“I’m uncertain about others, but if your Dream Realm and the Dream Conch could integrate flawlessly, you might actually gain control of a segment of the dreamland. As I’ve mentioned before, infinite alchemy is merely the start. It could eventually evolve into a perfect world,” Freud continued to paint his envisaged idyllic future.

A perfect world? Such a utopian thought didn’t resonate with Angel. Even though the Dream Realm might not be as enigmatic as the Nightmare Plane, as long as it retains the characteristic of “dreams”, it could never attain perfection.

Angel was fully aware of Freud’s persuasive attempt, but he also perceived some value in his method.

However, when a person dies in their sleep, can their memories, consciousness, and logical thinking be perfectly preserved in the Dream Realm?

Even if Freud spoke with such certainty, without substantial empirical data to validate it, Angel could only maintain a skeptical attitude.

In the following hours, Freud retreated back to the room in the Cathedral of the Dead that once belonged to him. The room’s arrangement remained unchanged. He sat at the desk and started transcribing the Dream Reading spell.

While Freud was writing, Angel glanced at the situation downstairs. It was past midnight now, the six hours before dawn were when the safe zone in the Dream Realm was open. The group of men and women were already sheltered in the playground by Alda.

Alda, sitting on a rusty rocking horse, was swinging back and forth. He paid no heed to the talented ones, instead resting his head on the horse and singing a lullaby.

The voice was immature, yet it brought a sense of warmth.

The people who were still panting, grateful that they had survived, gradually fell asleep under the influence of the lullaby.

Once everyone was asleep, the little girl in red, Sunny, appeared at the edge of the playground.

“You really consider their welfare,” Sunny said with a hint of dissatisfaction. “I hadn’t had enough of their screams, and you’ve put them to sleep… Such a letdown.”

Alda, with his childish voice, tried to appease, “Don’t be angry, okay? Aren’t they still going to undergo your training during the day? If they can’t rest well, they won’t have the energy to scream, right? Moreover, if they don’t sleep, they might be too exhausted and might surrender directly during the day. Wouldn’t that be even more boring?”

Sunny pondered, seeming to agree.

“Whatever, they are in your safe zone now, and there’s nothing I can do.” After saying this, Sunny’s gaze slowly shifted to a woman who looked utterly elegant at the edge of the playground, “This woman will be my primary target tomorrow. Even if I can’t kill her, I will scare her to death!”

After declaring this, Sunny turned around and returned to the main building with a nonchalant attitude. She had completed her mission beautifully today and hoped to receive Freud’s praise.

After a while, Angel heard the rooftop door behind him being nudged open.

The intruders were none other than the visibly disgruntled Sunny, and Eniya, who managed to maintain a calm facade, with Blaire trailing behind her.

“Where is Master Tyson?” Sunny’s gaze held a trace of fear upon spotting Angel, but her temper, both rash and disrespectful, remained unchanged.

With an apologetic expression, Eniya murmured, “Lord Pat, Sunny insisted on finding you. Given my position, it was inappropriate for me to deter her.”

Angel cast a glance over his shoulder at them. As the master of this illusion realm, he was privy to every occurrence within it.

For instance, Eniya wasn’t lying. Sunny, indeed, hastened to find him after inquiring about Freud’s whereabouts. Although Eniya attempted to stop her, it was clear that her heart wasn’t in it. Moreover, she could’ve chosen to conceal Freud’s location from the beginning.

Similarly, the reason Blaire was accompanying Eniya was that during Angel’s conversation with Freud, she had snuck down to the basement to fish for information about Angel from Eniya.

However, Eniya had learned her lesson this time, skillfully evading direct answers to Blaire’s probing questions.

Therefore, even though Angel saw through Eniya’s lack of commitment in restraining Sunny earlier, he chose not to call her out.

“Freud is helping me with something,” Angel responded simply to Sunny. Despite her dissatisfaction with the answer, she recognized Angel’s reluctance to elaborate and left in a huff.

Seeing this, Eniya’s eyes held a hint of regret. She had subtly encouraged Sunny to approach Angel on the rooftop, hoping to discover the reason why Angel had sought Freud’s help. She hadn’t expected to learn nothing.

Since Sunny had departed, it was inappropriate for Eniya to linger. As she was about to turn and leave, however, Angel called her back.

“I have a few questions to ask you.” Angel gestured to the people in the field, “These people, as Freud mentioned, are the talents of this session’s Hurricane Tower?”

Eniya nodded in affirmation, “Yes, it was at my and the organization’s request that these talents have come here for a trial before returning to the mainland. Lord Pat, is there a problem with these individuals?”

“There’s no problem per se, but there’s a thorn among them.” Having said this, Angel pointed towards the aristocratic-looking lady that Sunny had earlier claimed she would specifically target.

“This person knows the secret of the Dawn of Slaughter.” Although Angel was previously conversing with Freud, all occurrences within the illusion realm were reported back to him.

Therefore, he was well aware of why Sunny had singled out this aristocratic lady earlier.

