Above the communicator, as thin as a cicada’s wing, a pale blue silhouette of a person slowly materialized.

“Good evening, Lord Pat,” greeted the apparition in a voice as elegant as ever, reminiscent of a butler from a traditional aristocratic family.

“Antonio,” Angel responded without beating around the bush, “There’s something I need to inquire about.”

There were two things he wanted to clarify. First, he wanted to know the current whereabouts of “Mechanical Beast King” Rosen and the situation regarding Director Muse.

Since Angel intended to inform the higher-ups of Sky Mechanical City about the Bud’s situation, he naturally thought of the two city lords, Rosen and Muse. He had a slightly better rapport with Muse. After all, compared to the cold and aloof Rosen, Angel and Muse were better acquainted.

Regrettably, according to Antonio, Muse was currently in seclusion and had shut off all external communications. To contact him, one would have to forcefully enter the Creation Hall.

However, the Creation Hall was filled with intricate traps. Unless one had exceptional skills or possessed exceptional power, like Lord Rosen, the consequences of a forced entry would be dire.

Given that Director Muse was in seclusion, Angel had no choice but to seek out Rosen.

Upon learning from Antonio that Rosen was currently at Infinite Battle Tower, Angel promptly changed his direction of flight, heading towards the towering spire that pierced the clouds in the distance.

On his way, Angel remained in contact with Antonio as he had another matter he wanted to confirm.

“Where exactly was Sky Mechanical City located half a month ago?” Angel inquired.

Antonio didn’t understand Angel’s urgency in finding Rosen or why he would ask such an odd question. However, seeing Angel’s serious demeanor, he responded without hesitation.

Antonio pondered for a moment, “If we’re speaking about half a month ago, it should be near the town of Chennai on the peninsula.”

“Is Chennai Town far from the North Sea?”

“Chennai Town is a port town, situated right on the lengthy coast of the North Sea.”

Upon hearing Antonio’s answer, Angel’s eyes flashed with realization, “Then the distance from Chennai Town to… Paradova, shouldn’t be far either?”

Antonio nodded, “Not far. Chennai Town is one of the towns bordering Paradova. The main city district of Paradova should be around four hundred kilometers away.”

Angel closed his eyes, murmuring softly, “I thought as much.”

“Lord Pat, is there a challenge you need assistance with?” Antonio, being the guardian spirit of the Research Institute, bore the responsibility of alleviating the concerns of the institute members.

“There is indeed a matter, but I’m currently at Infinite Battle Tower. I’ll inform you when the time is right, or perhaps you could inquire with Rosen later.” After saying this, Angel wished Antonio a good night and promptly turned off the communication device.

Once the device was off, a contemplative look took hold in Angel’s eyes.

Previously, Helen mentioned that they encountered a strange group of individuals about three hundred miles north of Sky Mechanical City. Based on the location Antonio just provided and doing some quick calculations, one could deduce they were near Paradova, less than two hundred miles away, when they had the encounter.

Angel didn’t believe in Such a Coincidence.

This group was definitely linked to the followers of the Bud in the old district of Paradova. Just as Angel had suspected, they might very well be the root cause of the Bud’s emergence in Paradova!

“I hope they are the first wave,” he mused. If so, dealing with them could cut off the source of the Bud faith. However, if they weren’t the first, the repercussions could be unimaginable.

Angel soared to the top level of Infinite Battle Tower, piercing through the thin wisps of the stratosphere. From this vantage point, the entirety of Sky Mechanical City sprawled below him, its imposing grandeur unmistakable, resembling a colossal steel beast that sprawled across the heavens.

This was Angel’s first time ascending so high within Infinite Battle Tower. He circled twice and found no welcoming platforms in sight. As he pondered how to contact Lord Rosen, a door materialized out of the bluish-gray wall. As the door opened, a woman dressed professionally emerged, leaning against the doorframe.

“Super Dimensional Wizard, good evening,” greeted the woman. She had her hair tied up neatly, wore glasses, and was dressed in a sleek black uniform. At first glance, she seemed aloof and reserved, but her outfit accentuated her graceful figure, adding an unconventional allure to her.

“Melanctha,” Angel softly uttered her name, recognizing her as Rosen’s daughter and one of the high-ranking officials of Infinite Battle Tower.

Melanctha flashed a faint smile, “Come in, the Lord is expecting you.”

Angel hesitated for a moment, gauging from Melanctha’s tone, it seemed Rosen might already be aware of something.

With a head full of questions, Angel entered. The door vanished behind them, revealing a deep, dimly lit corridor.

“Follow me,” Melanctha motioned for Angel to keep pace with her.

As they proceeded, Angel voiced his burning question, “How did Rosen know I would come seeking him?”

Melanctha replied, “Antonio already conveyed your intentions to seek the Lord; we received the message. Besides, I believe the Super Dimensional Wizard would naturally seek out the Lord. After all…”

She paused, turning her head to shoot a deep, pool-like gaze at Angel, “… after all, you owe an explanation about the happenings in the void, don’t you?”

She was, of course, referring to Toby’s advancement.

Angel merely nodded in acknowledgment, initially suspecting Rosen might be privy to something more. But now, it seemed the Lord was yet to be apprised of the matters concerning the Bud.

Throughout the journey that followed, Melanctha remained silent. It wasn’t until they neared the central office that she spoke up in a soft voice, “Can I ask a question? I’m genuinely curious about that fleeting aura during the daytime — what realm was it? Was it truly… legendary?”

Angel responded, “Whether it was or wasn’t isn’t what matters. Either way, it’s gone now.”

Angel’s words were as good as no answer at all. A hint of regret appeared on Melanctha’s face. She wanted to press further, but they had arrived at Rosen’s office. She had no choice but to stay silent.

Before Melanctha could knock, the steel door swung open on its own.

From within, an incredibly cold and metallic voice echoed, “Come in.”

As Melanctha motioned towards the interior, preparing to enter with Angel, the voice from inside spoke again, “Melanctha, you step out. I want to speak with Angel.”

A mysterious glint flashed in Melanctha’s eyes. Without arguing, she nodded, turned around, and gracefully closed the door behind her.

Angel surveyed his surroundings. He stood in a hall entirely forged from metal, its walls adorned with shimmering mysterious runes.

In the center of the hall was a long metallic table, seemingly used for experiments.

Behind this table floated over ten large screens, each displaying shifting images.

At that moment, a tall figure stood with his back to Angel, silently observing the various screens.

He was one of the two great rulers of Sky Mechanical City — the Beast King, Rosen!
