Chapter 1509 Divine Armament

Carvelyn remained unfazed, sneering, “Do you think you can hide forever?”

As she spoke, she gently touched the armor on her chest. With a flicker of radiant light, the armor and flowing gown she wore underwent a remarkable transformation.

Her armor slowly dissolved, and her gown stretched lengthwise.

The steel feathers that had previously been scattered by Carvelyn began to fade away.

As the luminance receded from Carvelyn, her armor had disappeared, replaced by a hooded robe that veiled half her face.

This robe was pure white, edged with gold, and at its center on her chest was a golden heart-shaped rune. Due to her proud figure, this golden heart rune protruded conspicuously.

“Wherever you hide, you’re not safe. Under the force of the ‘Heart of the Divine Robe,’ all things will be revealed,” Carvelyn declared, her hands clasped together at the chest rune. A golden heart-shaped illusion radiated from her, plunging her surroundings into darkness — be it the streets, buildings, or onlookers.

However, as she silently invoked the rune’s power, waves of this heart power expanded outward.

Each time this force expanded substantially, everything in her vision started to brighten.

Within the range of this heart power, nothing could be concealed.

Carvelyn spotted many hidden figures. For instance, at the top of a distant clock tower were several concealed law enforcement agents, one of whom emitted an aura of terrifying bloodlust — likely a high-ranking wizard among them.

Similarly, a hundred meters away, a vague shadow stood at the end of the street, exuding an enigmatic and fluctuating aura of majestic power — likely another concealed law enforcement leader.

The members of these law enforcement teams, Carvelyn naturally wouldn’t expose their positions. Her sole focus was on that uninhibited, arrogant magician girl!

Finally, when her mental force extended behind a building, Carvelyn spotted the magician girl who was skulking in hiding!

A sardonic smile curled at the corner of Carvelyn’s lips. With a flick of her finger in mid-air, the magician girl was unknowingly tagged with a mental mark.

At this moment, the young magician girl was secretly mumbling, “I remember my mentor saying that the Shepherd’s Robe contains the essence of a Demon God, capable of shape-shifting at will. Each form grants specific powers… I wonder what the purpose of that priestly robe could be?”

“Let’s not be hasty; keep observing.” With that thought, she concealed herself and took another peek outside.

What she saw was Carvelyn in mid-air, her white hooded robe having morphed again — this time into a simple yet elegant witch’s gown. What made it particularly peculiar was that it was covered with spatial runes symbolizing space and time. Suspended above her head was an hourglass.

As Carvelyn brandished her noble rapier with both hands, the hourglass above her began to turn, its pure white sands of time trickling down.

——”Sixty seconds of temporal slaughter, commence.”

While the young magician girl was still perplexed by Carvelyn’s garment transformation, she heard Carvelyn’s voice filled with icy mockery beside her, “I told you, you can’t escape.”

She whirled around only to find that Carvelyn had somehow materialized beside her, and the golden rapier was already sweeping toward her neck.

High up in the clock tower, Sabo stroked his chin, a glint of cunning light in his eyes, “To temporarily become a being of time and space — truly worthy of Divine Armament…”

At the end of the street, Angel’s eyes, too, were shimmering with radiance.

He had seen Carvelyn’s divine dress transformation before, but he had never truly experienced its combat power. Now, as he witnessed Carvelyn’s ever-changing outfit, he couldn’t help but marvel.

The power of her divine dress was evident. Its power was clear from the damage on the street and the marked scarring on the surrounding buildings; a testament to its formidable destructive capabilities.

Her “Soul Robe” was also incredibly powerful for mental probing. Angel was certain that even if he were in a state of illusionary concealment, Carvelyn’s robe would have detected him.

As for her current Time-Space Witch outfit, it was even more powerful. In Angel’s eyes, Carvelyn had essentially become a swirling mass of spatial energy. As long as the surrounding space remained stable, she could effortlessly traverse it!

Of course, due to Carvelyn’s limited power, her teleportation was only over short distances; she likely couldn’t teleport even a hundred meters. But this was merely a limitation of Carvelyn herself, and not of the divine dress.

If a formal wizard wore this divine dress, it’s likely they could perform medium to long-range spatial displacements! The terrifying capabilities of this divine dress were unmistakable.

A true weapon of the gods!

As an alchemist, Angel was itching to borrow it for research if possible…

In the heat of battle, the magician girl managed to narrowly dodge Carvelyn’s decapitating strike, panicking and immediately deploying a multitude of water illusions in an attempt to hide herself once again.

However, Carvelyn seemed to have zeroed in on her. Every time the magician girl tried to evade, Carvelyn would instantly teleport in front of her, mocking her ineffectiveness through action.

Clearly, the Divine Dress Maiden, a seed of potential worthy of winning the Novastar Competition, was not to be underestimated!

However, the young magician girl was no slouch either. Despite Carvelyn’s relentless pursuit through space and time, she managed to escape multiple times. More than half of the minute dedicated to this temporal slaughter had already passed!

