Chapter 1436 Continuation of the Story <TOC> Chapter 1438 Limitations

The manifestation of the Spell Creation Vision that beckoned the World Will has occurred in the Source World before. However, this descent of the World Will is not as Frost understood it.
Though the World Will descended, it didn’t reveal itself but remained hidden behind layers of the void. It was as if it was… observing from the shadows?
Such behavior might seem ordinary to the common creatures, but this is the “World Will”, seen by some wizards as synonymous with “Truth”, or perhaps the “Ultimate” entity!
The World Will is an aggregate of informational consciousness, a magnificent operational will, without its own cognitive capability. So, its behavior of ‘observing from the shadows’ is exceedingly rare.
This was precisely why Frost took note of that Spell Creation Vision.
Yet, at that time, due to his urgency in searching for the Box of Reincarnation, Frost, though curious, did not delve into that Vision.
Now, hearing Sanders’ words, he couldn’t help but connect these two Visions.
Because, in this latest Vision——
The World Will has descended once again.
Moreover, its behavior was strikingly similar to the previous one, with the World Will in the forefront, while it remained concealed.
The situation was eerily reminiscent of the previous time.
After a moment of contemplation, Frost decided to access his long-sealed memory box, recalling the layout of the Southern Region’s map, trying to pinpoint the exact location of that Spell Creation Vision in the Southern Region.
After a while, he turned to Sanders, “You mentioned that Angel, not long ago, also triggered the Spell Creation Vision. Could it have been outside the Vast Continent… Let me think, perhaps the Whale Whisker Sea?”
Sanders nodded in slight surprise, “Indeed.”
It must be him.
A subtle change appeared in Frost’s gaze. Initially, when he learned that Angel had touched the mysterious realm, a vague thought surfaced in his mind. At this moment, that idea grew even more powerful. A wizard with potential, creativity, and the attention of the primary consciousness might indeed be worth waiting for.
“Lord Frost, are you aware of the recent Spell Creation Vision?” Sanders inquired with a puzzled look.
Frost, not revealing the thoughts hidden deep within his heart, merely continued to conceal them. Looking at Sanders, he gently nodded, “Yes, I happened to be near the Southern Region’s void and sensed that Spell Creation Vision.”
“Was there anything unusual about that Vision?”
Frost chuckled, replying with profound implications, “Nothing out of the ordinary, but in my eyes, that Vision was quite intriguing.”
Yet, where the intrigue lay, Frost did not elaborate, instead shifting the topic to the world of gateways before them.
“These gateways here are quite fascinating, don’t you think?”
Isabelle cast her gaze over the diverse array of gateways, a hint of confusion in her eyes. To her, these gateways seemed utterly bizarre.
They appeared both real and illusory.
Existing between reality and fantasy.
Sanders too focused his attention on the gateways. As an illusionist wizard, he could distinctly feel that these gateways were mere illusions.
However, these Visions have reached a point where they can influence the material world, echoing closely with the concept of “True Illusion.”
When an illusion achieves this level, whether you call it real or not, it doesn’t really matter.
It’s like the well where Sparrow Blossom has resided all these years. Angel crafted an illusory room for Sparrow Blossom. To outsiders, the essence of this room is simply an illusion. Yet, in Sparrow Blossom’s heart, it genuinely exists. She can rest, read, listen to the Illusion Music Box, and even jot down her diary entries within it.
While it is an illusion, it also has genuine existence.
“These gateways represent Visions as well as illusions. Yet, the lines between reality and fantasy blur — when an illusion can impact the real world, it becomes real,” Frost observed, discerning the reality behind these gateways as he elegantly approached this world of gateways.
Soon after, Frost stopped before a dilapidated wooden gateway. As Sanders and Isabelle looked on with puzzlement, the aged gateway creaked open, revealing a dark abyss beyond.
Even bathed in bright light, one couldn’t discern what lay beyond the gateway. All that was visible was an engulfing darkness, like a gaping maw ready to consume any who approached.
Any other wizard might ponder deeply when confronted with such a gateway, weighing the pros and cons before making a decision: to enter or not.
Yet, without any hesitation, Frost stepped through as soon as the gateway was ajar.
His silhouette didn’t emerge from the other side. Instead, it vanished entirely.
As Sanders and Isabelle looked on in bewilderment, Frost’s voice echoed from a distance, “It seems these gateways possess certain spatial properties.”
Following the source of the voice, they saw another wooden gateway being pushed open in the not-so-distant area, with Frost’s figure emerging from within.
Frost’s eyes flickered with curiosity as he opened a large gateway. Moments later, he emerged from behind another gateway in the distance.
