Chapter 1279 The Crown Reappears

Chapter 1278 Sealing Circle <TOC> Chapter 1280 Descend into the Abyss

The clash between Eureka and Angel was nothing short of monumental. Each contact between them sent shockwaves rippling out, testament to an invisible force at play.

Such a fierce exchange of power was enough to attest to Angel’s current strength!

However, while Angel had achieved the realm of a formal wizard through bloodline, Eureka was already a formal bloodline wizard. As they locked in this ethereal duel, Eureka seemingly held the upper hand.

Beneath the shroud of night, their rapid movements were almost imperceptible. Onlookers could scarcely see their forms, only waves of force continually emanating outward.

Some of these shockwaves even permeated the boundaries of the estate, reaching the crimson light beyond!

Yet, after being filtered through the Sealing Circle, while these shockwaves lost some of their raw impact as they left the crimson radiance, they transformed into gales. Auchanchan was nearly blown away by this fierce wind, narrowly avoiding that fate.

Thankfully, White Bear intervened, erecting a transparent barrier in front of them, preventing Auchanchan from being swept off.

However, the wind, birthed from those shockwaves, followed the path, rushing towards Grud Town behind them.

That night, the townsfolk of Grud Town felt besieged by the howling gales. Even with windows shut tight, the haunting sound of the wind and the cacophony of objects being battered echoed like mournful wails.

Moreover, from the direction of Pat Manor, they heard thunderous rumblings, reminiscent of a storm brewing.

No one dared step outside. Everyone huddled in their homes, praying in their hearts for the tempestuous night to pass.

Meanwhile, within the crimson light,

Angel was visibly fatigued, panting heavily. In stark contrast, Eureka remained unscathed, a portrait of calm and composure. It seemed, as White Bear had predicted earlier, that Angel was on the brink of defeat.

Owing to his waning strength, Angel, caught off-guard by a powerful strike, was sent flying.

A sudden gleam in Eureka’s eyes suggested she’d noticed something. A sinister and eerie smile played on her lips. Her speed increased dramatically, and with her bare toes, she performed a dance in mid-air, a crimson ballet of sorts, charging towards a specific spot.

That spot appeared empty, but Angel, unable to control his trajectory, was plummeting directly towards it.

Vulnerable and defenseless, Angel had provided Eureka with the perfect opportunity.

Amidst the backdrop of an ever-present full moon, Eureka suddenly pressed her hands around her waist, and two whips, sharp as serrated teeth, were swiftly unleashed, morphing into shadows serpents.

A soft hiss echoed——

Blanketed by snow, buffeted by hurricane winds, the luminous moon resembled a grand wheel in the backdrop.

These whip-shadows, filled with thick blood energy, sliced through the void. Under the moonlight, they looked like venomous snakes opening their vast jaws, revealing their fangs!

They lunged fiercely at the seemingly uncontrollable figure of Angel.

Caught between the two whiplashes, Angel’s form was bisected.

His body torn asunder, blood spattered.

Every onlooker, bearing witness to this spectacle, wore an expression of profound shock.

Leon’s gaze slowly turned hollow, and eventually one of sheer despair. Without warning, tears welled up in his eyes as he murmured Angel’s name in a daze.

Elsewhere, Auchanchan, covering her eyes, couldn’t bring herself to believe the scene unfolding before her.

The smoke pipe in Pasha’s hand fell to the snow-covered ground with a thud. Even he collapsed to his knees, looking utterly bewildered. Angel was someone he had seen grow up, and Pasha, with his silver hair, never imagined he would bid farewell to Angel before his own time.

Standing beneath the moon, reminiscent of a grand disc, Eureka laughed uproariously. As the wind tousled her hair, she resembled the mythical Gorgon, spreading terror throughout the world.

“Why… why didn’t you save him? Wasn’t he your disciple?” Auchanchan, teary-eyed, inquired of Sanders.

Sanders shot Auchanchan a cold, indifferent glance, opting for silence.

However, on the other side, White Bear whispered, “Just watch. Angel… he isn’t so easily defeated.”

As if to confirm White Bear’s statement, a shadow suddenly flashed behind the airborne Eureka. Though it was challenging to discern the shadow’s features against the backlight, the radiant golden hair was unmistakably striking!

A booming “thud” echoed forth!

Eureka plummeted from the heavens, crashing straight into the earth.

This abrupt shift momentarily startled the mournful assembly around.

Auchanchan’s tear-filled eyes, still glistening, widened in surprise as she gazed at the billowing cloud of snow and dust. “Young Master Pat… wasn’t he…?” Dead?

White Bear inwardly heaved a sigh of relief, reflecting, “Just as I suspected.”

He had been momentarily taken aback, fearing something untoward had truly befallen Angel. However, he noticed Sanders, standing by his side, remained unruffled throughout. This calm demeanor raised his suspicion.

Though White Bear was unaware of the dynamics between Sanders and Angel, he was certain of one thing: Sanders wouldn’t let Angel meet his demise so easily.

