“Yes,” Glen nodded, “Lord Pat has come out of his seclusion.”
Upon hearing Glen’s response, Coral abruptly turned to look at Alan, her eyes filled with a questioning intensity.
Alan quickly gestured with his hands, “When I arrived at the estate, Lord Pat was truly still in the laboratory and had not emerged.”
Glen was unaware of the nuances behind the situation. Hearing Coral and Alan’s exchange, he casually remarked, “Did Alan visit Lord Pat? When was this… ah, two hours ago? Indeed, at that time, Lord Pat had not yet come out. He emerged just half an hour ago.”
Half an hour ago, Angel, upon exiting his seclusion, immediately headed to Infinite Battle Tower, delivering custom alchemy for Onassis and Hilary to Melanctha. Upon hearing the news, Glen took the initiative to handle the custom order meant for Hilary. He remembered that Angel and Hilary had a profound connection and thought that he might be able to earn some favor from Angel’s friends through this gesture.
Upon hearing this far, Coral understood that Alan’s timing in approaching was just slightly off.
She quickly checked the time. According to what Nausica said earlier, she had less than five minutes before she would be teleported away. Even if she wanted to find Angel now, it would probably be too late.
“If we had Alan wait at the estate, he might have been able to meet him,” Coral’s expression showed her regret.
Hilary also sighed with a hint of disappointment, “Just missed by a hair’s breadth, nothing can be done about it.”
Listening to Coral and Hilary, Glen was a bit puzzled. Handing over a one-time spatial capsule to Hilary, he couldn’t help but inquire, “What are you both talking about? What was missed?”
Hilary didn’t answer, but Alan, standing next to him, explained the situation.
Upon hearing Alan’s words, Glen had an epiphany, “Ah, so that’s what happened. I think you both shouldn’t feel too regretful. Maybe Lord Pat didn’t miss the opportunity after all.”
“Didn’t miss the opportunity?” Coral looked at Glen with confusion.
“Do you all not wonder why Lord Pat came out at such a coincidental time? Besides, he already knew that Nausica was going to leave, didn’t he? With his spell, could he have possibly missed?”
Doubt flashed in Coral’s eyes, “That’s true, but he indeed didn’t come…”
Glen replied, “Earlier, Lord Pat visited Infinite Battle Tower. After delivering Onassis’s order, he left. I remember Lady Melanctha saying he seemed to have headed in the direction of the teleportation hall.”
…
Sky Mechanical City, Teleportation Hall.
“Unexpectedly, you came. How did you know I was leaving today?” Nausica stood at the entrance of the teleportation hall. A cloud happened to drift by, enveloping her as if she was standing amidst the mists, curiously looking at the person opposite her.
Wearing a long black coat with red runes, his hat was tilted low, revealing strands of golden hair swaying mischievously in the gradually chilling autumn wind.
Angel adjusted a strand of hair that the wind had tousled, “Just a little trick.”
“Could it be that you placed a Wizard’s Eye near the Bliss Pavilion?” inquired Nausica.
Without admitting or denying, Angel replied, “Once you become a formal wizard, you’ll understand the little trick.”
“A formal wizard… that seems a bit far off.” Nausica appeared to sigh deeply, but her expression didn’t show any signs of discouragement. Instead, her eyes sparkled with anticipation and hope for the future.
“Is there any danger in the place you and Reynolds are going to?” Angel glanced into the distance, where Reynolds was curiously peering in their direction.
“Undoubtedly, there’s a risk,” Nausica raised an eyebrow, “You’re not going to dissuade me like Coral did, are you?”
“No. Both of us understand the reasons, and moreover, I believe you see things even more clearly than I do,” Angel replied with a faint smile. When Nausica makes a decision, it’s certainly after meticulous consideration.
She has chosen this path and must be aware of the possible outcomes, whether they’re good or bad. Regardless, she’s determined to proceed, and there must be compelling reasons for her choice. Angel wouldn’t interfere with her decisions.
“It’s always more relaxing talking to you,” Nausica leaned against a wall, her long hair being tousled by the wind. She looked into the clear sky, following the direction of the wind, whispering, “The place I’m headed to has something I need. That’s why I have to go.”
“Is it crucial to you?”
“Extremely. It’s the first step toward my ultimate dream.”
“I wish you all the best in achieving it.”
“Aren’t you curious about what I desire?”
Angel chuckled, “I asked before, didn’t you not want to answer? Are you ready to share now?”
Flipping her wind-tousled hair and with a sly glint in her enchanting eyes, Nausica replied, “Still not ready to share. When I return, you’ll know.”
With that, Nausica stood up, “It’s about time. I have to go.”
Angel nodded without uttering any parting words. Instead, he casually took out an interstitial capsule from his pocket and handed it to Nausica, “Take this with you.”
“What is this?” Nausica, puzzled, took it and checked with her mental sense, “A monocle? Could it be some sort of secret weapon?”
Angel shook his head, “It’s not a weapon, and it won’t be of much help when you’re in danger. However, if you ever need to notify me, you can use this.”
“So, it’s a communicator?”
“You can think of it that way, but it can only be used once. I hope you’ll use it with caution.”
Nausica nodded, “Even though I don’t think I’ll have the chance to use it, thank you.”
…
After seeing Nausica off, Angel turned his gaze to the northwest. That direction was precisely where Champagne Road was located.
Meanwhile, inside a room at the Woodrow Bar on Champagne Road, a refined middle-aged man looked up.
The elegant lady seated across him asked, “Wizard Woodrow, what’s the matter?”
The man known as Wizard Woodrow, the actual owner behind the Woodrow Bar, replied, “Nothing really, just a friend retrieving an item they’d left here.”
As his words faded, deep within the Woodrow Bar, just outside the Bliss Pavilion, a small orb resting in a stone crevice slowly unfurled its transparent wings and gently ascended into the sky.
Had there been any alchemists present, they would have instantly recognized the orb as a scouting puppet.
This was Angel’s scouting puppet placed outside the Bliss Pavilion, the very reason he knew precisely when Nausica had left.
Indeed, after Angel advanced to the realm of wizard, even within the mansion, he could use his mental power to lock onto the Bliss Pavilion. However, doing so would be too energy-consuming. Given that Sky Mechanical City was teeming with Magic Eyes and law enforcement teams, Angel chose to use the scouting puppet to avoid conflicts.
A scouting puppet only requires a minimal amount of mental energy to maintain its search range. However, a scouting puppet typically can’t stray too far from its controller. The reason Angel could control it from a great distance is due to his formal wizard realm.
Hence, he informed Nausica that this was a small trick only formal wizards could employ, and he wasn’t wrong in saying so.
Of course, the owner of the Woodrow bar would undoubtedly detect such a scouting puppet, which is why Angel had previously notified the Woodrow wizard.
Since Nausica had already left, Angel was also ready to retrieve the scouting puppet.
Angel maneuvered the scouting puppet to fly higher. As he was about to direct the puppet to fly towards him, he caught a glimpse from the sky of the situation within the yard of the Bliss Pavilion.
