A Tea Party hosted by——’Rose Crown’ Liana?

Angel paused momentarily, a memory surfacing. He had indeed heard from Davey before that Liana was planning to host a tea party.

And it was a grand tea party at that.

At first blush, a tea party might sound like a simple gathering of witches, congregating to sip tea and engage in idle chit-chat. In reality… that’s precisely what it is.

However, the status of these tea parties within the Wizarding World of the Southern Region is not to be underestimated. In fact, when taking into consideration various major wizard organizations, a tea party holds more significance than even the Novastar Competition, rivalling the Star Observing Day of the Crown Star Church.

At these tea parties, the majority of witches from wizard organizations in the Southern Region come together. Using the gathering as a front, they exchange information.

Women, by nature, tend to have a heightened sensitivity and ability to capture information, often surpassing that of their male counterparts. Witches, in turn, haven’t abandoned this innate talent engraved deep within their marrow. The exchanges, or perhaps “gossips”, they partake in during these tea parties often unearth some incredibly secretive news.

For instance, the underground ruins discovered in Winsbills, the Joyful Labyrinth of King Sherman, and the Demon Sage hidden within the Roman Mountains were all deduced from discussions and inferences made during these tea parties.

One could say the tea party acts as a massive information exchange chat room.

Beyond being a mere chat room, some witches use the tea party as a platform for comparison, as a perfume shop, an information exchange, a therapeutic shop, or even a wizard market. After all, with so many witches gathering, maximizing the opportunity becomes a primary consideration.

Of course, the tea party isn’t without its pitfalls. There are those with ulterior motives who deliberately instigate, amplify, and disseminate either false or half-true rumors.

When a few lips spread a rumor, it’s hard enough to debunk. But when countless mouths prattle on, these whispers can morph into a formidable force.

Angel had once heard a rumor: A devoted wizard, who deeply loved his partner they grew up with, had rejected the advances of a dark witch. In a fit of spite, during a tea party, this witch portrayed the devoted wizard as a fickle and superficial individual, using various methods to spread false accusations about him. Even though many witches at the tea party verified that she was lying, no bystander bothered to clarify the truth. In fact, most of them enjoyed the drama, even adding fuel to the fire.

As a result, many who were unaware of the real story believed the false rumors. The rumors spread far and wide, and due to the false stories, the devoted wizard’s partner eventually left the Southern Region on her own. It’s said that the devoted wizard, even today, is still waiting alone.

Beyond this, many other rumors have originated from tea parties. The Song of the Deep Sea’s Nereus was rumored to have abnormal relationships with some sea creatures, like dolphins… This too was exaggerated during a tea party.

Of course, now the majority knows that what was said about Nereus might be just a rumor. However, the very fact that they can harm Nereus’s reputation with this rumor is enough for them.

So, even in the Wizarding World where truth-detection spells are deeply researched and practiced, rumors can never be fully eradicated. Some people are oblivious, while others who know the truth pretend to be ignorant.

Although tea parties do carry such negative connotations, they are still a vital medium for information exchange.

For this reason, various wizard organizations and wizard families are always eager to host tea parties.

The location of the tea party usually depends on who the host is. For instance, the next tea party is to be hosted by Liana, so naturally, the event will take place in the Savage Grottoes.

Realizing this, Angel understood why Sanye Witch said earlier that “they would meet again soon.” Once the tea party is officially underway, the Savage Grottoes would surely be opened to a limited extent to the attending witches, and by then, Sanye Witch would have a chance to meet him.

“I see,” Angel looked at Sanye Witch, pausing briefly before saying, “We’ll just have to wait and see then.”

Sanye Witch donned a smile, remarking, “There will be many items up for trade at the tea party. If the Super Dimensional Wizard takes a liking to any of them, I’ll make every effort to acquire it, as long as it can be exchanged for the Rhythm of the Ocean.”

Her implication was clear: even if Angel wasn’t satisfied with her offered price and desired something from the tea party, she would find a way to procure it to use in a trade with him.

Angel cast Sanye Witch a profound glance, nodding in a non-committal manner before turning and ascending the stairs.

Watching as Angel’s figure gradually vanished from sight, a determined glint flashed in Sanye Witch’s eyes. She then turned her gaze to Gloria on the other side, saying, “Let’s go. The mini tea party centered around the Drama Shadow Box is about to start. After attending the tea party, we can also drop by that… what did you call it again…?”

“Magic show,” Gloria reminded.

“Right, we can drop by Shirley’s magic show for a look.”

As the two women conversed, they departed from the main hall, soaring towards the central city area.

Walking along the second-floor corridor, Angel sensed the fading presence of Gloria and Sanye Witch within the manor, and he let out a soft sigh.

Despite his non-committal response to Sanye Witch’s proposal, deep down, he never really had any intention of making a trade.

Pondering, Angel reckoned that during the period Liana was hosting the tea party, it would be best for him to find an excuse to leave the Savage Grottoes, avoiding any encounter with Sanye Witch.

With some time still remaining before the tea party, Angel shook his head, momentarily setting these matters aside and focusing on his impending departure.

Subsequently, Angel sought out Sanders in the study to discuss his exit itinerary. As Sanders had some matters to discuss with Horus, they needed to reserve roughly ten more hours. They eventually agreed to depart the following afternoon.

Angel took the opportunity before leaving to bid farewell to his friends.

……

As dusk approached, Angel lifted his head from his desk where he had been fervently writing. The dim light from the lantern illuminated the parchment in front of him. It displayed a draft sketch that was yet to be completed. Below the sketch were various patterns and symbols, each imbued with a mysterious power.

Beside the draft sketch, three creatures were depicted: a small seabird, a Griffin, and a Serpent-Bird.

Angel’s intention was to design a piece of alchemy equipment for Toby that could be universally used. It was meant as a gift for Toby’s advancement.

Toby’s offensive abilities were already formidable and had their own unique system. For Angel to design any weapon would seem redundant and superfluous. As for defensive tools, the Serpent-Bird’s own scale armor was a natural defense, and it did not hinder Toby’s speed. Thus, there was no need to specifically craft defensive equipment.

After careful consideration, the alchemical gear that Angel was preparing to design leaned more towards amplifying Toby’s energy attributes.

However, designing something that could accommodate three forms simultaneously was not a simple task.

To solve the problem of form transformation, many more factors would have to be considered.

While it couldn’t be achieved immediately, Angel was not prepared to give up so easily. After all, a more powerful Toby could, to some extent, provide aid for Angel himself.
