Sanders and Angel proceeded forward, with the apprentices clearing a path for them along the way.

When Angel reached the entrance of the Ice Cavern, his eyebrows slightly raised.

The other apprentices gathered around the cave’s entrance, but none dared to enter. The main reason wasn’t out of fear of offending Gloria and Felicia, but rather——

A pure and immense energy that continuously enveloped the passage ahead.

The intensity of this energy was terrifying. Any apprentice who ventured inside would easily be injured. Blood stains were visible on the pristine white ground of the cave, suggesting that some had already entered and were severely wounded.

Learning from the misfortunes of their peers, the apprentices naturally hesitated to enter.

Sanders also noticed the dispersing energy, but without any hesitation, he stepped in, closely followed by Angel.

While the energy was overwhelming, for Angel, even before he became a formal wizard, his physical strength alone was enough to cope with it. Now, being a formal wizard, he could easily find the leverage point of the energy, diverting it and avoiding any damage to himself.

As Sanders continued to walk ahead, Angel followed, sensing the crystal-clear energy surrounding them.

Although this energy could harm the human body, upon closer inspection, Angel realized that the energy possessed a highly concentrated light quality. It seemed as though it had the power to purify all the impurities and darkness in the world.

Angel recalled hearing that the reason Gloria and Felicia came to Black Castle was to help bring about change. Their seclusion in the Ice Cavern was for researching a “Feast” that could completely eradicate the ghostly aura of Black Castle.

If the “Feast” refers to the energy permeating within the cavern, Angel feels that it might indeed be possible to achieve it.

As Angel pondered, they had already delved deep into the Ice Cavern.

The temperature inside the cavern was extremely cold. The more they walked into the pristine cavern, the more they could feel the rapidly dropping temperature. Deeper inside, a thick frosty mist floated in the air, and the walls on both sides were already covered in ice.

Suddenly, Sanders stopped. Angel looked ahead with puzzlement, only to find a forked path ahead.

Sanders closed his eyes as if sensing which way to go.

Shortly after, Sanders opened his eyes and headed down the left path. Angel watched Sanders’ choice with a slightly bemused expression. Coincidentally, Angel and Shadow had encountered this same forked path before, and they too had chosen the left side.

Walking down this path again, Angel felt a strange sensation in his heart. He had a hunch that the place where Gloria and Felicia were developing the “Feast” might be where he and Shadow had rested before.

The reason for this thought was that the place they had rested was right outside the storage room for magical materials.

Since Gloria and Felicia were helping Black Castle research ways to remove the ghostly aura, they definitely wouldn’t use their own materials. They probably used materials stored in the Ice Cavern itself. Hence, the probability of choosing that location was much higher.

Sure enough, when Angel and Sanders reached the depths of the corridor, Angel faintly saw the place where he and Shadow had rested. In that space, which was clearly more spacious than its surroundings, several figures stood.

Moreover, upon reaching here, the clear energy had become extremely dense.

If a regular apprentice were to arrive here, it would no longer be a matter of just being injured. There’s a high chance they would sustain fatal injuries.

The density of the energy was so immense, it was as if it was everywhere, permeating every nook and cranny. Even an average formal wizard would have to make careful calculations to find the leverage point of this energy in order to proceed.

Sanders and Angel were clearly no ordinary wizards.

Sanders moved forward without any hesitation, and not a single trace of the surrounding energy managed to infiltrate him. Angel was the same, but not because he was extraordinary at calculations. He too had his moments of miscalculation, but his formidable physique remained unaffected by the energy.

When they reached this open area… or perhaps it’s better described as a small plaza, the first thing Angel laid his eyes upon was a peculiar orb enveloped in a hazy mist.

The orb was roughly the size of a person, emitting an unpredictable shimmering light. The dispersed energy in the Ice Cavern all originated from this orb.

Near the orb, Angel finally spotted Gloria and Felicia, whom he hadn’t seen for a long time.

Gloria stood below the orb, its flickering light casting a defined and bold glow on her face. Ironically, the body she currently inhabited was that of a delicate and graceful young girl.

Felicia stood not far behind Gloria, dressed in a deep black gown with a faint purple hue at its hem. The gown sparkled like grains of sand, reminiscent of the twinkling stars on a serene night.

Felicia’s demeanor was calm, with two differently colored butterflies fluttering around her, giving her an aloof and unattainable aura, like a flower atop a high peak.

Opposite Gloria and Felicia were Isabella and Lady Kimberly.