When Sunny pursued her as a butcher, single-handedly hunting her down, this woman coolly unveiled the secrets of the orphanage, exhibiting an air of absolute fearlessness. She even stated, “You wouldn’t dare kill me anyway, everything else is but an illusion. What should I be scared of?” Moreover, she continually provoked Sunny.

Had this been several months earlier, when Sunny had not yet gained control over her temper, such behavior would have indeed led her to her doom. Thankfully, under the careful nurturing of Freud over time, Sunny’s self-restraint had greatly improved.

“This illusionary realm, I have handed over entirely to Freud, and it is not my place to interfere. However, if it is considered as a form of trial, she should not have been informed of the secrets beforehand. This is not only a sign of disrespect towards Sunny, but also a disregard for me, the creator of this illusionary realm.”

Upon glancing at the woman, Eniya expressed a hint of embarrassment, “This is my fault. Mei is the princess of the Silver Heron Royal Family, usually quite well-behaved. She mentioned her fear earlier, and in my attempt to comfort her, I unintentionally disclosed the secrets of this place. I didn’t expect…”

“It seems like the direct descendants of the Silver Heron Royal Family share common traits – arrogant, rowdy, and disrespectful, just like Dev from four years ago,” Angel remarked with a hint of sarcasm.

Dev was a prodigy who was once onboard the same ship as Angel, the Purple Vine. Unfortunately, he was eventually killed by his own servant. Eniya was aware of this incident and knew that Angel and Dev had once shared the same boat. Considering Dev’s personality, it wouldn’t be surprising if he had taunted Angel on the ship. Hence, faced with Angel’s sarcasm, Eniya could only express her apology, at a loss for words.

After dismissing Eniya, Angel heaved a sigh. After all, this was a matter concerning mortals. He had made his point, and it was not his place to intervene excessively. However, this illusionary realm was something he left behind, and it irked him to see someone treating it so lightly.

After pondering for a while, he decided to take advantage of the time when Freud was still scripting the Dream Reading Spell, to maintain and evolve the entire illusionary realm.

The core elements remained unchanged, but Angel decided to incorporate some of his own talents – Emotional Control, as well as some spells related to memory shielding in the illusionary realm that he learned from the —Mystery of the Nightmare Domain—.

After a while, unbeknownst to everyone, Angel quietly began a new chapter in the Dawn of Slaughter Illusionary Realm.

Firstly, any mortal entering this illusionary realm would, according to the settings of the authority holder, have their memories of up to two years prior blocked. Even if they knew about the Dawn of Slaughter Illusion before, once their memories were shielded, they could not afford to be indifferent in the face of various threats in the illusionary realm. In extreme circumstances, their true nature would be fully exposed.

Secondly, Angel intensified the activity level of emotions in the illusionary realm. Even a tiny bit of fear could be magnified.

Thirdly, previously, Angel had added some Easter eggs in the Illusion Realm to aid in evading the Butcher’s pursuit. Now, Angel has completely hidden these Easter eggs. Instead, they are now passively activated, embodying a kind of human nature’s limit. If one grows and understands, these Easter eggs will be activated automatically.

“The game update is complete, I hope you all have more fun.” Angel’s lips curl into a malicious smile, whispering to the talented ones below who are still deep in their slumbers.

When Freud emerged from the Cathedral of the Dead, he immediately sensed the changes in the Illusion Realm. As the second authority holder, he was also aware of what had happened before, understanding Angel’s painstaking efforts.

Freud sighed, “If the gentleman continues to deepen this Illusion Realm, I can imagine that in the future, surrounding wizard organizations will likely add this part to the Guide Mission, making this place a must-go. I guess I’ll be quite busy then!”

While Freud was expressing his sentiments, he understood that the changes in the Illusion Realm would bring him considerable benefits, so he was quite happy to see it happen.

“I have left the Dream Reading spell in the room, Lord can check it anytime,” Freud said.

Angel probed his mental energy into the Cathedral of the Dead and indeed saw the manuscript of the Dream Reading spell on the table of the Illusion Realm room. Meanwhile, beside the Dream Reading spell, there was also a book written by Freud, —On the Combination of Illusions and the Dream Conch — 4th Revised Edition—, showing that even though Freud remained on the Revelation Continent, he hadn’t forgotten his research topic.

“I saw it,” Angel nodded, “Regarding the method you mentioned, I will try it when I return; regardless of the result, I appreciate your suggestion.”

Freud smiled a bit shyly, “As long as the gentleman doesn’t forget, if it truly succeeds, just leave me a place in that dreamy world.”

“Also, my promise before remains unchanged. If the gentleman truly succeeds, I will make the Oath of Luo as promised.”

Angel didn’t stay long, and at two in the morning, he bid Freud farewell and returned with Blaire to the Old Land Continent.

On the way back, a rare joy was visible on Angel’s face.

This trip, which he was initially reluctant to take, turned out to be quite fruitful in the end.

He learned that Eureka’s mental power would not recover in a short time, and he obtained a priceless Demeter. Most importantly, he obtained a method to save Jon from Freud.

Though the approach is unconventional, if it could work, it wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Even if it doesn’t succeed, at least, he has a research direction.

However, after leaving the Revelation Continent, Angel always felt that he seemed to have forgotten to do something…
