The integration of an item with flesh and blood symbolizes a unique bond and command over it.

On one hand, it provides a deeper understanding of the item’s essence, unleashing unprecedented power. On the other, this intimate bond is like marking one’s ownership, ensuring the item is not easily lost. Even if misplaced, one can sense its location through this very bond.

“So, the Scarlet Sovereignty has found its master?” a voice questioned. “That can’t be right. Angel mentioned that the Scarlet Sovereignty is inscribed with ‘Bloodline Tracing’ and its magic formation is still active. How could it have bonded to someone?”

“I too find it puzzling,” Suis confessed, “but from what I’ve observed recently, the Scarlet Sovereignty has indeed become a part of Eureka’s being.”

“When did she begin merging with the Scarlet Sovereignty?” Sanders inquired.

“At least before her madness took hold, I never witnessed her extracting the Scarlet Sovereignty from within herself,” replied Suis.

This suggested that Eureka might have only recently started this integration.

But hadn’t she already lost her sanity?

The deeper they delved into the mystery, the more perplexing it became. There seemed to be a lurking unease in the shadows, yet upon closer examination, the pieces remained elusive.

As Sanders grappled with the puzzle, Angel suddenly proposed, “The power of the Scarlet Sovereignty is to bewilder the mind, essentially turning others into loyal puppets. This leads me to wonder: those servants previously affected by the Scarlet Sovereignty — can Eureka truly control them?”

Angel’s query made Sanders’ eyes glint with realization, as if a thought had struck him.

Suis furrowed his brows, “I recall that the servants influenced by the Scarlet Sovereignty seemed eager to follow Eureka’s lead.”

“Following Eureka doesn’t necessarily imply that she commands the puppets; it could also be that——” Angel hesitated for a moment, then slowly voiced, “Perhaps the Scarlet Sovereignty is the puppeteer here.”

What Angel was trying to convey with this statement was a query: Is Eureka truly the master of the Scarlet Sovereignty?

Personally, Angel is inclined to say no. If Eureka truly was the master of the Scarlet Sovereignty, then why would she be affected by its influence? If she’s not, then who is orchestrating all this?

“You’re suggesting that the Scarlet Sovereignty has developed a consciousness, and it’s affecting and controlling Eureka?” Sanders looked at Angel inquisitively.

Angel responded, “Before I left the Old Land Continent, I had a close encounter with the Scarlet Sovereignty. At that time, I didn’t perceive any ‘sentience’. Of course, it’s possible that it had already achieved consciousness but was hiding it.”

Sanders furrowed his brow, “You had contact too? Was it a solitary interaction?”

Angel nodded, “In Suis’s Exile Space, I studied the magic formation of the Scarlet Sovereignty.”

Sanders retorted, “If it truly developed sentience, how could you, with your power at that time, possibly contend with the Scarlet Sovereignty? Its ability is to bewilder the mind. If it had sentience, you might have been ensnared by it. And since you were alone, if you were beguiled, it would be hard for outsiders to notice.”

This meant that, at least at that time, the Scarlet Sovereignty didn’t possess the so-called “consciousness.”

“So, did it only recently acquire this consciousness?” Suis inquired.

“The birth of consciousness is possible, even though I’ve never witnessed such a phenomenon with a Mysterious Object,” Angel paused, then continued, “But, I’m not solely referring to the birth of consciousness. Maybe the Scarlet Sovereignty doesn’t have ‘consciousness’ at all?”

Perhaps too close to see the bigger picture, Angel’s words plunged Suis further into confusion.

It was an outsider who seemed to grasp the essence of the situation first.

White Bear had, in reality, been listening to them for quite a while. He had been itching to chime in and inquire about Eureka’s condition, but Angel’s prior outburst of anger towards Eureka, coupled with the gravity of their discussion that pertained to the treasured artifact of King Guman, left him with no room to share his views. All he could do was patiently tune in, hoping to piece together details about Eureka through their dialogue.

As the conversation progressed, White Bear had mostly pieced together the crux of the matter. Though he was not entirely privy to the background details, he at least comprehended their discussion’s essence.

At the point when Angel remarked, “Perhaps the Scarlet Sovereignty lacks a soul,” White Bear seemed to have an epiphany.

“Earlier, Angel mentioned the Scarlet Sovereignty has ‘Bloodline Tracing’, indicating it already has an owner. Could it be that this owner is the puppet master behind all this?” White Bear voiced his suspicion.

Suis paused, taken aback, before the realization dawned on him. Indeed, that possibility existed and might not be as slim as previously thought. Suis had been oblivious, like missing the trees for the forest, primarily because King Guman never sent anyone, and they had planned to covertly infiltrate King Guman’s kingdom in search of this ‘owner’. Mentally positioning himself as the hunter and the others as the prey, this skewed perspective made him overlook this potential scenario.

“In that case, could Eureka’s transformation be this Other Master’s handiwork?” Suis suddenly clenched his fist in apprehension.

Angel interjected, “It’s merely speculation.”

Suis retorted, “But the likelihood is high. I’ve always been puzzled. Eureka once told me that the Scarlet Sovereignty’s effect is to bewilder one’s mind. While it’s true that beguiling the mind could drive one to madness, it would require subsequent manipulation by the puppeteer to achieve, and wouldn’t instantly plunge someone into lunacy and bloodlust.”

