Angel is about to start teaching at Achillea Comprehensive College, entering the tranquil alchemy community like a whirlwind.

The situation is reminiscent of when Angel was crafting the Rhythm of the Ocean. Initially, the water was placid, but with the slightest breeze, ripples quickly formed and rapidly radiated outward.

The rapidity of this expansion, along with the ensuing clamor for course enrollment, has taken some Research Institute members who heard the news by surprise.

As the Vice Dean of Achillea, Sherry witnesses, for the first time, course enrollment on such a large scale. Moreover, the fervor has extended beyond the alchemy community, reaching even those on the periphery.

Though the current focus is on the Novastar Competition, Angel’s name has never disappeared from public discourse. Many are curious about whether Angel has advanced in his realm or not. Now, news of Angel offering a course indirectly confirms that he’s back in Sky Mechanical City, piquing the curiosity and even adoration or resentment of many, and they are eager to find out more.

This is one reason behind the enrollment frenzy.

Due to the overwhelming number of applicants, Angel’s class has a limitation much like the Water Ripple Witch: only fifty spots are available. Left with no choice, Vice Dean Sherry has to swallow her pride and ask Antonio to contact Angel, hoping to increase the number of seats.

However, Angel’s response to Sherry was a counter-question: “In the context of courses offered by Research Institute members, is fifty a large or a small number?”

Fifty seats are neither the highest nor the lowest among courses given by Research Institute members. The attendance is only slightly less than the classes taught by Director Muse and the Mushroom Witch. However, these two don’t typically focus on alchemy in their classes, so even if there’s no limit on enrollment, the actual attendance isn’t that high.

“Since it’s not considered a lot, there’s no need to increase the number,” Angel said, even contemplating reducing some spots.

For Angel’s course, he hasn’t increased the number of seats for class registration, but there’s an overwhelming number of people trying to grab a spot. Among them are some closely connected to Achillea Comprehensive College. As a result, discreet maneuvers had to be made to manage the situation. What’s publicly touted as fair class registration is, behind the scenes, clearly priced and sorted.

Angel doesn’t mind this. Although he feels some pressure about teaching, his ultimate goal is merely to cheat the syst… earn points, not to formally take on disciples. So it doesn’t matter who ends up in his class.

The storm of class registration continues for two days. Although the fifty available spots are basically settled by now, the uproar still resonates within Sky Mechanical City.

However, Angel has already turned his attention away from this matter.

Because the Novastar Competition’s next round is about to commence.

Knock, knock, knock——

The sound of crisp knocking emanates from the balcony window.

Lifting his head from his feverish writing, Angel doesn’t move an inch. Two phantasmal limbs materialize out of thin air behind him; one draws the curtain aside, and the other expertly pushes the window open.

As the window swings open, a small shadow darts inside.

The shadow carries a faint scent and finally settles beside Angel’s neck, nuzzling it plaintively.

Angel looks down at the shadow——it’s Toby, covered in dust, chirping pitifully. It seems to be trying to evoke Angel’s sympathy with its cries, which are sharper than usual.

“You ungrateful little creature, training you is for your own good,” says a disgruntled female voice from the side.

Angel turns his head and sees Gloria, dressed in a bright purple long dress, floating through the opened window and landing on the chair opposite him.

Gloria pointed at Toby, who put on an innocent face as if he didn’t understand what she was saying. “This guy could easily manipulate energy to keep dust off himself, yet he chooses not to. He wants you to see him in this pitiful state, just so he can evade training.”

“I have a strong suspicion that this behavior of his is influenced by the Tribulation of Resentment. Therefore, I’ve decided to increase his training regimen starting today.”

Upon hearing Gloria’s words, Toby couldn’t maintain his facade of ignorance any longer. A rolling cry of protest came from his mouth, its meaning self-evident.

Gloria’s mind was made up, and Toby couldn’t sway her. He could only turn to Angel, hoping for some compassion from his young master.

Angel displayed a face of pity and reluctance, and even smoothed Toby’s ruffled feathers. Under Toby’s hopeful gaze, Angel gently said, “This is really for your own good.”

Toby let out a whining chirp.

Although Angel’s sentiment mirrored Gloria’s, one played the good cop and the other the bad cop. In the end, Toby could only accept his fate in a daze.

After resolving the issue with Toby, Angel looked at Gloria in confusion, “Is there anything else?”

Gloria pointed to the clock on the wall. “Don’t tell me you’ve lost track of time.”

Angel looked at the clock hands pointing to eight in the morning. After a moment of thought, a light of realization dawned on him. “I almost forgot, today marks the beginning of the Novastar Competition’s knockout stage.”

He had accepted a special judge role for the Novastar Competition. Although he only had to attend ten matches, and could choose which ones to judge, there were two matches he definitely had to attend.

These were today’s preliminary round and the final match at the close of the Novastar Competition. He had to be there for both, and showing up for today’s preliminaries would also put an end to the rumors about whether he would advance in the competition.

Angel tidied up the notes on his table about shape-shifting analysis, preparing to freshen up briefly before heading to the Infinite Battle Tower.

With a casual wave of his hand, a water mirror appeared in midair.

Looking at his reflection, Angel noticed that although he had been practicing shape-shifting for many days, he appeared neat and tidy thanks to cleansing spells.

He looked presentable, but from a personal etiquette standpoint, Angel still decided to neaten himself up.

However, Angel’s idea of tidying up was simply a flicker of illusion magic. His slightly wrinkled gentleman’s suit appeared brand-new under the cover of the spell.

“I’m all set,” Angel confidently declared.

Witnessing this, Gloria thought, “…” That kind of tidying lacks soul! Plus, covering it up with illusions is simply self-deception.

Shaking her head disapprovingly, Gloria continued, “I’ve always thought you were similar to your mentor, but now I see that at least in terms of etiquette, Sanders is much more traditional than you.”

Sanders, at least, wouldn’t resort to illusions to paper over the cracks.

After speaking, Gloria took out a set of clothing — a dark nobleman’s suit with a pure white inner lining, a subtly patterned necktie, and an array of gold accessories, including a cane, a brooch, and cufflinks…

“Is this… for me?” Angel asked.

Gloria nodded, “Yes.”

Without declining, Angel examined the Attire. Although the craftsmanship and materials were excellent, they were not alchemical creations.

Once he put it on, Angel noticed that the black suit subtly revealed dark green patterns, as though imbued with the distant allure of emeralds under the moonlight.

His originally gentle aura seemed to be veiled, exuding an air of aloofness and indifference.

Gloria watched as Angel donned the attire; his upright figure evoked a touch of nostalgia in her eyes. “Actually, this outfit was originally intended for Houston, but in the end, it was never given to him.”
