“Immune to almost all forms of mental interference?” Angel was initially baffled by this revelation. Only after an elucidation from Sanders did the inner workings become clear to him.

Being immune to mental interference meant that Rolando could not be hypnotized, no mark could be placed within his consciousness, and naturally, he couldn’t be turned into a puppet.

Furthermore, Rolando’s personality seemed even more unhinged than the mad Eureka.

Fearless of any punishment, it was as if he viewed his body as a mere vessel. Even amidst the throes of torture, Rolando seemed impervious to pain. Instead, he stood aside, chuckling darkly and tauntingly, provoking Suis with such compelling malevolence, as if daring him to deliver the fatal blow.

Yet, ending Rolando’s life would only usher in even more uncontrollable consequences. Thus, Suis had to exercise immense restraint.

But Rolando’s words bore a sinister magnetism. Time and again, he pierced Suis at his most vulnerable, pushing him to the brink of lashing out. It was only Sanders’ presence that kept Rolando’s devious plans at bay.

“His persona is nearly flawless,” Sanders remarked about Rolando’s alternate personality, “Were his powers slightly more formidable, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to dub him the sharpest blade in King Guman’s arsenal.”

Such a terrifying demeanor, lying dormant beneath an inconspicuous facade, blended seamlessly amongst the masses. No one could discern it, nor fathom its depth. But once revealed, it was as if Rolando donned an armor forged from despair, sheer madness, and malicious thorns.

No one could penetrate the soft being beneath this armored carapace.

Only by utterly destroying him could the mission of this armor be concluded.

Perhaps this is why King Guman chose Rolando… The power of the Scarlet Sovereignty inherently creates puppets, and if its force ever backfired on its master, Rolando’s secondary personality was there to assume control.

“To slay him would be to tread on uncertain waters. However, no more effective method of restraint has been found. Hence, during this period, Suis and Rolando have been in a standoff, attempting to find a means to control Rolando, or to expel his alter ego.” Sanders paused, adding, “But progress has been elusive.”

Above all, not only does Rolando harbor this terrifying second personality, but he is also the master of the Scarlet Sovereignty!

Throughout this period, even if bound in chains, as long as Suis is present, Rolando finds a way to manipulate Eureka in the Exile Space, and even the Scarlet Sovereignty.

Despite Sanders’ suppression, given the implications of the Scarlet Sovereignty, it’s hard to predict if Rolando is holding back any cards.

As such, Suis and Sanders cannot yet return to Pat Manor. If Rolando truly has a trump card and the Scarlet Sovereignty were to erupt once again, the ramifications are unpredictable.

After hearing Sanders’ account, Angel finally grasped their predicament.

“He now seems like one wielding an invincible shield, unafraid of death, even courting it,” Angel mused, shaking his head. This was a situation even he had not encountered before.

Others in his predicament, fully aware of their inescapability, would make a choice.

But Rolando is different; he handed the reins of decision to Suis and laid out his three clear trump cards: a horrifying alter ego, a fearless and even death-seeking disposition, and control over the Scarlet Sovereignty.

Each card, without a clear counter.

It’s as if, barring tearing the cards apart, there’s no alternative.

“So we’re just supposed to watch him strut around?” Angel frowned.

Sanders, too, felt somewhat helpless. He had considered other strategies, but each had its flaws, and there was a high chance of attracting King Guman’s attention.

To discreetly handle Rolando without causing a stir has indeed become a thorny issue.

Though Sanders did not believe the situation was entirely without solution, he contemplated that if all else failed, it might be best to abandon the tactic of resolving matters covertly. Instead, dealing with Rolando’s issues openly might bring more clarity. However, taking such a direct approach could inevitably lead to a confrontation with King Guman.

Angel paused, reflecting on potential solutions. Yet, if even his mentor felt helpless, the likelihood of Angel finding a workable solution seemed slim.

The crux of the matter centered on Rolando’s terrifying alter ego. Perhaps the key to resolving this dilemma lay in addressing this particular personality?

“Does an utterly flawless alter ego truly exist?” Angel mused softly, “Surely, nothing in this world can be entirely perfect.”

“Absolute perfection might be unattainable, but relative perfection does exist,” Sanders replied. “From what I’ve seen, his alter ego possesses certain mysterious qualities that, in my opinion, verge on relative perfection.”

“But if it’s such a near-perfect personality, why is it secondary and not the dominant one?” Angel questioned. “As an alternate ego, wouldn’t it aspire to take over the body?”

“Why do you assume it’s the secondary personality? Simply because I referred to it as such?” Sanders responded with a sly smile. “I merely meant that it’s the second personality I’ve observed.”

Angel paused, realizing the truth in Sanders’ words. Indeed, Sanders had only labeled it as a secondary persona, but he hadn’t stated it wasn’t the dominant one.

