In the Puppet Theatre, an almost sacred stillness prevails. The only sounds piercing the silence are the soft crackles of candles burning and the steps of Labu as he ascends the altar.

Upon reaching the pinnacle of the altar, Labu exhales deeply, then turns to gaze upon Freud.

Freud responds with a subtle nod. This silent encouragement seems to imbue Labu with courage, reminiscent of a devout knight, as he kneels at the central podium of the altar.

Everyone waits in anticipation, yearning for a miracle.

Yet, nothing remarkable ensues. Only a faint beam of light filters down from a slit in the theater’s ceiling, illuminating Labu’s crown.

Onlookers find it challenging to discern whether this beam, revealing the dust dancing in the air, is sunlight or a benediction from the World Will.

As confusion ripples through the crowd, Labu’s eyes suddenly bulge, staring straight ahead as if witnessing something unfathomable.

Yet, others see nothing. Some even quietly suspect Labu might be putting on an act… But just as such thoughts cross their minds, an overpowering aura abruptly descends.

None had ever experienced this aura: it’s immense, majestic, and boundless… brimming with both divinity and oppression. Unable to fathom its nature, they’re compelled to kneel involuntarily.

Under this profound aura, everyone feels their insignificance, akin to a speck of dust caught in the wind.

Notably, Knight Sabel is overwhelmed. Not only does he feel diminished, but the Sin Demon inside him seems so humbled it might vanish from his very being.

“Is this the manifestation of the World Will?” Even though they can’t visibly perceive anything, it doesn’t stop them from internally speculating.

Within the entirety of the Puppet Theatre, the sole individual able to perceive unfolding events was the very participant at its center——Labu.

From Labu’s perspective, he didn’t discern any manifestation of the World Will. Instead, he gazed upon an inky void, and deep within it, a faint silhouette was evident.

It resembled a tree.

Despite its considerable distance, Labu inexplicably felt that it was a towering, magnificent tree.

Upon this tree, it seemed as if something was beckoning Labu.

Labu yearned to approach, to seek out what was summoning him from the colossal tree. However, his legs felt as though they were shackled, rendering him immobile. As desperation gripped Labu’s heart, he noticed the tree gradually fading into the depths of the void. Yet, the sensation of being summoned persisted, growing ever nearer and louder, even harmonizing with his own heartbeat.

As if it was drawing nearer to him.

What could this entity be? As Labu pondered in confusion, a dim point of light streaked through the void, positioning itself before him.

As Labu observed the light hovering before his eyes, he hesitated briefly but eventually extended his hand, attempting to grasp it.

Yet, the moment Labu stirred, the speck of light darted away, reminiscent of a shooting star. It painted a breathtaking luminous trail, directly plunging into Labu’s forehead.

Upon the light’s entry into Labu’s brow, initially, he perceived no anomaly. However, in a fleeting moment, a myriad of visions transformed into a raging torrent, flooding and overwhelming Labu’s thoughts.

Labu felt an unprecedented, intense agony, as if his skull was on the brink of explosion.

However, fortunately, in the very next instant, Labu’s vision plunged into darkness. His body limply fell upon the altar, succumbing entirely to unconsciousness…

The inheritance ceremony formally concluded during the time Labu was unconscious.

That overwhelming aura also vanished subsequently. Everyone rose from their kneeling positions, gazing at Labu who lay on the altar, their expressions filled with mixed emotions.

……

To outsiders, this ceremony full of ritualistic ambiance might seem like a grand inheritance. However, for Angel, it was merely a gentle sway of the branches of the Power Tree.

After the ceremony, Angel checked and found that Labu had indeed acquired the Sin Fog Power. However, he is currently in the integration phase. Once fully integrated, Labu will come to understand some functionalities of the Sin Fog.

However, a slight pity is that after Angel’s careful inspection, although Labu has gained the power, his compatibility isn’t a perfect match. He still can’t fully inherit the Sin Fog Power.

There are certain functionalities that Labu hasn’t acquired or, more accurately, has acquired incompletely. Specific details on this will have to wait until Labu awakens.

Labu remained unconscious for a significant portion of the day, only stirring faintly around four in the afternoon.

Upon waking, Labu seemed to be in a state of chaos, as if he was still comprehending the newfound knowledge and information in his mind. Even when surrounded by the curious inquiries of those around him, Labu remained in a daze.

This condition persisted until dusk. Only then did Labu feel the overload in his thoughts easing, granting him the energy to contemplate other matters.

Faced with the queries of the people around him, Labu paused for a moment and then briefly narrated his recent experiences.

The process of Labu’s integration involved pain and dizziness, but not much else of substance. The primary concern of everyone was to understand the exact nature of the power Labu had acquired.

Regarding this, Labu himself was quite perplexed. Even though he had indeed gained some powers, it was still in the theoretical stage, and the actual effects remained unknown.

Consequently, without a moment’s delay, the researchers promptly brought Labu back to the Sinful Monster Laboratory, intending to undertake an in-depth analysis of his powers.

Angel took a brief look but did not pursue further. This was because when Labu awakened, Angel had already sensed that Labu possessed the power of “suppressing sinful monsters”.

To suppress these monsters is the most useful to the Demon Hunters Team and is the power Angel values most.

Such a skill is at the heart of the birth of a demon hunter. It is closely related to both the birth and healing of a demon hunter.

Having this power, Angel can also let go of overseeing the Sinful Monster Laboratory entirely. Thus, no other powers matter as long as one possesses this skill.

While Angel did not care much about Labu’s powers, Freud, on the other hand, took great interest in the powers that Labu acquired.

With the research of the Sinful Monster Laboratory, Labu’s powers were progressively unveiled.

Besides suppressing sinful monsters, Labu also has the power to sense the Sin Fog. He can perceive the general direction of where the Sin Fog originates, although he cannot discern its exact location. This power is mediocre but can serve as an early warning to prevent the Sin Fog from reaching Initial Heart City.

Moreover, Labu has the “control over sinful monsters” power. He can move freely within the Sin Fog and has mastery over some sinful monsters. This skill is highly beneficial to the Demon Hunters Team. Labu can enter the Sin Fog, capture appropriate sinful monsters, and integrate them with demon hunters.

Regrettably, Labu’s power in this area is not considered strong. When confronted with powerful sinful monsters, he still requires the cooperation of demon hunters to effectively capture and control them. Furthermore, once a sinful monster merges with a person, he can only suppress it, unable to expel the monster from within that individual.

Currently, these are the only three known powers. They are still far from the complete power of the Sin Fog, but for the Demon Hunters Team and the Sinful Monster Laboratory, these three powers are already formidable.

Moreover, with these three skills in hand, the previously prepared members of the Demon Hunters Team can finally begin the fusion with the sinful monsters…
