Wilderness of Dreams, Sinful Monster Laboratory.

Angel took a glance at Freud’s progress on the research of the Sinful Monsters. In just these few days, the study had already advanced to the 13th test subject. The rate of progress was astonishingly fast.

Presently, Number 13 had also entered into the arena of combat spell research, engaging in battles with Tulas.

The experiments were in full swing. Sensing that there was no immediate need for his expertise, Angel returned to the upper level of the laboratory. He began perusing the recent report that Freud had penned.

The report was a comprehensive summary of the first twelve Sinful Monsters and the challenges encountered during the course of research.

Freud had been a seasoned apprentice in the Wizarding World for a long time. When it came to subject matter expertise and record-keeping, one could say he was even more proficient than Angel. Angel couldn’t help but nod in agreement as he read through the report.

Half an hour later, Angel set the report aside. Based on its content, it appeared that the Sinful Monster Laboratory was now in a state where it could be comfortably left in Freud’s capable hands. The meticulousness with which he conducted the experiments was nothing short of impressive.

The only areas still requiring Angel’s assistance were the capture and suppression of the Sinful Monsters.

However, those were problems that could be resolved in due course.

As Angel was deep in thought, a knock on the door interrupted his reverie.

“Come in,” said Angel. As his words faded, the door swung open, and Freud, dressed in a white research robe, walked in.

“I was just thinking of you, and here you are,” Angel gestured for Freud to sit down. “How is the experiment with Number 13 going?”

Freud nodded, “It’s completed. Number 13 has the rather unique ability to attack opponents using sound. However, the downside is, based on the current batch of candidates from the demon-hunting team’s initial selection, no one seems to be compatible with Number 13 as of yet.”

“Are there any suitable Sinful Monsters aside from number 13?” Angel pointed to the report on the table.

Freud: “Yes, among them are seven types of Sinful Monsters that solely enhance their own attributes, focusing on aspects like speed, defense, and strength. As long as the will of the residents of the Dream Realm meets the requirements, a bond can be formed.”

In simple terms, Sinful Monsters possessing unique spells are not easily compatible with hosts. However, those aimed at self-enhancement are relatively easier to form bonds with.

Of course, this so-called ‘compatibility’ is just a conceptual idea. Even with Sinful Monsters that have special spells, anyone can integrate with them. However, it’s difficult to fully leverage the Sinful Monster’s powers if they are not in line with one’s innate attributes.

Angel: “If more than half of the Sinful Monsters can be integrated, that’s not too bad. Once the Demon Hunting squad is fully established, it should form a substantial force.”

Freud: “Indeed. However, our experiments are still somewhat lacking.”

“Lacking data on the Demon Hunters?” Angel had already sensed this after reading the report. The report is comprehensive, but it only established a profile for the Sinful Monsters; there was not a single word about the other system’s Demon Hunters.

“Yes. Even though we’ve researched up to Sinful Monster Number 13, there has yet to be the birth of a Demon Hunter who has integrated with a Sinful Monster, making it impossible to record any data on the Demon Hunters. In essence, these reports are just scratching the surface; they lack a soul.”

All of their preliminary experiments were geared toward understanding the conditions after a Sinful Monster integrates into a host. Can a Demon Hunter control the level of the Sinful Monster’s release? Can a database be established that encapsulates the compatibility between a Demon Hunter and a Sinful Monster? Can a Demon Hunter and a Sinful Monster maintain a long-term symbiotic relationship?… These and other questions require answers from the Demon Hunters.

“I understand. It’s indeed time for the Demon Hunters to make their appearance,” Angel nodded. “What are your plans for the integration, and who do you plan to let integrate?”

“Knight Sabel and Sinful Monster Number 7.”

Sinful Monster Number 7 is the same gigantic disk covered in tentacles that Angel assisted in testing last time. When its mouth opens, it reveals countless fangs, and from a distance, it resembles a bizarre chrysanthemum-like creature.

This Sinful Monster has an unsightly appearance, to say the least. However, it must be said that its combat style harmonizes remarkably well with that of Knight Sabel.

Sabel typically employs a defensive strategy, waiting to counter-attack, while Sinful Monster Number 7, having augmented defenses, can also retaliate through its tentacles. After their integration, Sabel is likely to become the foremost human shield in Initial Heart City. Moreover, Sabel will be a formidable human shield warrior. Angel, having conducted firsthand tests, is well aware of how powerful the tentacles of Sinful Monster Number 7 are.

“What are Knight Sabel’s thoughts on this?” Angel believes this arrangement is reasonable. However, the grotesque form of Sinful Monster Number 7 could potentially inflict psychological damage on people. Its ugliness has already reached a pinnacle. Will Sabel willingly fuse with it? After all, when fighting as Demon Hunters in the future, their appearance will undoubtedly undergo changes depending on the Sinful Monster they integrate with.

“Knight Sabel has already agreed,” Freud says, visibly relieved. Thankfully, Sabel is not a person concerned about appearances.

“Alright then, let’s proceed to seal Sinful Monster Number 7 into Knight Sabel’s body later.”

After completing the Demon Hunter arrangements, Angel discusses recent experimental developments with Freud, particularly focusing on the matter of Labu. Labu is, after all, currently——the only person capable of inheriting the Sin Fog powers.

According to Freud, Labu has already been transferred to the Sinful Monster laboratory.

He has become knowledgeable about certain aspects of Sinful Monsters and is presently working as a research assistant alongside Freud.

“In your interactions thus far, do you think Labu is qualified to assume the powers of Sin Fog?” Angel inquires.

After carefully considering the question, Freud nods, “He should be. Based on my observations, Labu’s character is unproblematic, and he is an individual possessing a strong sense of responsibility.”

“As for the potential impact that the Sin Fog could have on the citizens of Initial Heart City, his level of concern probably parallels that of Marilyn.”

Marilyn is the Lord of Initial Heart City, naturally deeply concerned that the Sin Fog could bring harm to the city. However, Labu is currently just an ordinary resident of the Dream Realm, and the fact that his level of concern rivals Marilyn’s is quite intriguing.

“Why is that?” Angel curiously inquired.

“Because for him, Initial Heart City is essentially a utopia he has dreamt of. Moreover, people he cares about are here.”

What Labu cares about the most, naturally, is his younger brother, Lado.

He hopes to go to great lengths to provide Lado with a favorable living environment. Initial Heart City is the place he has long yearned for; Labu certainly doesn’t want any external forces to wreak havoc on it.

Because the heart is full of lingering concerns, immense power can erupt at the edge of a precipice.

Freud: “From any angle you look at it, Labu is rather suitable for the power granted by Sin Fog. However, he has just recently come into contact with the Sin Monster and is still emotionally unstable. Perhaps further observation is needed.”

Angel had already decided to bestow the Sin Fog power onto Labu, but given Freud’s words, he figured that playing a laissez-faire leader would require a little more time to fully come to fruition.

After finishing their discussion, Freud prepared to leave to notify Knight Sabel about initiating the integration preparations.

Just before Freud’s departure, Angel suddenly remembered something.

“By the way, you’ve spent a considerable amount of time in the Wizarding World. Do you have any insights on Paradova?”
