“Sudar? Are you the Pale Witch?”

The snow raven nodded, “It’s an honor to be recognized by you, Lord Super Dimensional.”

Angel replied, “Witch Sudar is actually my senior. You can simply call me by my name.”

Angel had naturally heard of the name of the Pale Witch.

She was also from the Frost Moon Alliance, and although her capabilities amounted to only a first level wizard, she was nonetheless a core member within the Frost Moon Alliance. The exact reason for this was elusive to outsiders, but her reputation had long been disseminated among the public.

“Since that’s your request, I’ll call you by your name; don’t take offense,” the snow raven said, winking at Angel.

Angel responded with an indifferent smile.

At that moment, Gloria suddenly asked, “What brings you here? Is it for Angel?”

Gloria’s words prompted Angel to scrutinize the snow raven more closely. Although there seemed to be no overt conflict between him and the Frost Moon Alliance, the fact that he had managed to survive his sojourn in the Abyss and return to the Wizarding World led to some suspicions among the upper echelons of the Frost Moon Alliance.

And given that Witch Sudar was a core member of Frost Moon, her presence here likely had something to do with Angel.

For a moment, the atmosphere grew tense.

The snow raven… or perhaps better to say, Queenie — shook her head, “I’m not here for Angel this time. Besides, Lord Mengke has already gone to Ice Valley to confirm that the swirling rumors are true, so there’s no need to be so anxious.”

“Even though Lord Mengke has verified the truth, if you haven’t been promoted or become a member of the Research Institute, he might still resort to aggressive measures…” But now, Angel’s identity was well known, even among ordinary transcendental beings. He had undoubtedly become a core strategic figure in the Savage Grottoes. Mengke’s current plan had failed; there was no hope of him ascending to legendary realm and he remained on the same realm as Rhine Mute. Thus, he couldn’t risk offending Rhine Mute to take action against Angel.

Queenie seemed entirely indifferent to her own identity, openly revealing the crux of the matter at hand.

There were some statements that even someone at Rhine Mute’s level would hesitate to utter, fearing they might be inappropriate. Yet Queenie didn’t care in the least, speaking bluntly, making Angel feel somewhat unnerved.

“Although I didn’t specifically come for you, someone from the Frost Moon Alliance will likely seek you out — perhaps it will be Sineva or Samantha,” Queenie paused. “However, their goal in finding you shouldn’t be to oppose you. Most likely, they wish to invite you to the Frost Moon Alliance headquarters. After all, Lord Mengke promised you, in full view of everyone, the Frost Moon’s highest honor——the Blossom of Frost and Chapter of the Moon.”

“You’re not going to turn it down, are you?”

Angel didn’t respond; these were matters for the future, and he couldn’t provide an answer now. However, the way Queenie approached this made it abundantly clear that she wasn’t here on his account.

“If you’re not here for Angel, then why did you come to watch the Novastar Competition?” Gloria inquired suspiciously.

The puppet hat behind Queenie suddenly moved, its finger pointing toward the arena. “Didn’t I just mention it? Trom is from the Frost Moon Alliance. Can’t you put two and two together?”

Gloria: “So Trom is related to you?”

Queenie nodded, “That’s correct; Trom is my adorable apprentice.”

For some reason, when Queenie mentioned “adorable,” Angel felt a slight chill, involuntarily shivering.

Turning her gaze toward the fiercely fighting Trom in the arena, Gloria said sympathetically, “Poor child.”

Gloria was all too familiar with Queenie’s character; she’s a woman with a twisted sense of humor, and her so-called “care” always carries a trap-like undertone.

“Poor? I think he’s doing quite well. Under my guidance, he’s performing rather admirably, don’t you think?” Queenie seemed quite pleased with herself.

Gloria shook her head and sighed, “Now I understand why Trom’s physical strength is so formidable. If he weren’t, how could he withstand your antics?”

“Thank you for the compliment.”

Gloria: “… I didn’t compliment you.”

“I’ll take it as one, anyway.” Queenie said, unfazed. She then levitated from her cane and moved to the space between Gloria and Angel’s seats, her gaze fixated on the arena. “It’s a pity that this time, my adorable disciple is pitted against someone from the gourmet arts. Otherwise, it would have been a far more entertaining match.”

“You look down on the gourmet arts?”

“I have immense respect for the gourmet arts, it’s just that their combat capabilities…”

Gloria, aware of Queenie’s outspoken nature, wasn’t offended. “If it were any other gourmet apprentice, Trom would probably have an easy victory. But when it comes to Azaz, it’s not so certain.”

