Angel ultimately decided against visiting Frost’s magical cottage. After all, the magical cottage was on Frost’s turf, and they were unsure about the tricks Frost might have up his sleeve.

They chose to meet in the Soul Domain of Black Castle instead.

In the lavish hall, Sanders, Isabelle, and Kimberley were all gathered.

Frost didn’t mind the assembly of everyone and didn’t chase anyone away. Instead, he casually flipped his hand and produced a peculiar hollowed-out bottle, placing it on the table.

A refreshing and tranquil aroma wafted out from the hollows of the bottle.

Taking in the delicate scent, Kimberley seemed to have an epiphany, and she couldn’t help but take a deeper inhalation, saying:

“Could this be Heavenly Coeur Wind from the Cyclone World?”

Frost nodded, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, “Indeed, it is Heavenly Coeur Wind. But it was only discovered and developed by a fragrance alchemist in recent years. I thought the news hadn’t spread to the Southern Region yet. I’m surprised someone here knows of it.”

“I had recently traveled through the Manlo Plane to return to the Southern Region. So, I was fortunate to have encountered the sample of Heavenly Coeur Wind at the Moon Fragrance Federation’s scent exhibition in the Lunar Commonwealth,” Kimberley said with a pleased expression, “However, the one I experienced then was mixed with other ingredients. The Heavenly Coeur Wind you have here is more gentle and refined, probably a natural variant.”

Frost responded with a nod and a smile.

Seeing the puzzled looks on everyone’s faces, Kimberley explained, “Heavenly Coeur Wind is an unusual sub-wind species in the Cyclone World. It’s at a stage about to evolve into an elemental life form. It was discovered and then refined by the renowned alchemist, Master Bitterjack.”

“The effects of Heavenly Coeur Wind are quite powerful.”

“When I had the privilege to experience it for the first time, I didn’t think much of it. But that night, I felt a pronounced expansion of my magic source. Not only did the amount of magic increase, but its purity also significantly improved,” Kimberly said. “This effect is immediate and has no harmful effects on the body.”

“The mere scent of Heavenly Coeur Wind is this potent. Imagine how much more effective it would be if it’s in its natural state in this bottle.”

After Kimberly’s words, everyone looked on in disbelief.

You see, Kimberly is already a witch of second level true knowledge. Even her magic source expanded due to Heavenly Coeur Wind, making its effects seem absolutely miraculous.

But more shocking than the effects of Heavenly Coeur Wind was Frost’s casual revelation of possessing a bottle. If Kimberly hadn’t explained, the others wouldn’t have known how wondrous the effects of Heavenly Coeur Wind were.

Under everyone’s gaze, Frost simply shrugged, “Heavenly Coeur Wind does indeed work wonders, but only for wizards below the third level.”

The implication was clear: to him, it was just a trinket.

Everyone had previously speculated that Frost might have surpassed the third level, perhaps even reaching the legendary realm. Though nobody asked directly, this thought solidified in their minds.

Only a wizard of a much higher realm would dismiss such a “trinket” with indifference.

“As for this Heavenly Coeur Wind, consider it a… gratitude for the insights you’ve shared, Angel. By the way, I refer to you as ‘Angel.’ I hope you don’t mind?” Frost looked over.

How could Angel object? He simply nodded in agreement.

When the others heard Frost’s words, their expressions dimmed, especially Isabella. Throughout, Frost hadn’t bothered to ask anyone else’s name. Clearly, Angel was held in higher regard by him, even though Angel was the weakest in terms of power present.

What further irritated Isabella was the fact that they could enjoy such a potent effect of Heavenly Coeur Wind, and from what Frost implied, it was all due to Angel. Did that not mean they now owed Angel a debt of gratitude?

While Isabella was deeply unsettled, she was gravely injured and potentially facing a legendary wizard, so she dared not act rashly. She bowed her head, silently cursing in her heart while simultaneously savoring the comforting embrace of the Heavenly Coeur Wind.

“I’ve mentioned before that I once followed a great alchemist,” Frost reminisced with a look of nostalgia and longing in his eyes. “An alchemist who had reached the mysterious realm.”

The group wasn’t too surprised. It seemed fitting that such a powerful wizard would be associated with a mysterious alchemist.

“She crafted Mysterious Objects on her own and has been involved in the creation of several others. Her experience was undoubtedly vast. Yet, even with such prowess, she encountered a failure while crafting a certain Mysterious Item. That failure led her to vanish from the face of the world, literally. She disappeared completely, her fate unknown.”

“I’ve searched for her over the years but found no clue. I’ve even consulted with super alchemy organizations, and it’s almost certain she’s trapped in an unknown and vast Vision Space. The chance of returning from there is virtually nil, as no one in history has ever made it back.”

A mysterious alchemist lost in a Vision Space? Meaning, a space created by the omen signs of alchemy?

