To be precise, the colorful dragonflies only show a non-aggressive stance when facing Angel. Only Angel can sense the emotions of the colorful dragonflies.

Through the emotions conveyed by the colorful dragonflies, why are they occupying that particular ruin?

What hidden information exists in those ruins?

After listening, Angel hesitated for a moment: “Although I can sense some of the emotional expressions of the colorful dragonflies, it’s quite challenging to grasp their complete meaning.”

“Crimson Moon, Diamond, and Streaking Light; Dawn, Quartz, and Glimmer,” Sanders suddenly uttered this enigmatic phrase. His raspy voice reverberated within the cabin.

Angel paused briefly, immediately understanding Sanders’s intent.

In fact, this phrase comes from a classic fairytale. The tale is rather clichĂ©d: a young prince embarks on various adventures to rescue a princess kidnapped by a Demon Lord. At one point, the prince must find and unlock a chamber belonging to a cleric of light to obtain a divine weapon capable of defeating the Demon Lord. The key to this chamber is not a physical key but rather a mysterious riddle, which is precisely: “Crimson Moon, Diamond, and Streaking Light; Dawn, Quartz, and Glimmer.”

Unable to decipher the meaning of the phrase, the prince endures numerous hardships and eventually seeks wisdom from a sage in a neighboring kingdom. Armed with the sage’s insights, he finally understands the clue, ultimately unlocking the chamber and obtaining the divine weapon.

This fairytale is widely circulated, and Angel, naturally, has heard it.

By uttering this phrase at this time, Sanders’s meaning is actually quite straightforward.

The colorful dragonflies may not express themselves fully, but that’s inconsequential. Treat each piece of information it reveals as a clue or a code, and then one can decode it through various means.

“If all else fails, aren’t there ‘sages’ in the fairytale?” In fairytales, ‘sages’ are characters designed by the author to serve the plot. Though fictional, similar figures do exist if you parallel them to the Wizarding World.

For example, scholars who are well-read; or perhaps, prophecy wizards who seek the trajectory of fate.

“I understand,” Angel nodded. If it’s just about gathering some related information, he should be able to do it.

In Angel’s Nightmare Domain, there’s a colorful dragonfly. The intelligence of the colorful dragonfly is somewhat low, and it doesn’t express many emotions. It sometimes even fails to praise the Moonlight, the Queen, or Shava coherently. But the colorful dragonfly is much more expressive.

Though the colorful dragonfly, compared to other creatures of the Nightmare Plane, is obviously much less intelligent. For instance, the Frog Chanter, Fox Harpist, and certain Ministers are not less intelligent than humans; they just think and reason differently.

But lower intelligence has its merits. While creatures like those certain Ministers of the Nightmare Plane do respect Angel’s ‘Shava’ status, they sometimes question his actions. The colorful dragonflies are different; their lower intelligence makes them simpler and, by extension, easier to deceive.

Sanders: “As long as we deduce the truth about the ruins, we can always find a way to cope.”

Angel also doesn’t want a ticking time bomb right in front of the entrance to the Savage Grottoes. Naturally, it’s best if he can find a way to resolve it.

The carriage slowly swayed back to the estate.

Returning to his quiet room, Angel was initially planning to continue his study of transformation spells. However, after some thought, he ended up pulling out a new piece of paper and wrote a word at the top: “Lesson Planning.”

Angel originally didn’t care much about teaching; he was just there to earn some points and planned to talk off the cuff. But today, Horus mentioned his upcoming class, stating that people in the alchemy circle are waiting for news about Angel’s class. Liana also seemed very interested, adding some pressure on Angel.

After all, it’s his first time teaching, so Angel decided it’s better to take it more seriously.

In the blink of an eye, the subtle dawn light tore through the veil of night, draping the main district of Sky Mechanical City in a radiant golden hue.

On Monsignor Magic Material Street, the front door of the alchemy shop owned by Fingernail Granny swung open.

A man cloaked in a black wizard’s robe with a unique rune walked in. He lifted the hood that was covering his head, revealing a well-proportioned face.

He was a middle-aged man, whose visage, while not dashing, gave an impression of earnestness. However, his eyes flickered erratically, exuding an aura of shrewd calculation. Clearly, he was far from the simple figure he appeared to be at first glance.

After scanning the room, his eyes settled on Fingernail Granny, who was sitting by her desk sipping hot tea.

With a cheerful smile, he greeted her and took a seat opposite her.

“Marion, what brings you here today? The Novastar Competition is about to officially resume; your shop should be bustling,” said Fingernail Granny.

Marion, the name of the man, owned a shop directly across from Fingernail Granny’s. His store specialized in selling magical spell components.

“I have something to consult with you,” Marion paused and looked around. “What’s going on today? Why is there no one here? Usually, you have a horde of alchemists bombarding you with trivial questions, don’t you?”

Fingernail Granny did not respond immediately. Instead, she took a sip of her tea and focused her gaze on the rune embroidered on Marion’s wizard robe.

The rune was a misty halo, and within it was an area shrouded in darkness, resembling a solar eclipse.

“The rune on your robe…” Fingernail Granny furrowed her brows, “Have you joined the Profound Alchemy Society?”

Marion wagged his index finger, “I haven’t joined the Profound Alchemy Society; I’ve merely infiltrated it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have drawn their symbol on my robe; I would’ve engraved it directly onto my skin.”

