With these thoughts in mind, Iadase, who had remained silent until now, spoke.

“Given that Lord Giallar has cast his gaze from the Inner Abyss to La Sutherland, we certainly cannot let him underestimate us. La Sutherland cannot be transformed into a sea of fire. Indeed, as Nythotep has said, it is time to intervene.”

Aside from Komodo, the thoughts of the other demons were similar to those of Iadase. However, it was Iadase who was the first to voice them.

“I think Komodo makes some good points as well. Not only will La Sutherland be reborn in flames, but the souls of the demons will also be reforged in fire. When they return to the Abyss under the guidance of Kurland, won’t their roots be stronger?” The speaker was the burly Eudecernos, a curly horned demon also known as the Lion Horned Demon, wielding a trident, with a golden bell tied to the tail of the demon behind him.

His remarks immediately positioned himself in opposition to Nythotep, but no demon present would believe that Eudecernos would support La Sutherland’s transformation into a sea of fire.

He himself did not possess the attribute of fire, and the reason for his speech was solely because Iadase had just spoken.

Did Iadase and Eudecernos have a grudge? Not at all.

The only connection between them was that they had once shared a bed partner, the soon-to-be-molted Hai.

If this were in the past, Eudecernos wouldn’t care who Hai was involved with, after all, Hai was a Panaces Succubus, whose nature was promiscuous. But when Hai awakened, things took a turn.

Hai might potentially rival the lords in the future, and such a succubus met Eudecernos’s standard for a partner. Moreover, Hai’s awakened form involved a gigantic deepening of her physical form, which was so in line with Eudecernos’s true form that he was even more satisfied with Hai.

But as it currently stands, Hai’s affection seems to lean more towards Iadase.

As a result, in the eyes of Eudecernos, Iadase instantly became a thorn in his side. However, is it true that Hai favors Iadase? To any discerning eye, it’s clear that Hai never really cares about who shares her bed.

But to Eudecernos, blinded by his feelings, these details are inconsequential.

During the previous meeting at the Void Obelisk to discuss the sealing of the source of light, Eudecernos clashed with Iadase. It was hardly a surprise when they came head to head once again.

Nevertheless, Eudecernos’ logic of letting his lower half do the thinking was evidently not accepted by the other Great Demons. Not only did Nythotep express dissatisfaction, but the other Great Demons, who had previously been enjoying the show, also showed a look of disdain.

“We must make a decision now, whether to intervene or to let things be. If we continue to turn a blind eye, it’s hard to predict what will follow, and we won’t be able to explain to Lord Giallar,” Nythotep spoke up. “If you choose to stand by, then I will have no choice but to open a passage on the top floor and leave here with my subordinates.”

The demons glanced at each other. Even though Nythotep threatened to abandon their cause, few were willing to make a stand at this moment.

Eudecernos and Komodo stood on one front, Iadase and Nythotep on another, and the remaining three Great Demons had yet to take a stand that would break this balance.

If they continued like this, the outside world would indeed turn into a sea of flames, to their detriment.

But it hadn’t reached a point of no return yet, and they each had their own ulterior motives. Even though they were inclined towards Nythotep’s side, none of them spoke up immediately.

With a dark look in her eyes, Nythotep scanned the council chamber, and coldly said, “You may disregard Lord Giallar, but aren’t you afraid of offending the Flameless Lord? If at this moment, human wizards were to intrude, how would we maintain our pact of attack and defense, the agreement we struck with Olucia?”

Such a proposal, even invoking the name of the Flameless Lord, led to an immediate chill descending upon the present assembly.

At this point, Komodo posited: “The Void Passages have been sealed. Do you truly believe humans have the means to invade?”

“What about crossing through the Void?” Nythotep questioned, a glance inquiring.

“Olucia just arrived in La Sutherland. Even if the humans were to get the news immediately, then smuggle their way to La Sutherland through the Void, it would still take them at least three to four days. By then, Olucia would have long departed,” Komodo reasoned.

“But can you be absolutely certain that no oversight has been made?”

Nythotep arched a brow, the tentacles under her dress starting to withdraw, transforming into a ladder supporting her upper body. Without a single movement from her upper body, she was lifted by the tentacles to the council hall window.

The scenery beyond the window resembled the apocalypse.

The sky was aflame, cascading fire turning the ground into a visible sea of flames at an observable pace. Nythotep turned her gaze towards the crowd: “Take a look for yourselves. Do you truly believe La Sutherland can be reborn from these flames?”

The demons looked towards Nythotep, her silhouette edged by the fiery glow from the window, casting an eerie halo around her. Under the backlight, if one were to ignore the terrifying tentacles beneath her, Nythotep’s visage was strikingly beautiful.

Gazing upon the spectacle outside, the assembly of demons harbored various emotions.

But then!

Suddenly, a burst of radiant white light erupted from the outside!

A searing beam of light ignited the figure of Nythotep, casting an unyielding glow against the window, each pulsation further enshrining her silhouette.

For a moment, every demon stood in obliviousness, lost in conjecture regarding the occurrence outside that birthed such an intense spectacle of radiance. Even Nythotep herself was left flabbergasted, as her gaze was met with nothing but an infinite canvas of blinding luminescence.