As Angel was still processing this information, Frost turned to him and said, “So, I’m genuinely curious. Even though your alchemy attempt failed, why didn’t anything happen to you?”

Frost’s gaze was tranquil, unlike other wizards who subtly exude an aura of authority, often accompanied by an almost unapproachable aloofness.

To the naked eye, Frost appeared as an ordinary mortal, engrossed in a face-to-face conversation with Angel.

The delicate, sophisticated scent carried by the breeze and the serene illumination of the hall, combined with Frost’s calm demeanor, created an atmosphere that encouraged open-hearted confessions.

The surrounding individuals, be it Sanders or Isabelle, all fell silent in that moment, allowing Angel to take center stage in the discussion.

Even though Isabelle was aware of the alchemical circumstances at the time, only Angel could articulate the intricate details and the trials he faced.

Choosing his words carefully, Angel’s memories drifted back to that exhilarating yet perilous night.

Angel refrained from detailing the ominous signs from the outside world or the specific steps of his alchemy. Instead, he focused on recounting his emotional and spiritual journey.

“At a certain point during my alchemical process,” Angel began, “a sudden epiphany emerged. I felt instinctively that if I followed this insight, I’d achieve something unexpected…”

“… At that moment, the Mysterious Spirit appeared, with the souls of the departed coalescing into a shadow…”

As Angel delved deeper into his reminiscence, the listeners were enraptured, for such mysterious experiences were beyond the reach of most. However, just as the atmosphere peaked, Frost abruptly interjected, “Hold on, what did you just say?”

“The souls of the departed formed a shadow?”

“The sentence before that.”

“The Mysterious Spirit appeared?” Angel inquired with a hint of confusion.

Frost looked astounded, “How is this possible? The Mysterious Object you crafted follows the path of the Mysterious Spirit? Well, this can be considered a method of crafting Mysterious Objects, after all, the Prelude of Reincarnation pertains to the soul, so it’s not unreasonable to have a Mysterious Spirit. But, why would it appear? Are you sure the Mysterious Spirit truly manifested?”

Frost’s words seemed a bit disjointed, but his skepticism was evident in his tone.

“The Mysterious Spirit did indeed appear.” Angel wasn’t sure what surprised Frost so much and briefly described the situation, “The ghostly clouds in the sky kept shrinking until they condensed into a deep, dark soul…”

“This shadowy soul stood about three meters tall. Its appearance was indistinct, with prominent bull horns on its head, a voluptuous figure, raven-black wings on its back, and a black trident in its hand, which was hard to discern. From its silhouette alone, it resembled a female demon from the Abyss.”

“Upon this eerie soul’s appearance, it suppressed all other ghosts…”

As Angel described, the expression on Frost’s face became increasingly complex.

After a while, when Angel finished, Frost let out a deep sigh and looked at Angel with a peculiar gaze, “Now I understand why nothing happened to you, not only did you avoid calamity, but you also didn’t vanish or die.”

Everyone’s gaze turned to Frost, awaiting his explanation.

“Because…”

“You’ve already succeeded in your crafting!”

It was precisely because of this success that no disaster occurred.

Frost’s words were filled with disbelief and a hint of envy. Countless alchemists from the Source World risked everything, striving for that minuscule, almost nonexistent chance to step into the mysterious realm. Yet, to think that a third level apprentice… perhaps even weaker a few years ago, managed to reach such heights without guidance, inadvertently surpassing what others could only dream of achieving in their lifetimes.

Frost had originally intended to remind Angel, after this incident, to leave the knowledge-deprived Southern Region and venture to the Source World to learn a more complete alchemy system. Such an endeavor would ensure a brighter future for him. What Frost hadn’t anticipated, however, was that Angel had already taken such a step?!

“Could it be,” Frost pondered, “that the ‘Laissez-faire’ doctrine of the Greenwood Institute of Spell Research is indeed correct? Does it genuinely facilitate greater inspiration and lead to loftier achievements?”

Lost in thought, a sudden realization dawned upon Frost.

“Though I’m unsure how you navigated through the Vision Space transformed by the alchemy omen, the appearance of the Mysterious Spirit signifies your successful creation. Why then, at the end, did you produce the Half-Step Mysterious Prelude of Reincarnation? What exactly transpired in the final moments?”

By Frost’s calculations, there was only one conceivable reason for the Prelude of Reincarnation’s failure: a mishap in the very last step.

If this entire process were divided into a hundred steps, the first ninety-nine would be fraught with challenges.

Meaning, if one managed to cross the initial ninety-nine hurdles, the final step should be a cakewalk — merely merging the Mysterious Spirit seamlessly into the Prelude of Reincarnation to seal the success. This final step should have been practically handed to them on a silver platter!

Yet, inexplicably, something went wrong during this supposedly simplest phase?!

What in the world happened?