After several passages through these gateways, a smile crept across Frost’s lips, “It possesses the qualities of illusion and partially that of space, a fascinating Spell Creation Vision.”
Frost’s words left Isabelle both astonished and pensive.
As Frost had previously mentioned, the Spell Creation Vision is intimately linked to the nature of the spell being created. The current Visions possessing both illusionary and spatial traits suggest that Angel’s Spell Creation might also have these two characteristics.
What kind of Original Spell might that be?
Isabelle thought of Sanders’ Spell Creation——Nightmare Double.
To outsiders, this spell seemed to have both spatial and illusionary properties. However, since it could trigger a Spell Creation Vision, it should be distinctly different from the Nightmare Double.
With her curiosity piqued, Isabelle approached one of the gateways and, imitating Frost’s actions, pushed it open.
Sanders remained unmoved, not bothering to deduce the relationship between these myriad gateways and Angel’s Spell Creation. After all, he could simply ask Angel about the nature of the spell he had created.
What Sanders was more curious about was the meaning behind these Gateway Visions. Why were they here?
He began to observe carefully.
Soon, Sanders discerned a pattern: these gateways existed in pairs. For instance, when Frost entered through an old wooden gateway, he would inevitably exit from another identical old wooden gateway.
In other words, the gateways existed in matched pairs. One couldn’t enter a wooden gateway and exit from an iron one.
Yet, among these paired gateways, one particular gateway captured Sanders’ attention.
He stood before this gateway.
It was a simple gateway, devoid of elaborate designs or intricate carvings. Yet its mere presence struck Sanders as odd.
“Did you notice it too?” Frost’s voice echoed from behind.
Sanders turned to look and saw both Frost and Isabelle approaching, their gazes fixed on the same gateway.
Sanders commented, “Out of the over a thousand gateways here, this is the only one that stands alone.”
All other gateways were paired, but this one was solitary.
“Where do you think it leads?” Isabelle curiously inquired, noting that while all other gateways had corresponding exits, where might this lone gateway go?
“Why not open it and find out?” Frost suggested.
Isabelle stepped forward and tried to push, but no matter what she did, the gateway remained firmly shut.
It was a gateway sealed shut.
Watching her struggle, a glint of realization flashed in Frost’s eyes. Behind his mask, a smirk formed, “Just as I thought. It’s what was left behind…”
“Left behind by whom?” Isabelle asked, puzzled, looking at Frost.
Instead of explaining, Frost whispered, “Angel has awoken from his stupor. It’s time to return. Perhaps he has the answers you seek, if he’s willing to share.”
With those words, Frost’s figure began to fade.
Before he disappeared completely, Isabelle questioned, “Will these Spell Creation Visions always remain here?”
While this place feels like a void, its location in relation to the Middle World is right near the Living Soul Garden. Isabelle has her concerns; she wonders if the prolonged presence of this Spell Creation Vision might impact the Living Soul Garden.
“What’s gone will be gone, but what exists will persist.”
Frost leaves behind this cryptic message, vanishing without a trace.
…
Middle World, beneath the dome.
Angel awakens from his meditation, his thoughts still somewhat muddled. Just a moment ago, all his attention was focused on the changes in the Gateway Model.
He hadn’t anticipated that when the special energy filled the Gateway Model, a second Spell Creation Vision would appear.
Moreover, this Spell Creation Vision once again showed Angel that particular “path.”
Countless pieces of information converge, forming a grand and powerful road!
This road is merely a metaphor; it doesn’t truly exist, nor does it have the shape of a “road”. But in Angel’s eyes, it’s a path constructed of endless knowledge and information!
The first time he witnessed this path, it vanished quickly.
This time, the path didn’t last long either, but Angel felt an inkling that the road hadn’t truly disappeared but was obscured by a fog.
If he could dispel this fog, perhaps he’d see it once more.
How to dispel the fog, Angel doesn’t know. However, he feels that it might not be too challenging for him.
The matter of the path didn’t leave much of an impression in Angel’s heart.
Because of this, his attention was soon captivated by another matter: the Gateway Model in the Spell Position.
Angel had always been curious about what would happen when the Gateway Model was filled with a unique energy.
Now, the answer had unveiled itself.
Angel could faintly perceive the effects of the Gateway Model. However, there were still many mysteries inside that remained unsolved. Only by genuinely experimenting would he come to understand.
Yet, when Angel, driven by his curiosity, wanted to attempt it, he realized there were certain limitations to this Gateway Model.
The reason Angel stood deep in thought for so long was that he was probing the restrictions of this Gateway Model.
