Angel crossed the Dream Bridge, returning from the Wilderness of Dreams back to reality.

As he regained control of his thoughts, he felt a faint play of light and shadow before his eyes.

Groggily opening his eyes, Angel saw that a tall yellow-leaved oak had mysteriously grown beside him. The warm sun, filtering through the dense foliage, cast a mottled shade on his face.

The flickering he had felt was the dance of light through the leaves, stirred by the wind.

When did this tree grow here? Yawning, Angel sat up, pondering the origin of the tree.

“My sun chair, did you sleep well?” A lazy female voice sounded beside him.

Turning his head, Angel saw Gloria sitting on the windowsill of the magical cottage, her eyebrows raised in amusement.

By now, Gloria had reverted from her previous extravagant flesh mountain demon lord appearance back to her normal form, indicating that her conversation with Lydia had concluded.

“Quite comfortable,” Angel replied casually, then changed the subject: “How did your talk with Lydia go?”

Gloria was about to speak when suddenly, a gust of wind rushed overhead.

Looking up, Angel saw a gray shadow plummet from the tree, lunging towards him.

Angel didn’t flinch or dodge; he even extended his hand. As the swift shadow stilled, Toby, the gray figure, was revealed, perched in Angel’s palm. Toby was the one who had pounced.

Angel was about to smooth Toby’s feathers when unexpectedly, Toby had no intention of lingering. He pulled out a black brick from the Snowy Feather and dropped it into Angel’s palm, then without a pause, dashed into the magical cottage.

Angel paused for a moment, then focused and realized that Toby was in the magical cottage, savoring a small fish snack with relish.

“No wonder he was so eager.” Angel chuckled to himself and turned his attention to the object Toby had left behind.

At first, he thought it was a big black brick, but upon closer inspection, he noticed many wooden fibers crisscrossing on this ‘brick’, resembling a net. It also emitted a faint, refreshing fragrance.

“This is the fruit of the Sticky Bud Fruit, specially created by Toby for you to pick.” As Angel pondered, Gloria nearby clarified for him.

“Sticky Bud Fruit? You created it?” Angel glanced at the tall tree next to him and then at Gloria. “A gourmet creation like the Milk Fruit Tree?”

Gloria nodded noncommittally: “Yes, why don’t you try it? Toby picked it especially for you.”

Angel wasn’t hungry, but considering it was a gesture from Toby, he didn’t want to disappoint. After thinking, he cut the Sticky Bud Fruit in half.

As the ‘brick’ was cut open, it revealed the soft, white flesh inside, still emitting a faint, refreshing aroma.

Angel: “Eat it directly?”

“Yes, the flesh inside can be eaten.” As Gloria replied, Angel also saw Toby perched on the windowsill, chirping eagerly as if urging Angel to hurry and eat.

Without any doubts, Angel tore off a small piece of the fruit with his mental power and popped it into his mouth.

After chewing twice… it wasn’t bad, but somewhat bland and tasteless. The texture was like a flavorless banana, soft and sticky.

Just as Angel finished eating, he heard Toby’s cheerful chirping. Turning around, he saw Toby happily indulging in a plate of fragrant small fish snacks.

Angel was somewhat puzzled by Toby’s joy and was about to say something when Toby suddenly approached him with a small fish snack in his mouth, indicating for him to eat.

Angel looked at Toby in surprise, as Toby was not usually so generous. Normally, Toby would eat ordinary dried small fish and wouldn’t share them with him, let alone these dried fish made by Azaz.

Although Angel didn’t understand what was going on with Toby, he still showed a face of relief.

However, just as Angel was about to try the dried fish, his hand suddenly stopped.

Why was he feeling so full? So full that the sight of food made him nauseous.

Angel quietly put down the dried fish he was holding. Toby’s eyes lit up, and he dashed away with the fish in his mouth.

Angel looked at Gloria suspiciously: “What’s going on?” He felt a strong connection between his fullness and Toby’s odd behavior.

Gloria: “The effect of the Bud Tree Fruit is to keep you from feeling hungry for at least a month. You don’t feel full normally, but the feeling surges when you try to eat.”

Angel: “… So?”

Gloria shrugged: “This was Toby’s idea, I don’t know why. But I have a guess.”

“Perhaps thinking you would compete with him for the dried fish, Toby decided to act first and fill your stomach.”

Although Gloria said it was a guess, Angel felt that this might be the truth… Earlier, when Azaz was making dried fish for Toby, Toby had spotted him but didn’t come out to see him, indicating that he was on guard against Angel stealing his snack. Toby even asked Gloria to create a Bud Tree to prevent Angel from having a chance to eat the dried fish.

Angel now understood why Toby was so excited just now.

He had thought Toby had changed, but now he realized Toby was just thinking faster…

Listening to Toby’s jubilant chirping in the magical cottage, Angel could only feel a sense of resignation. Well, anyway, he hadn’t planned on competing with Toby for the fish snacks, although he was curious about the taste of Azaz’s fish snacks.

Angel shook his head, no longer thinking about Toby, and returned to the previous question.

Mentioning Lydia, Gloria’s expression visibly darkened: “That woman hasn’t given a clear response yet.”

“No response? Is Lydia thinking of reneging?” Angel’s brows furrowed. When the parasite outbreak occurred in Shadow Demon City, Lydia had promised that as long as Angel entered Shadow Demon City and rescued a living member of the Moya tribe, she would agree to give Angel a chance for a fair trade.

At that time, as Angel was only an apprentice, Lydia’s offer of a fair trade opportunity was already the greatest concession.

So Angel agreed, and in the end, he succeeded.

Eventually, Lydia agreed that as long as he produced 3 million magic crystals, she would agree to return the No Eyed Man to him.

Gloria: “She hasn’t reneged yet, but from what she implied, it seems she has something to discuss with you, so she’s been avoiding the topic of the trade.”

“Discuss with me?” Angel: “Then should I go and talk with her?”

Gloria shook her head: “No need, you’ve already helped me a lot. Houston is my restaurant staff, and I naturally take responsibility for his safety. I’ve already spoken with her, and at the tea party, once she’s in the Savage Grottoes, I’ll talk with her personally. If she dares to renege by then…”

Gloria narrowed her eyes: “I’ll make her understand the price of going back on her word.”
