Through the window of the carriage, one could see a middle-aged man, draped in an elaborate robe adorned with runes. He stood silently beneath the tree-shaped emblem symbolizing the Savage Grottoes.

His name is Horus.

Gloria, being closest to the carriage door, was the first to open it and disembark.

As Angel exited the carriage, he faintly heard Gloria murmuring under her breath, “He’s still the same, cold as the chilliest eternal night.”

Angel was momentarily taken aback before realizing Gloria was referring to Horus.

Horus, titled the “Cold Winter Sovereign,” by his name alone, it’s clear that he’s a wizard specializing in ice magic.

“With him in a room, I bet you wouldn’t even need any ice spells. You could freeze mermaid sashimi slices directly and keep them fresh for twelve hours,” Gloria whispered sarcastically, though she dared not say it openly. She only dared to murmur it into Angel’s ear because she saw Horus conversing with Sanders.

Horus’s power is indeed formidable. Any elemental aura on him is completely bound, ensuring no leakage. Gloria’s description was merely an exaggeration.

After exchanging a few words with Sanders, Horus shifted his gaze towards them.

Upon meeting Horus’s gaze, Gloria felt a chilling sensation creep down her spine. Fortunately, Horus didn’t linger on her but immediately set his eyes on Angel.

The look Horus gave Angel still retained that indescribable coldness. Coupled with his emotionless heterochromatic eyes, he seemed even more distant and indifferent. However, if one were to observe closely, his gaze towards Angel was noticeably softer than the one he gave Gloria. But only those close to him would likely discern any emotional fluctuations in Horus’s demeanor.

Turning to Angel, Horus spoke in a detached tone, “Lord Rhine Mute is pleased that you’ve chosen to return now. He seems to have a task that requires your assistance.”

Angel remarked, “Once I return, High Cloud Tower will be my first stop.”

Horus gave a slight nod. Perhaps he was naturally reticent, for he avoided any further pleasantries and stated directly, “Let’s go. The materials for the planar passage are ready.”

Horus began to head towards their destination, and the rest promptly followed.

However, halfway there, both Horus and Sanders suddenly stopped in their tracks.

Before Angel and Gloria could comprehend the situation, a chilling aura emanated from Horus. This chill grew so intense that it turned into a dense white mist.

In the blink of an eye, a thick dome of ice enveloped the group.

The fierce sunlight shone on the transparent dome, casting brilliant, shimmering light patterns, giving those inside the feeling of being submerged in the shallow depths of the sea.

“What’s going on?” Gloria inquired, her voice laced with confusion.

Horus didn’t respond. Instead, after creating the dome, he instantaneously appeared next to Angel.

Angel remained still, sensing no malice from Horus. He had merely teleported beside Angel, making no other moves.

At that moment, Sanders approached as well.

Angel observed that both Sanders and Horus had furrowed brows, seemingly on high alert for something.

Could it be an ambush? Why else would Horus erect such a conspicuous defensive dome? Was the target me, or perhaps Sanders?

As Angel was about to inquire about the specifics, suddenly, he felt paralyzed. An inexplicable sense of danger descended upon him, making his scalp tingle and his brow pulse intensely.

Angel cast a glance at Gloria, discerning from the depths of her gaze that she too had experienced a similar disconcerting predicament.

The light in Gloria’s eyes dimmed instantly, and as she sensed the beating of her heart, she whispered, “An Omen of Impending Peril.”

Furthermore, it’s a danger that’s monumental enough to threaten one’s very existence.

In the present company, the only one oblivious to this looming menace was the relatively less powerful Azaz. He looked left, then right, confounded, unable to decipher what was unfolding before him.

The sky was cloudless, bathed in the warmth of the sun, everything seemed perfectly normal. So why did the expressions of the wizards appear so gravely serious?

While Azaz was lost in his thoughts, a sudden palpitation sprouted from within him. However, this sensation didn’t originate from Azaz, but rather from Sebastian, a being whom he had offered sacrifices to, and who now lurked in the void.

“Sebastian, do you have any insight into what’s happening?” Azaz couldn’t resist seeking answers within his own mind.

On a typical day, Sebastian would respond in the blink of an eye. But today, he seemed to have vanished into thin air. No matter how desperately Azaz sought him out, there was silence. Only the ceaseless throbbing remained, assuring Azaz that Sebastian hadn’t truly disappeared.

He hasn’t vanished but remains silent. Is it reluctance or perhaps… a fear of responding?

As Azaz grappled with his own uncertainty, the sky abruptly darkened.

Without any prior indication, what was a clear, sunny sky a moment ago, transformed into an ominous shade the next.

Yet, there were still no clouds. The darkness was due to a colossal rift appearing in the heavens. This chasm appeared to be a tear in the very fabric of space, its blackness more profound than the darkest ink. Emerging from this rift, spreading like a sentient entity, it rapidly enveloped the entire sky.

Daylight had succumbed to night.

However, despite such an astonishing transformation, no unusual aura emanated, and Azaz felt nothing amiss. The pedestrians on the street, be they apprentices or ordinary people, went about as usual, and some even stopped to gaze at the changing skies.

“What has transpired?” Everyone was puzzled.

Yet, no one held the answer. Horus, Sanders, Angel, and Gloria were equally clueless at this moment… The only thing they sensed was an unprecedented foreboding of danger.

“Is it the legendary creature that once emanated its aura in the void that has returned?” Horus quickly queried. With such an alarming sense of crisis, the only thing Horus could think of was the presence of a legendary being.

Angel and Gloria exchanged glances, replying in unison, “No.”

Horus looked at them perplexedly, wondering why they were so certain in their response. He had his doubts, but he also knew that now wasn’t the time to seek answers. With a grave expression, he said, “Even though I’m not sure of the situation, it’s clear that things here are very unfavorable. Even after casting the Eternal Ice Barrier, the pulsation in my brow hasn’t ceased. It’s unsafe here; we must leave immediately!”

There was no need for Horus to spell it out; everyone understood that they needed to evacuate.

However, is it possible to escape using the Interstitial Space pathway now? Such a massive vortex, connecting to the unknown void, indicates that the surrounding spatial energy is fluctuating. Utilizing the planar passage here, especially for long distances, there’s a high possibility one might get lost within.

As everyone hesitated, Angel announced, “I will open the gateway.”

Using planar passage right now is unsafe. However, opening a door directly doesn’t pose an issue. The reason being, the portal that Angel opens is point-to-point, rather than a lengthy tunnel.

Although the gateway he opens doesn’t teleport over vast distances, at the moment, the most pressing desire is to swiftly depart from Sky Mechanical City and escape this territory shrouded in darkness.

The gateway he creates serves its purpose.

The Gateway Model has always been fixed to his Spell Position. Angel doesn’t need to construct it anew every time. He merely leverages the magical energy within his Magic Source Vortex, and a gatewy materializes before them.

Angel pinpoints the farthest distance the Gateway Model can reach and swiftly pushes the gate open, ready to make a hasty exit from this place.

Yet, just at that moment, at the center of the vortex in the sky, a bright light suddenly flashes.