Who was Angel, after all? If White Bear were to categorize based on his understanding, Angel, first and foremost, was an alchemist. Then, he was Sander’s disciple, and lastly, a wizard apprentice from the Savage Grottoes. While these roles all defined him, his identity as an ‘alchemist’ undoubtedly garnered the most renown.

No wizard organization would relinquish an alchemist so casually.

Moreover, in the Savage Grottoes, the sole candidate possibly advancing to the realm of a Mysterious Alchemist was Angel.

Considering all these factors, White Bear believed Sanders wouldn’t stand idly by and watch Angel fall. The only plausible explanation for Sanders’ inaction was that the situation was still within Angel’s control.

Indeed, it seemed the case.

Predictions remain just that, but the actual unfolding of events often catches one off guard.

As White Bear ruminated, Angel once again clashed with Eureka. This time, the onlookers noticed something peculiar. Eureka managed to land several blows on Angel. Some even surmised they were fatal. Yet, in the end, Angel stood before Eureka, unscathed.

“An illusion?” White Bear, though unable to pinpoint the exact nature, quickly discerned the underlying truth.

It was, indeed, an illusionary spell.

At the onset of his close combat with Eureka, Angel appeared somewhat timid. However, as the fight progressed, he realized that despite the considerable gap in their abilities, he wasn’t entirely outmatched.

Thus, he tactically accentuated his strengths and mitigated his weaknesses.

He sensed that although Eureka appeared more brutal, indifferent, and mad than usual, she was clearly experiencing a feedback disorder from external stimuli. In other words, her perception was even more deficient than usual.

Angel began to release illusion nodes during his attack.

Indeed, Eureka seemed oblivious to these illusion nodes. As the nodes multiplied, combining to form a dominant illusion realm, Angel’s disadvantage began to turn!

Throughout the subsequent dozens of attacks, Eureka made several judgment errors due to the illusions.

Angel seized every opportunity. However, the gap between him and Eureka was vast. Even when he exploited her lapses, it wasn’t enough to determine the outcome.

While the battle didn’t result in a definitive winner in the short term, watching Angel pressing and controlling Eureka was indeed a treat for the eyes. Especially for people like Auchanchan, who were unaware of the intricacies and were simply pleased with Angel’s upper hand.

Leon on the observation platform heaved a sigh of relief. In his gaze towards Angel, beyond his happiness for him, there was a deep-rooted admiration.

White Bear watched intently. Firstly, because this battle was a rare duel between a wizard apprentice and formal wizard… Secondly, Eureka’s identity made him particularly curious.

“Still too weak,” Sanders murmured softly.

White Bear’s lips moved, but he said nothing. He wasn’t sure what to say. While Angel’s shortcomings were evident, they were aspects that could be easily improved over time. If Angel was “too weak,” what did that make the mainstream apprentices of the Wizarding World… Perhaps no better than salted fish.

After White Bear’s internal critique, Sanders suddenly said, “Eureka’s too weak.”

White Bear was taken aback. So, Sanders’ previous comment about weakness wasn’t about Angel but Eureka? White Bear frowned. Was Eureka weak? At a glance, she seemed so. But was it relevant?

What White Bear didn’t know was that not long ago, Sanders had learned from Angel that ‘Eureka had gone mad, to the point where even Suis couldn’t restrain her.’

If one observes the current situation juxtaposed against reality, Eureka’s power can be handled by the majority of formal wizards. ‘Redhead’ Suis stands out amongst contemporary wizards, often hailed as the leading figure among non-true knowledge wizards. Moreover, he is relatively young, and there’s always a possibility he could ascend to the realm of those walking the path of true knowledge.

How could Suis possibly be unable to suppress Eureka?

“Or could there be something more wrong with Eureka?” Sanders pondered deep within his thoughts.

At that moment, Eureka was repeatedly attacked, even overpowered by a seemingly weak apprentice. Her demeanor appeared even more unhinged than before.

During another standoff between Angel and Eureka, she suddenly opened her palm. Accompanied by a fierce red shimmer, the faint outline of an object emerged in her hand.

As Angel stood there perplexed, a figure suddenly swooped in from the distance.

“Eureka, stop!” The figure arrived in the blink of an eye, and upon recognizing the newcomer, Angel wasn’t taken aback.

With bright red hair, radiant and eye-catching, it was indeed Suis!

Suis gave Angel a complex look. Every night, he had to maintain the Bloodlight Sealing Circle, and he was repairing it earlier. Still, he had been privy to the confrontation between Angel and Eureka.

He remembered that not long ago, when Angel left, he was merely an “ordinary apprentice.” But now, his strength was beyond imagination. Suis speculated that even if he were to face Angel, the latter would likely hold his ground for a while.

“Angel, step back. You can’t handle Eureka right now, especially since you’ve angered her,” Suis advised Angel without probing the mystery of his newfound strength.

As Angel looked on, puzzled, Suis sighed softly, “Have you forgotten about that particular item Eureka possesses?”

That item? Angel paused, realizing something as he turned to look.

There, on Eureka’s palm, was an exquisite crown.