Although Gloria already harbored a killing intent toward Azaz, objectively speaking, with the aid of demonic power, Trom might not necessarily be able to hold his own.

Queenie: “The gourmet arts can produce formidable combatants? I find that hard to believe.”

As soon as Queenie’s words left her lips, they were met with a collective gasp from the surrounding spectators, who wore incredulous expressions.

Queenie turned her gaze back to the arena, only to see Trom’s entire body had flipped out of the ring. It was thanks to the antlers of the hat on his head, hooked onto the edge of the arena, that his feet hadn’t touched the ground.

Despite this, the judges, floating in mid-air, started whispering among themselves. This situation was unprecedented in the Novastar Competition, and they were deliberating whether to declare Trom as the loser.

Queenie’s eyes widened: “What just happened?”

Queenie seemed surprised by the prior turn of events, but Angel noticed that her astonishment was tinged with a shade of delight.

Why is she pleased when her own disciple is about to lose?

“Azaz seized an opportunity, using a gourmet trick called ‘Stench Bomb’ to catch Trom off guard. Although the ‘Stench Bomb’ lasted only for a moment, Trom lost control in that instant. Azaz drew upon the power of demons with his right hand, and with just one punch, sent Trom flying,” Gloria spoke, her gaze somewhat dark. Though she was answering Queenie’s question, the aura that Azaz emitted when unleashing demonic power caught her attention.

That aura didn’t seem to belong to an ordinary low-level demon.

What exactly is the demon Azaz has summoned?

Angel also fell into contemplation; he too had sensed the aura embedded in the demonic power and felt a strange sense of déjà vu.

“Demonic power?” Queenie turned her head, “How did a gourmet wizard come by demonic power?”

The act of summoning demons is known to very few in the Southern Region, and Queenie was clearly among the uninformed.

“He exchanged it for gourmet delights,” Gloria answered briefly without revealing the full truth.

“A power similar to that of Sin Lady?” Sunisha’s power had been inherited from Sin Lady, a gourmet witch who also summoned spirits through food.

Gloria nodded.

Queenie suddenly understood, “I see, with such power at his disposal, no wonder you hold this Demon Gourmet wizard in such high regard.”

While they were talking, the judges, after some deliberation, gave no indication that the competition was over, implying that Trom could still continue to battle against Azaz.

The audience also breathed a sigh of relief. After all, this semi-final had finally produced an intense battle, and it would be a shame if it ended so abruptly.

Finally, Trom climbed up from the edge of the ring.

When everyone’s gaze turned toward Trom, a sense of shock and dread flickered in their eyes.

What they saw was that Trom’s clothing had been completely shredded, exposing his skin underneath. Most shocking was the terrifying injury on his chest: an indented fist imprint. Even more unsettling, right beside the fist imprint was a black, tinged with red, fireburn.

The ghastly and terrifying burn mark, juxtaposed against Trom’s naturally fair skin, created a visually horrifying effect.

“This fire contains demonic power. Could it be that the demon Azaz is sacrificing controls fire?” Gloria whispered softly, “There are various fire-manipulating demons; which one could it be?”

“A Fire Servant Demon? A Firestarter Demon? Or perhaps a Fire Demon? A mature Fire Demon is a mid-level demon with the power of true knowledge. Would a mortal wizard even be able to summon such a being?” Gloria pondered with uncertainty.

Just then, Angel interjected, “It’s a Rune Fire Demon.”

“A Rune Fire Demon? Are you certain?” Gloria quickly turned her head to ask.

Angel nodded, “I know a Rune Fire Demon, but he’s still in his infancy, more of a fledgling Fire Demon. However, the essence of their fiery power is exactly the same.”

Angel didn’t say he had “seen” a Rune Fire Demon; he said he “knew” one. Both Queenie and Gloria took note of this subtle detail. But Gloria didn’t press for more at this moment. Instead, she mumbled to herself, “How could this be? How could a Rune Fire Demon be the offering subject of a gourmet wizard apprentice?”

The Fire Demons she had earlier dismissed are generally known as ‘The Path of Flame.’

However, Rune Fire Demons are known in the Abyss as ‘The Nobles of Flame.’

And indeed, they are the aristocrats of fire, not just among fire-manipulating demons, but even within the entire demonic populace.

It’s worth mentioning that in the Abyss, there have even been Rune Fire Demon Lords before.

Could such a noble demon really be reduced to becoming an offering subject for a gourmet wizard? Gloria was somewhat incredulous.

But it’s also unlikely that Angel would lie.

So, what exactly has gone wrong here?