There could even be a third, fourth, or more personalities… that remained a mystery.

“Having traveled with Rolando for so long, and knowing that Rolando had dealings with Furlington, we can infer that during that time, Rolando’s demeanor was relatively mild, which we can tentatively label as his primary persona,” Sanders continued. “If Rolando’s primary persona were in control, it might possess certain flaws, making it susceptible to mental manipulation. Otherwise, the emergence of the secondary personality wouldn’t have been so strategically timed.”

Thus, Rolando’s primary persona might indeed be the key to breaking this impasse.

The challenge now lay in the fact that this primary persona had seemingly retreated. Drawing it out again would be a considerable challenge.

“What truly baffles me,” Sanders began, his voice brimming with confusion, “is how his strength can undergo such significant changes after a shift in his personality.” He voiced the essence of his bewilderment.

“Could it be, like Gloria’s situation, that this so-called secondary persona is merely two souls housed within a single body?” Angel pondered aloud.

Sanders shook his head, confident in his ability to discern a dual soul presence. “Rolando indeed possesses multiple personalities.”

The fact that his power received a remarkable boost during these personality shifts made it all the more perplexing.

Could the magic source truly alter with the shift in personality?

“How can there be such An Illogical Existence? Surely, he doesn’t possess two magic sources within his mental space?” Angel whispered, barely audible.

Upon hearing Angel’s musing, Sanders seemed struck with a realization. “While it seems improbable for such a scenario to exist naturally, what if there was an unknown force at play?”

Angel looked at Sanders, puzzled by his reference to an “unknown force.”

“Have you ever considered that a grain of sand, a table, or even a building might dream?” Sanders suddenly posed.

Such an outlandish thought had never crossed Angel’s mind. It defied all logic. However, the Dream Conch had accomplished just that.

“Are you suggesting interference from a Mysterious Object?” Angel inquired.

Sanders didn’t directly respond. Instead, he reminisced, “Speaking of which, I once attempted a mental intervention on Rolando. When I employed the Nightmare Illusion Spell to try and hypnotize him, I faintly sensed a subtle mysterious power at play.”

Angel questioned, “A mysterious power?”

Sanders nodded affirmatively, “Indeed, but Rolando himself is the master of the Scarlet Sovereignty. At that time, I thought the mysterious power he radiated made sense.”

“However, reflecting upon it now,” Sanders continued, “the mysterious power I sensed seemed to intertwine subtly with the fabric of the world, entangled deep within the sea of consciousness. It vastly differed from the mysterious power found on those affected by the Scarlet Sovereignty.”

Sanders gently tapped the table, a glimmer of thought flashing in his eyes, “I am beginning to wonder if this personality emerged due to such mysterious powers.”

“Only a Mysterious Object, something that defies all logic and conventional understanding, could manifest such abnormalities,” Sanders mused.

Angel interjected, “The power of the Scarlet Sovereignty is to create puppets… Could it be possible that King Guman possesses another Mysterious Object?”

Sanders shook his head, “There’s a significant possibility. However, we cannot disregard the influence of the Scarlet Sovereignty. After all, Rolando, its true master, understands it better than any of us.”

After a moment of contemplation, Sanders set down his cup of crimson tea and said to Angel, “I need to step out to ascertain a few things.”

With those words, Sanders’s figure started to blur, gradually vanishing from the Wilderness of Dreams.

In a pitch-black canyon, within a sealed domain constructed by the Geometric Lock, Suis faced a cage filled with magical restraints. Inside, a man sat on an iron chair. With his head bowed, he looked plain, almost inconspicuous.

Yet, when he raised his eyes, his presence was immediately palpable. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, an eyebrow raised in a mocking gesture, his gaze both manic and sinister.

Despite the silence barrier encircling the cage, Suis felt as if a series of wicked and arrogant laughter echoed around him.

Moreover, those terrifying eyes seemed to pierce one’s very soul, evoking the darkest of desires.

Suis suppressed the burgeoning desire to commit atrocities, averting his gaze from the man. Simultaneously, he counted the minutes silently in his heart——in 37 minutes, Eureka would break free from the illusion spell.

The man imprisoned in the cage was none other than Rolando.

Because Rolando could manipulate the Scarlet Sovereignty, it was often Sanders who trapped Eureka in an illusionary realm.

However, Eureka’s speed in escaping the illusion was accelerating.

Just a few days ago, she could have been detained for at least three hours. But judging from the current depletion rate of the illusion nodes, only a bit more than half an hour remained.

If this continues, the frenzied Eureka alone, along with the Scarlet Sovereignty under her control, will exacerbate the situation.

Could it truly be time to end Rolando?

Just as Suis’ countenance darkened further, there was a sudden rustling from behind. Turning around, he saw Sanders, who had claimed to be “feigning sleep”, now suddenly wide-eyed.