The Profound Alchemy Society is an alchemy exchange meeting in Sky Mechanical City. Although it hasn’t done anything too outrageous, it is continuously engaging in minor mischief. People like Fingernail Granny look down on this alchemy society. This is because behind the Profound Alchemy Society is the extension of the Demon God of the Abyss, the Profound Lord, to his general followers. The rune of “Solar Eclipse” is actually the mark of the Profound Lord.

“What are you doing mingling with the Profound Alchemy Society?” Fingernail Granny pondered for a moment, looking into Marion’s twinkling eyes. An understanding dawned on her; based on her many years of knowing Marion, she seemed to grasp his intentions for attending the society. “Did you go to get a good deal?”

“It’s not about getting a good deal; it’s about reclaiming low-cost resources,” Marion replied seriously. “In fact, I came to see Granny about this very alchemy society.”

Marion then took out a disc-shaped object from his pocket and handed it to Granny. “This is an intermediate alchemy product. I calculated the material costs to be around 330 magic crystals, but they sell it to internal members for just 350 magic crystals. If sold in bulk, there’s a profit to be made. However, the processing fee being only 20 magic crystals seems too low; it feels suspicious, so I wanted to consult you, Granny.”

After a quick glance, Fingernail Granny handed it back to Marion, “It is indeed an intermediate product, and its quality is fine. However, the creator of this has borrowed the power of the Profound Lord.”

As she spoke, Fingernail Granny flipped the disc and pointed at a tiny Solar Eclipse emblem in the corner.

“It can be used, but I wouldn’t recommend it. This is a means by which the Profound Lord extends its power. Frequent contact with it could easily turn you into one of its general followers.” She paused, looking at Marion, “You don’t want Sky Mechanical City to become a haven for followers of the Demon God, do you?”

Marion took back the disc, his face flashing with hesitation.

Seeing Marion’s indecision, Fingernail Granny continued, “Even if you make this money, it won’t be long before Rosen sets his sights on you.”

At the mention of Rosen, Marion shuddered, his eyes shifting uncertainly, finally sighing, “Alright, I won’t make this money… If only I had known, I wouldn’t have gotten involved last night. Listening to ‘The Profound Above’ all evening gave me a headache.”

After a pause, Marion continued, “Oh right, Granny Fingernail, you haven’t answered my previous question. Why is there no one here today?”

Fingernail Granny sniffed the aroma of the tea and replied leisurely, “They’ve all gone to scramble for classes.”

“To scramble for classes?” Marion looked puzzled for a moment. “I remember that Water Ripple Witch’s classes were fully booked a few days ago. Is she planning to hold another course?”

“Or could it be that Lord Van Nathan is teaching? Though that doesn’t seem right either; I doubt everyone would scramble for his classes.”

Van Nathan is a well-known alchemist at Achillea Comprehensive College. Originally, he and ‘Mithril Shaper’ Jailall of Hurricane Tower were the alchemists most likely to be inducted into the Research Institute. However, Angel emerged out of nowhere, disrupting that prospect.

While Van Nathan is skilled in alchemy, he’s a fervent innovator who often displays disdain for traditional schools of thought during his lectures. So, conventional alchemists usually don’t attend his classes.

Fingernail Granny shook her head, “It’s not Van Nathan, and Water Ripple Witch isn’t planning to teach either. However, the instructor this time is indeed a member of the Research Institute.”

“A member of the Research Institute? Is it Potion Master, or has someone returned from abroad?” Marion curiously inquired, recalling that he had only recently heard that Water Ripple Witch had returned to Sky Mechanical City.

Fingernail Granny paused, then said, “It’s the one who’s currently the talk of the town.”

“The talk of the town?” Marion blinked, his eyes widening in surprise. “Granny, you don’t mean… Angel?”

Fingernail Granny nodded, “Exactly the one you’re thinking of.”

“He’s already returned to Sky Mechanical City and even started teaching?” Marion murmured to himself for a moment, then suddenly slapped his thigh and stood up. “Are they still Scrambling for Classes? I’d like to give it a try as well.”

“What’s the point of you scrambling for a class? With your rudimentary alchemy skills, attending the class would be a complete waste of a seat.”

Marion: “I’ve made a wager with Jim next door, who sells Witch Soup, on whether Angel has officially become a formal wizard or not. The stakes are as high as a hundred magic crystals! I need to see for myself.”

Fingernail Granny: “I can tell you the answer right now.”

Marion: “No, absolutely not. I must witness it firsthand. It adds a sense of ritual to the revelation of the mystery.” Having said this, Marion prepares to leave.

Fingernail Granny: “Although today is the day for class registration, his official class won’t start for another four or five days. If I recall correctly, he will be a special guest judge at the Novastar Competition’s matches.”

Marion’s steps halt instantly.

Marion: “You should’ve said that earlier.” He sits back down at the table. “The Novastar Competition’s preliminary rounds end the day after tomorrow, and the matches start the day after that. If Angel is going to be a special guest judge then, I can confirm with my own eyes whether he’s advanced without the extra effort of rushing to register for a class.”

Marion: “It’s no wonder there’s no one here. He’s not just the talk of the town; he’s the focal point in the alchemy circle as well. If he’s holding a class now, I bet all the alchemists specializing in potion-making would rush to register.” Marion often frequents Fingernail Alchemy House. Although his own alchemy skills are mediocre, his frequent interactions have made him quite knowledgeable about the alchemy circle.

Marion: “However, I didn’t expect Angel would be able to teach a class already. I presume he must be the youngest instructor at Achillea Comprehensive College. That’s quite an honor.”
