“Sister Sparrow Blossom…” It seemed as if Sparrow Blossom had a chest full of words she wished to share. Yet, after calling out to Angel, her train of thought appeared to halt, leaving her mouth agape, uncertain of where to begin.

In response to Sparrow Blossom’s hesitation, Angel took the initiative, inquiring, “Popoca doesn’t have much time left, does he?”

“… Yes.”

“Is this also the reason you insisted on meeting him through the signal tower?”

With downcast eyes, Sparrow Blossom nodded softly, “These past days, I’ve felt a pervasive emptiness. Upon reflecting upon this feeling, I saw certain visions. Visions of my brother. Realizing that his time is dwindling, I desired to see him one last time. Even if we don’t speak, merely a glimpse would suffice.”

While Angel had already surmised as much, the confirmation of Popoca’s impending demise still left him somewhat moved. He recalled Popoca once mentioning he might last a year or two. However, it seems he won’t even make it to half a year.

Could it be due to Popoca’s recent exertions in nurturing the Morphing Softworms? Or perhaps, upon seeing his sister Sparrow Blossom and resolving lingering regrets, the mental “block” urging him to cling to life started to slacken?

“How much time does he have left?” Angel inquired.

“Perhaps a week, or maybe half a month at most,” Sparrow Blossom said somberly, counting on her fingers the days Popoca might have left, “It won’t surpass the seventh day of the latter half of the Month of Rest.”

This means that by the end of this month, Popoca’s physical form will disintegrate. And currently, it’s already mid-month.

Angel queried, “After your chat with Popoca earlier, it seemed he already knew of his impending end. Did you inform him?”

Sparrow Blossom shook her head, “I said nothing of the sort. We merely discussed recent happenings.”

Angel instantly understood. Although Sparrow Blossom didn’t voice out her thoughts, Popoca was no fool. Precisely because she didn’t mention anything and avoided direct conversation about it, Popoca had already formed some speculations in his mind.

Moreover, no one knew Popoca’s body better than he did — he understood his own situation best. Whether it was good or bad, it was for him alone to know.

Regarding Popoca’s impending demise, Angel didn’t feel much. There was just a faint sense of melancholy. After all, the current state of Popoca was a result of his own choices.

Furthermore, his death might merely signify the end on a physiological level.

Angel had promised Sparrow Blossom that he would leave a glimmer of hope for Popoca. Meaning, he intended to carry Popoca’s spiritual light into the Wilderness of Dreams.

By then, even if Popoca’s physical body perished and his soul was seized by the Demon God, what would be taken would merely be an empty vessel of a soul. Popoca’s True Spirit would still remain in the mortal world.

Of course, whether this version of Popoca, now a resident of the Dream Realm, is truly Popoca or just a storage unit for a set of logical memories is a philosophical question of self-identity that varies from person to person.

Caught in their own reflections, both Angel and Sparrow Blossom were engulfed in a prolonged silence.

“Activating the signal tower consumes magic crystals every minute,” a cold voice resonated in their ears. Without a doubt, it was Isabelle, who was off-screen.

Perhaps Isabelle had some reservations about Sparrow Blossom activating the signal tower without speaking up. Or maybe, she wanted to snap Sparrow Blossom out of her deep sorrow.

Isabelle’s voice indeed brought Sparrow Blossom back to reality. She nodded apologetically towards Isabelle, then turned to Angel. After hesitating for a moment, she whispered, “Please.”

Because Isabelle was present, Sparrow Blossom did not specify exactly what she was asking for. However, Angel knew that she was referring to some arrangements after Popoca’s demise.

Sparrow Blossom herself wasn’t sure what Angel could do, but she prophesied that Angel might be able to leave a glimmer of hope for Popoca.

“I, of course, will keep my word,” Angel paused before continuing, “Is there anything else you’d like to discuss?”

Sparrow Blossom hesitated for a moment, “There’s one more thing. I’m not sure if I should mention it since I haven’t deciphered its meaning yet… Never mind, I’ll just say it.”

“When I was studying the ‘spiritual breath’ with Lady Moriah, I saw a Vision Scene where I noticed Brother Pat.”

Angel questioned, “By vision… do you mean, a prophecy?”

Sparrow Blossom nodded in agreement.

Even though Angel wears the Blood Night Sanctuary, which can block prophecies made about him by prophets, it seems that the unintentional and non-directional foretelling of the Laudsourcian tribe cannot be obstructed by the Blood Night Sanctuary. However, if Sparrow Blossom deliberately intends to prophesy about Angel, then the shielding of the Blood Night Sanctuary would be activated.

Sparrow Blossom added, “I saw Brother Pat seemingly walking in darkness, but there was an illuminated path ahead of him.”

After hearing Sparrow Blossom’s words, Angel was somewhat puzzled. What significance does this vision hold?

Angel directly voiced his query, and Sparrow Blossom’s response was a shake of her head, “I’m not sure about its significance; I haven’t deciphered it yet.”

Angel contemplated for a moment, “For your Laudsourcian tribe with the gift of foresight, do you sometimes see mundane visions, like eating, drinking, or strolling, even if these scenes are from the future.”

Sparrow Blossom nodded, saying, “Yes, such situations arise. The visions of the future I receive are random and uncontrollable, so they often show mundane scenes.”

Angel had initially intended to deeply ponder the visions Sparrow Blossom mentioned, but after hearing this, he dismissed the idea.

Perhaps what Sparrow Blossom saw was just Angel out for a night stroll, with the glowing path being the streetlights lining the road.

In the face of uncertainty about the significance of the vision, the best course of action for Angel was not to overinterpret it.

Angel responded, “I see. Anything else?”

Sparrow Blossom shook her head, “I don’t think so… probably.”

As she finished her sentence, something seemed to occur to Sparrow Blossom: “Oh, right! If I manage to interpret the vision, can I contact Brother Pat again?”

“Of course,” Angel nodded in agreement.

Whether Sparrow Blossom genuinely wanted to contact him or wanted updates about Popoca, Angel didn’t mind being disturbed by her.

Soon after, Angel waved goodbye to Sparrow Blossom, preparing to turn off the mini signal tower. However, at that moment, Isabelle emerged.

Her gaze landed on the figure behind Angel——Sanders.

“Lord Phantom Master,” she addressed, “Don’t forget our previous agreement.”

Reflecting on her words, Angel surmised that Isabelle referred to the alliance between Phantom Island and Black Castle. While Angel was certain to be involved, the actual executor and decision-maker remained Sanders.

Sanders replied, “I understand. However, this matter isn’t urgent. There’s a lot to handle in the Savage Grottoes lately.”

“As long as you remember,” Isabelle nodded, not saying anything further, and promptly ended the communication.

Angel waited a few more minutes, ensuring there wouldn’t be any more knocking sounds. Only then did he store the mini signal tower, which was positioned in the center of his study, inside his gear button.
