, Angel delicately retrieved a slightly aged white bear plush toy from his bracelet.
