Chapter 2009 When to Conclude

Angel, referred to as spending a few years, implies dedicating all time and energy exclusively to restoring the damaged runes on the knight armor. This commitment offers a chance, amid countless data combinations, to find the singular shining truth.

Several years is a key point.

He’s not necessarily against spending this time. Many wizards spend decades studying a single subject, so comparatively, a few years doesn’t seem too long. Moreover, now that he’s become a formal wizard with a long life ahead, he can afford the time.

But is everything really going as smoothly as hoped?

Assuming the best outcome, he spends years and successfully discovers the secrets of the hidden room in the knight armor and gains access to it, finding out its connection to the Star Pool ruin…

Even if everything goes well, the passage of time is a reality. With so much time already passed, can the Star Pool ruin still maintain their current peaceful façade?

If the Star Pool ruin were devoid of Nightmare Plane creatures, it wouldn’t matter much. However, now that it has become a gathering place for these creatures, turning into a paradise for them, its proximity to the Savage Grottoes necessitates a swift resolution. Otherwise, an uncontrollable disaster might unfold should the creatures swarm out.

“Is there a way to quickly repair the runes?” Angel muttered to himself.

Previously, in the Wilderness of Dreams, while contemplating the damaged runes, he felt a fleeting spark of inspiration, which he failed to capture in time.

Supposing that lost inspiration was related to a method of quick rune repair, there might be an undiscovered solution yet.

In a moment of prolonged contemplation, Angel finally decided to temporarily set aside the conundrum, resolving to inspect the gate to the Star Pool ruin later to see if indeed a three dimensional map existed.

If such a map truly existed, it might contain information beneficial to him.

No sooner had Angel stowed away his knight armor than a ripple of energy emanated from outside the ruins.

A brief sensation revealed that Rhine and Tree Spirit had arrived at the site.

Glancing at the time, Angel noted that it was almost the end of the third day of the Star Observing event; their arrival was timely.

“Didn’t Sanders come today?” Rhine inquired upon entering the study, noticing Sanders’ absence.

Before Angel could respond, Tree Spirit spoke, “Yesterday, I received a Nightmare Illusion Message Spell from the outside world. Upon arriving in the Mirror World, it plunged directly into Phantom Island. Judging from the traces on the message, it likely originated from Sumesh.”

“Sanders returned to Phantom Island from the Puppet Hospital last night and hasn’t emerged since. There’s been no news for such a long time; perhaps Sumesh encountered some trouble.”

Rhine nodded in understanding upon hearing this, “I see, let’s hope the trouble Sumesh encountered isn’t too severe.”

After all, this was a domestic matter for Phantom Island, and it wasn’t Rhine’s place to meddle excessively.

Angel remained silent, fully aware that Sanders’ lack of communication wasn’t out of concern for Sumesh but because he was still within the Wilderness of Dreams…

“Since Sanders is preoccupied, let’s not bother about him,” Rhine paused briefly, shifting the topic away from Sanders to discuss the Star Pool ruin.

Although Tree Spirit had already informed him, Rhine still wished to hear firsthand from Angel about his experiences there.

Angel shared the spontaneous spiritual perception he had when leaving the Star Pool ruin the day before.

After listening, Rhine commented, “A wizard’s intuitive prophecy is generally premonitory within the context of the situation. Your unwarranted feeling might be considered a prophecy, yet it slightly deviates from the norm.”

Rhine pondered for a moment, “Perhaps, as you speculated, it’s related to the energy of this place. You’ve lingered here longer, absorbing its essence. And if the Star Pool ruin is indeed related to this site, it could have sparked your spiritual perception.”

Tree Spirit speculated, “If all aligns with our conjectures, might the ruins at Star Pool have been constructed by the original masters of this site?”

Rhine nodded, “It’s possible, as neither of these ruins are native to the Paramjit Plateau. Maybe, they both drifted here from the void at the same time, but the ruins Angel resides in were opened a millennium ago for various reasons, while the Star Pool’s only recently revealed itself due to the planar fusion.”

“The simplest way to confirm is to check behind the gate of the Star Pool ruin for a map,” Rhine said, then looked at Angel, “Tonight, I’ll enter the central passage of the Star Pool to confirm if the creature in leather shoes you saw before is still there. If all is safe, I’ll inform you.”

Angel nodded.

Rhine gave Angel a meaningful look, holding back his thoughts. If confirmed, they might need to search for hidden rooms in these ruins, likely requiring Angel’s involvement. But that was a future concern, to be addressed once confirmed.

After the somewhat heavy discussion, Tree Spirit cheerily asked Angel, “When can you tell me about the suggestion you mentioned yesterday?”

“Suggestion?” Rhine looked puzzled at the pair: “What suggestion?”

“The one he mentioned in Tree Spirit Hall yesterday, I don’t know the specifics,” Tree Spirit said, shrugging, “But from what Angel implied, it seems related to the tea party.”

Rhine turned his gaze to Angel and asked, “What about you? Are you planning to get involved in the tea party as well?”

“There’s no final decision yet,” Angel replied, maintaining a composed demeanor.

A flickering, uncertain light shone in Rhine’s eyes. Although Angel didn’t say much, it seemed he was indeed considering getting involved in the tea party.

The tea party was a major event in the Southern Region, and Rhine was curious what Angel intended to do there.

Moreover, Rhine was curious as to why Angel was confident enough to think he could have a say in the tea party.

“When do you plan to make your decision?” Rhine didn’t voice his doubts but asked, like Tree Spirit, when Angel intended to reveal his ‘suggestion.’

“Sometime in the next few days, I still need to craft a few things.”

Craft? Craft what? Rhine and Tree Spirit exchanged glances, both seeing the curiosity in each other’s eyes. It appeared that Angel was indeed prepared and determined to introduce a new variable to the current layout of the tea party.

The question was whether his so-called suggestion would be like tossing a pebble, creating small ripples, or like throwing a boulder, causing large waves. A sense of anticipation began to grow in Rhine’s heart.