“The evidence is now clear. Those affected by the crimson light went mad. This suggests the nature of the Scarlet Sovereignty has been altered! And the one capable of this feat must be the true owner of the Scarlet Sovereignty! If we can locate them, perhaps we can counteract the effects of the Scarlet Sovereignty!”

If this hypothesis holds water, another quandary emerges: How does one unearth the identity of this so-called ‘master’?

For those who transcend the ordinary, concealing oneself is child’s play. Moreover, the possibility of remotely manipulating the Scarlet Sovereignty isn’t beyond the realm of possibility; provided the distance remains within certain boundaries, it’s entirely feasible.

“If we could get our hands on the Scarlet Sovereignty and observe the activation state of its magic formation, we could reverse engineer its location,” Angel postulated. However, the likelihood is slim, especially since Eureka integrated the Scarlet Sovereignty within herself, practically nixing any chance of retrieval.

If this avenue is a dead-end, what other strategies lie in our arsenal?

At that moment, Angel added, “When I was researching the Scarlet Sovereignty, my aim was to deduce the genuine owner’s bloodline information from the ‘Bloodline Tracing’ magic formation. If we had that bloodline data, we could pinpoint whether the purported ‘master’ is on the Old Land Continent. This would also allow us to verify any foul play on his part.”

If such bloodline data were at our disposal, it would be a far more efficient and expedient method than using magic formations. All eyes turned to Suis, who, looking rather sheepish, admitted, “I handed that bloodline data over to Eureka for safekeeping, so…”

Hence, they found themselves at a stalemate, up a creek without a paddle.

In truth, there was another method — eliminating Eureka. However, without question, Suis wouldn’t resort to such measures. Even though Sanders could pull it off, the benefits of such a move wouldn’t be as lucrative as one might assume.

Sanders wasn’t initially entangled in this matter to aid Suis in finding the master of the artifact. Getting involved was not his primary objective.

If it hadn’t involved Angel, Sanders would’ve probably washed his hands off the whole affair.

“If all paths lead to dead-ends, perhaps we should confront Eureka directly,” Sanders’ suggestion prompted everyone to turn their attention to him.

Considering Eureka’s unhinged state, would any discourse with her bear fruit?

“It remains a matter of debate whether Eureka has entirely lost her self-awareness. However, one thing is for sure — she hasn’t entirely forgotten certain events,” Sanders said, his gaze flickering towards White Bear, his implication clear as day.

Suis appeared to have grasped the crux of the matter. In essence, his ability to trap Eureka in the Exile Space was only possible because Eureka did not exhibit any strong malice towards him. This suggests that, deep down, Eureka might still retain a fragment of memory about him.

And as for White Bear, he was the one Eureka cared about the most. If he were allowed to approach her, it might just reignite Eureka’s already frayed memories, bringing her back to lucidity, even if for a fleeting moment.

Even a brief moment of clarity would suffice if he could obtain that individual’s “bloodline information.”

“Every night, Eureka becomes restless, and even the Exile Space can hardly contain her. Strangely enough, last night was the only time she stayed peaceful within the realm,” Suis remarked, casting a glance at White Bear. “It must be because of Hobson; he might genuinely have an effect on her.”

White Bear pointed to himself in bewilderment, “Me? Hold on, how do you know my name?”

“Aren’t you aware?” Suis shot back, puzzled, “Then how did you end up here?”

White Bear’s gaze landed on Angel.

Suis, with a hint of suspicion, looked at Angel, “Did you bring him here? I recall Eureka never mentioned anything about Hobson to you, did she?”

“Prophecy,” Angel responded, “When you all descended upon Pat Mansion, turning my home upside down, I was thrust into the heart of this prophecy. Much as I’d prefer otherwise, I had no other choice.”

Though Angel’s tone was even, the underlying sarcasm wasn’t lost on Suis.

In response, Suis chose not to comment further, instead turning his attention back to White Bear.

White Bear was, after all, an apprentice of prophecy, a detail Eureka had shared with him. He was aware that White Bear had always used prophecies to search for his past. However, Eureka, with her shielding abilities, had concealed White Bear’s visions.

Their arrival at Pat Mansion connected White Bear with Angel, who hailed from the mansion. This might very well be the bridge that led them here.

Upon reflecting on this, Suis said to White Bear, “I know your name because Eureka told me.”

“So, Eureka the ‘Tainted Blood Shadow Dagger’ is truly my family?” White Bear inquired with heightened emotion.

Suis hesitated, “Well… when Eureka awakens, it might be best for her to explain it to you personally.”

Though Suis didn’t spell it out, the answer was already crystal clear.

“There’s no time to lose. It’s daytime now, and Eureka’s madness is subdued. I’ll take you to see her immediately.” As Suis finished speaking, he prepared to guide White Bear, entering the Exile Space.

However, at that moment, Angel interrupted, “Wait.”

“I’ve answered most of your inquiries. But, we too seek answers to our questions.”

“Can those ordinary folks affected by the Scarlet Sovereignty be freed?”