As Angel and Sanders entered the plaza, all eyes turned to them, with the majority of the gazes fixated on Angel.

Sanders had already informed Gloria of Angel’s promotion through a message beforehand.

Even though Gloria and Felicia had mentally prepared themselves, they were still shocked when they saw Angel. Gloria had made early investments in Angel and always believed in Angel’s potential, so she accepted Angel’s advancement with relative ease.

But Felicia was different. Her knowledge of Angel was superficial. Although she was aware of Angel’s alchemy skills, she never fully recognized Angel’s true potential.

Now, knowing Angel’s promotion… especially when Felicia felt an intense threat from Angel, she found it absurd.

Not to mention Angel’s advancement, just advancing to a level that could threaten her, felt like a nonsensical drama written by a drunk playwright.

Yet, this absurd play unfolded right before Felicia’s eyes.

Kimberly and Isabella also focused on Angel. Kimberly looked with admiration, while Isabella only took a glance and withdrew her gaze, instinctively stepping back.

Kimberly gave Gloria and Felicia a faint smile, “We have a fair understanding of this ‘Feast’. Since Sanders is here, the rest is up to you.”

Gloria nodded in acknowledgment to Kimberly.

“No matter the outcome of the Feast, thank you both for supporting Black Castle,” Kimberly said, then turned to leave with Isabella.

As she passed by Angel, Kimberly nodded slightly, “Congratulations again on stabilizing the Magic Vortex so quickly. I’m not as good as you.”

Angel responded with a smile.

Kimberly winked at Angel, “Don’t forget, our alchemy exchange isn’t over yet. I’ve been waiting patiently.”

After Kimberly finished speaking, she left with Isabella. Isabella didn’t utter a word from beginning to end. Due to the incidents in Corpse Forest, she was gravely injured, her power significantly diminished. Facing Angel, she no longer had the confidence in her strength, so rather than causing a verbal confrontation, it was better to take her leave early.

When Kimberly and Isabella left, Angel and Sanders approached.

Gloria sized up Angel from head to toe and finally let out a deep sigh, “Your growth rate is truly beyond my expectations.”

Angel responded, “Sometimes I feel like I’m being pushed forward by fate, just drifting along like a leaf in the wind. I often find myself surprised by the turn of events.”

Gloria nodded thoughtfully, “Indeed, The Unpredictability of Fate always catches us off guard. I didn’t expect to hear such shocking news when I came out of my retreat. It’s often said that real-life experiences are more dramatic than any performance on stage.”

Pausing for a moment, Gloria chuckled, “I remember you didn’t believe in fate before.”

“I still don’t,” Angel raised an eyebrow.

A while later, an ice-crafted long table appeared in the small square, with a hazy orb of light hovering above it. On either side of the table were wizards from Candy House and Phantom Island.

“Now that Angel has also advanced, Lord Phantom Master’s selection of disciples is indeed sharp and discerning. Next time I take on an apprentice, perhaps I should ask Lord Phantom master to vet them?” Gloria teased with a smile.

However, faced with Gloria’s teasing, Sanders remained expressionless, choosing not to respond.

Gloria sighed, “Still the same as ever,” she whispered to Angel, “Don’t ever become like your mentor.”

Angel just smiled, not responding.

In her heart, Gloria scoffed, thinking to herself: These two, mentor and disciple, are indeed cut from the same cloth.

“By the way, I’ve heard that you’ve advanced before, but why did you choose to do it at this time in Black Castle?” Gloria curiously asked.

Angel replied without hesitation, briefly explaining the events that had taken place.

After listening, Gloria and Felicia furrowed their brows, not expecting that there would be such a mysterious person lurking in the background——Frost.

He seems to be a powerful being that surpasses legendary!

Gloria wanted to delve deeper into this topic, but due to Frost’s involvement, she decided it was best to pause. After all, Frost was in Black Castle, and it wasn’t the right time to discuss a wizard who might be above legendary behind his back.

Setting aside Frost, Gloria was genuinely happy for Angel’s advancement. Ever since Angel became a formal wizard, she felt a deep bond with him. This bond intensified when Toby took the initiative to part ways with Angel.

This bond was also Gloria’s investment in Angel, so she would never wish any ill will towards him.

Gloria then inquired about the details of his advancement and finally understood why Angel had previously mentioned “fate”. It did indeed give an illusion of the unpredictability of fate

Gloria expressed her admiration and finally shifted the topic away from Angel’s advancement, returning to the main subject.