However, despite her numerous escapes, the magician girl found herself entirely on the defensive, with no time to cast spells. This was due to Carvelyn’s relentless pursuit with the Tine-Witch outfit that could teleport in front of her at any moment, interrupting any action she took.

Seeing her efforts wane, the magician girl seemed to make a decisive move and poured a luminous droplet of water from a teapot.

As the droplet hit the ground, a torrent of water erupted skyward.

Almost in the blink of an eye, the entire street transformed into a long river.

The magician girl concealed herself within the flow of water, her form shimmering and shifting, her speed astonishingly faster than on land.

Carvelyn had used her temporal slaughter to pinpoint the magician girl’s location, but each time she teleported there, the magician girl had already slipped away like a slippery fish. Simultaneously, the surrounding water would manifest into countless hands dragging Carvelyn towards the brink of drowning.

Carvelyn used teleport to ascend to the sky.

From this aerial view, the nearby blocks had already turned into an expansive sea, its waters steadily rising.

At that moment, the figure of the young magician girl suddenly surfaced from the water, standing on it and grinning at Carvelyn: “It seems your trump card, the temporal slaughter, isn’t all that great. Let’s see, the time should be less than ten seconds now, right? Do you think I can last?”

With Carvelyn’s current power, her Time-Space Witch outfit could only be controlled for sixty seconds.

Up until now, on the stage of the Novastar Competition, only one person had lasted more than sixty seconds against her temporal slaughter. That person was none other than “Son of the Ocean,” Jiebo, who stood at the absolute pinnacle of the Novastar leaderboard.

It appeared that the second person to last sixty seconds had now emerged.

Although it wasn’t in the Novastar Competition, it still spoke volumes about the magician girl’s capabilities.

Moreover, even in the current situation, the magician girl still had the audacity to taunt Carvelyn, indicating that she wasn’t yet in dire straits.

Carvelyn’s expression was grim, but she paid no heed to the sarcasm directed at her. With a wave of her sleeve, she deactivated her Time-Space Witch outfit, and her body radiated a soft blue light.

Clearly, Carvelyn had once again switched her magical outfit.

As the blue light dissipated, what came into everyone’s sight was a mermaid, her whole body shimmering with a moist, glossy, blue luster!

The mermaid still bore Carvelyn’s appearance, but within the watery light, she possessed a dreamlike beauty. In her hand, she held a trident nearly as long as her previous heavy spear. With a casual wave, the turbulent waters below her became tranquil, as if she were a true goddess of the sea.

The magician girl’s eyes widened. Carvelyn had actually transformed into a mermaid at this moment!

Fighting water with water!

The magician girl’s expression remained unchanged, but internally, she couldn’t help but curse repeatedly. The awe induced by this Sea Goddess-like guise was too overwhelming. Not only did the outfit allow one to transcend space-time, but this equipment also enabled a mermaid transformation! Most importantly, how could such powerful equipment be controlled by an apprentice? What chance did that leave for everyone else?

If the battle had started fresh, the magician girl would not have been afraid; as a water-element apprentice, she considered herself no less capable than someone who relied on external forces to transform into a mermaid.

But now, though she still appeared to be at ease, her internal energy was already running low.

Carvelyn was essentially a close-combat fighter. If she approached her as a mermaid, the game would essentially be over for her.

“What rotten luck today, to have encountered such a monster,” the magician girl muttered to herself. She had absolutely no self-reflection on why Carvelyn was relentlessly going for the kill against her.

With a graceful splash, Carvelyn dove into the water.

The clarion call for battle sounded once more.

“Continuing to entangle in this could significantly increase the odds of being killed… What should I do?” The magician girl’s eyes rapidly scanned her surroundings as she noticed Carvelyn closing in on her. When she saw the crowd of onlookers atop nearby buildings, a sly grin appeared on her face. “I’ve got it.”

“Gurgle, it’s your turn!”

As the magician girl spoke, the rose-patterned teapot floating around her emitted a faint glow. The lid started to tremble as if it were being scorched by boiling flames, producing a ‘gurgle-gurgle’ sound.

The moment the “water boiled,” the lid burst open, and a small otter adorned with a pearl necklace leapt out.

The otter let out a loud cry: “Gurgle-gurgle!”

A series of strange sound waves spread into the water. Before the spectators could even react, they felt a shadow loom overhead.

Looking up, they saw a tidal wave, tens of meters high, rising from all directions, as if they were encircled by a fortress of water.

The scene was like a city facing doomsday under a cataclysmic flood!

“Gurgle-gurgle!” The otter cried out once more.

As its cry faded, the walls of the watery fortress collapsed simultaneously, slamming down with an overwhelming force.

Countless oblivious individuals were swept away by the deluge.

At least a thousand people struggled for their lives amidst the raging flood.

Initially, Carvelyn was able to sense her mental mark’s location, but as more and more people filled the water and chaotic energies obscured her senses, she found herself at a loss. Furthermore, the turbulent waves and everyone’s frantic attempts at self-preservation blocked Carvelyn’s path. Left with no other option, she could only watch helplessly as her target vanished from her line of sight…