As the brilliance began to subside, a sudden contraction seized Nythotep’s pupils.

The flames endured, yet the sky above now bore the imprint of an unexpected third party.

Humans! A substantial formation of human wizards had entered the battlefield!

Suppressing the conflagration of fury in her eyes, Nythotep turned towards the congregation of demons in the council chamber, her voice icy and emphatic, “Who was it that claimed humans could never reach here?”

At this moment, Komodo had no capacity to respond to Nythotep’s sarcasm. His eyes were filled with shock as he thought — why, why had the humans reached La Sutherland so quickly?!

Moreover, as soon as the humans arrived, they immediately commenced a large-scale harvest of the already severely wounded demons. In a short span of time, hundreds of demons plummeted from the sky, each resembling a meteorite, crashing into the scarred city below.

Komodo’s countenance turned frantic. He could no longer afford to hold onto the last vestiges of Source Fire, for he knew that the gaze of the Lord Giallar was perennially directed here. The aim of the humans was clear — to hunt down Olucia, and should anything befall Olucia, none would be exempt from culpability.

Instantaneously, Komodo spun around and declared, “The appearance of the humans is unforeseen, but we must prepare to intercept them now!”

“Only now you realize the urgency? Only now you want to intercept them? Remember, it is your hesitations that have created the current circumstances!” Concluding her sentence, Nythotep emitted a cold chuckle and allowed the tentacle beneath her to whisk her away from the council hall.

“Nythotep!”

The call from behind did not halt Nythotep. Slithering like a serpent, she moved towards the apex of the Void Obelisk.

While the current situation hadn’t reached the direst point, she needed to prepare for the worst. If an unexpected turn occurred, she had to find a way to escape, and now, the only avenue for departure from La Sutherland was the passage atop the Void Obelisk.

As Nythotep put everything in order and shut the towering gate behind her, she failed to notice an ethereal, crimson chain, stealthily poking its head out of the Abyss, hovering above the Void Obelisk.

Angel had speculated before. When Olucia came to the surface, perhaps the human wizards would step onto the stage of La Sutherland.

He had imagined countless scenarios. When, how, and under what circumstances Humanity Finally Takes the Stage?

He considered many answers, yet he had never anticipated their arrival to be so swift and abrupt.

Moreover, the timing was precise, occurring at the moment the celestial fire pattern was fully obscured. The vast floating iceberg of the human camp traversed the last corner of the night sky.

Once the massive iceberg entered La Sutherland, the night sky finally died out, with fire completely shrouding La Sutherland. Like a dome of luminous flame, it engulfed La Sutherland.

No one could escape this “prison” forged by flames.

“As I thought, humans,” Fafnir observed the floating iceberg in the sky, feeling no surprise. She had previously sensed the potential emergence of a new faction beyond the void and had already speculated in her heart.

The facts corroborated her conjecture with impeccable precision.

However, the intriguing timing of humanity’s emergence cannot be overlooked.

It coincides perfectly with the moment of the Source Fire’s inception and the envelopment of La Sutherland by the dome of flames. For the interim, until the Source Fire is fully conceived, La Sutherland will turn into a sealed miniature world.

On such an enclosed stage, what kind of spectacle might unfold among humans, demons, descendants of demon gods, and the newly emerged lord?

Fafnir originally planned to take Angel through the Abyss beneath La Sutherland into the inner layer while the dome had not yet descended. Yet, in the face of the unfolding chaos, she suddenly developed an interest in seeing the final outcome of this drama.

She lifted her hand and summoned a gust of wind that stirred the surrounding sea of fire, completely obscuring the location of the Phantasmagoria Cabin.

Having done all this, Fafnir comfortably perched on the lone remaining tree branch in the yard, activating her spectator perspective.

Angel, too, was gazing at the floating ice in the sky, but his focus was more on identifying the people on it.

The iconic flying vehicle, the floating ice, undoubtedly belonged to the Frost Moon Alliance. So, among the wizards who arrived this time, might there be any familiar faces?

If Lord Canter was present, perhaps he could inquire about Sanders’ whereabouts.

Ever since Sanders vanished in the interplanar passage, Angel had been deeply worried about him. If it weren’t for Sanders’ undried essence blood, Angel might have assumed him dead.

Speaking of essence blood, Angel suddenly had a thought and retrieved Sanders’ essence blood from deep within his bracelet.

When Angel beheld the essence blood within his palm, a ripple of surprise flickered across his gaze.

At this moment, it was cloaked in a subdued glow, appearing much like a vibrant gemstone.

This was a circumstance previously unseen by Angel. Guided by curiosity, he projected his mental force into the essence blood. The next instant, an echo of a voice materialized at the edge of his perception.

“An…gel…”

Perplexed, Angel stared at the essence blood. Was it a figment of his imagination? He felt as though he could hear Sanders’ voice.

As a test, he responded to the essence blood, “Mentor, is that you? Where are you?”

Yet, after a long period, the essence blood offered no reaction.

What could this phenomenon signify?!
