Chapter 2007 A Brief Interlude <TOC> Chapter 2009 When to Conclude

Sanders pondered for a moment and said, “I’ll inform Gloria about that matter; it’s convenient since I’ll be returning to Phantom Island shortly.”
Angel nodded in agreement, aware that Sanders had a Login Device and could directly use the Nightmare Illusion to enter the Wilderness of Dreams, making it effortless for Gloria to participate. Entrusting this task to Sanders was undoubtedly problem-free.
However, Angel noticed a slight solemnity in Sanders’ demeanor after he mentioned this.
Under Angel’s curious gaze, Sanders slowly stated, “Goode had sent me a message earlier. Sumesh has dispatched an Illusionary Message that’s currently at Phantom Island. My visit there is also for this matter.”
Angel remembered previously inquiring Butler Goode about the whereabouts of Flora and Sumesh. He mentioned that they had left a month ago, and their current location was unknown; given Flora’s extensive preparations for the tea party, it was presumed they might return before it. However, their absence, coupled with Sumesh’s unexpected Illusionary Message, was indeed peculiar.
“Let’s hope it’s not a distress signal,” Angel murmured.
Sanders responded, “If it’s a matter of life and death, both Sumesh and Flora, with their nature, would not opt for external reliance. However, if it’s a complex issue, they might seek my assistance. And their ability to invite trouble, though slightly less than yours, is not much better.”
With a sigh, Sanders rubbed his temples, “Let’s just hope it’s not a serious problem.”
Angel remarked, “…I don’t recall ever causing trouble?”
Sanders glanced at him and said, “You’ve caused plenty. But unlike them, the benefits you bring are proportionate to the troubles. They, on the other hand, are just trouble magnets.”
Concluding his thoughts, Sanders shook his head, “I’m off to Phantom Island now. We’ll discuss the rest tomorrow.”
After speaking, Sanders picked up the wine glass on the table, drank the remaining liquid in one gulp, then nodded to Angel, his figure gradually fading into nothingness, disappearing from sight.
After Sanders left, Angel muttered, “Have I really caused trouble? Have I?”
Angel pondered for a long time and internally concluded: Probably not.
Never mind, I won’t think about it anymore. Angel shook his head, discarding the complex thoughts, and left the Wilderness of Dreams.
…
Angel returned to reality. Instead of entering his usual self-contemplation, he looked around quietly, pondering. Not about whether he had caused any trouble, but about the hidden room.
When he left the Star Pool ruin, that sudden inspiration didn’t feel like his thoughts were being manipulated.
According to what Sanders and Tree Spirit said, perhaps the Star Pool ruin really had something to do with the ruins he was staying in now. Having spent a long time in these ruins, he had absorbed their aura, which resonated with the Star Pool ruin, sparking that inspiration.
If this deduction is correct, then the hidden room in these ruins must be taken seriously.
Previously, Angel’s attitude was: since he lived here, and the ruins were built by an alchemist, if he could find the hidden room, he would look for it, maybe there would be some benefits.
Whether he found it or not didn’t really matter to Angel.
But now, since it’s inferred that these ruins are related to the Star Pool ruin, the hidden room must be sought. Perhaps, the hidden room contains information related to the ruin beneath the Star Pool.
And the only clue they had to find this hidden room was the damaged rune on the knight armor.
Thinking this, Angel placed the knight armor on the table, deciding to try again to repair the damaged rune.
Time hastens its flight, as the morning star pierces the curtain of night, ushering in the light of day and the arrival of the next morning.
“Alert, an external entity has entered the Wilderness of Dreams!”
Angel, who had been immersed in repairing the fragmented runes, was jolted awake by a message from the Gate of Dreams.
Rubbing his slightly swollen eyes, Angel directed his cluttered thoughts towards the Power Tree.
His thoughts slowly peeled away, eventually merging into the Gate of Dreams. In his vision appeared a pitch-black world, illuminated only by a bridge, the Dream Bridge.
At the end of this bridge was a glowing entrance, known as the Gate of Dreams.
In front of the entrance, a corpulent woman, similar to a flesh mountain demon lord with heavy makeup, curiously peered into the glowing entrance, seemingly eager to discern what lay inside.
Simultaneously, Angel perceived another new message from the Gate of Dreams: “Alert, the marked one has entered the Wilderness of Dreams!”
Sanders had directly entered the Wilderness of Dreams, and this flesh mountain demon lord at the gate was naturally Gloria.
Angel, utilizing the authority of the Gate of Dreams, scrutinized Gloria closely. It had been a long time since he had seen Gloria’s original majestic form, and at first glance, he almost failed to recognize her.
Gloria appearing in her true form within the Wilderness of Dreams was not beyond Angel’s expectations. After all, in her consciousness, this is how she has always looked, and with her aesthetics, she also relishes in this appearance.
“It seems that Mentor brought Gloria in,” Angel waved his hand, directly passing through the Gate of Dreams, allowing Gloria to enter the Wilderness of Dreams while setting it so he won’t need to be reminded in the future.
“I wonder what Gloria’s reaction will be after she sees the Wilderness of Dreams?” Angel was curious about Gloria’s reaction but ultimately decided not to enter the Wilderness of Dreams.
Since Gloria had just entered the Wilderness of Dreams, she would surely have many questions, and Angel didn’t want to keep answering them. Moreover, he wasn’t sure how much information about the Wilderness of Dreams to reveal to Gloria, but Sanders surely had an idea, so there was no need for Angel to go in now.
Letting Gloria get a basic understanding of the Wilderness of Dreams first and meeting her later would not be too late.
With this thought, Angel withdrew his thoughts from the Power Tree and refocused on the knight armor before him.
When his gaze once again focused on the broken runes on the armor, Angel felt a wave of dizziness. He had tried to repair the broken runes the night before.
Accepting the challenge once again, Angel ended up defeated.
Like the last time, he simply couldn’t continue his research.
The main issue was that these broken runes were too fragmented; each angle had over a hundred possible arrangements, and who could know which one was correct?
Moreover, in the end, one had to determine through these arrangements what kind of magic formation these broken runes formed, a task which was incredibly challenging.
Even with his supercomputing state fully activated, he couldn’t figure out a good strategy all night.
What seemed like not-so-difficult broken runes had now become an insurmountable mountain in Angel’s eyes.
“Do I really have to spend years repairing this rune?” Angel murmured helplessly, covering his forehead.
