Chapter 1610 Phantom Moose

Chapter 1609 The Disappearance of Alana <TOC> Chapter 1611 The Gourmet Demon

Alana arrived during the Month of Gentle Rain, which is now over a month ago.

In other words, Alan reached Sky Mechanical City around the same time that Alana did.

However, Alan had never seen her and had even begun to wonder if… she hadn’t arrived or simply hadn’t participated in the Novastar Competition at all.

If it hadn’t been for Angel’s assistance, Alan would’ve remained in the dark about Alana’s disappearance.

“The most crucial point is that Alana went missing in Sky Mechanical City. The moment I became aware of her disappearance, I began asking around for information about her,” Alan explained.

“However, there were no leads at that time. It has already been over a month; what are the chances we could still find her?” Alan’s voice grew increasingly dejected, and his eyes filled with a sorrow that couldn’t be easily erased.

Angel looked at the disheartened Alan and sighed inwardly.

He understood Alan’s feelings; if Alan had expended great effort searching for Alana as soon as he arrived in Sky Mechanical City, perhaps he might’ve gotten some leads. Now, after over a month, finding her would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

“Hasn’t anyone looked for Alana?” Angel asked.

Alan replied, “Alana’s friend only informed my grandfather about her disappearance when they returned to White Coral Floating Island College half a month ago. My grandfather has been saving up magic crystals since then, hoping to consult a prophecy wizard about Alana’s location. It was only a few days ago that he saved enough to seek a prophecy.”

However, there aren’t many prophecy wizards around. The White Coral Floating Island College has only one, Professor Angelo, who has currently gone to the Crown Star Church for further cultivation. Thus, my grandfather could only find a prophecy apprentice, one of Professor Angelo’s disciples.

Of course, even if Professor Angelo were around, the amount my grandfather saved would probably be insufficient to secure his services.

“The prophecy apprentice collected the magic crystal, but couldn’t foresee anything,” Alan said, his hand pressing against his forehead and his face filled with anxiety and disappointment. “Grandpa Morrow just said he wants to come to Sky Mechanical City to continue looking for Alana. I told him not to bother, that I would search for her. But where should I even start?”

Alan’s eyes were tinged with red, and he looked as if he were on the verge of tears.

Though it had been several years since Alan and Alana had last met, the emotional bond between them hadn’t waned with the passing of time and distance. Whenever there was an opportunity, Alan would communicate with Alana through various means. Even a simple message brought by a mutual friend could lift his spirits for days.

This time, before Felicia left for Black Castle, she told Alan to stay and train at Candy House. But knowing Alana was participating in the Novastar Competition, Alan risked defying his mentor’s orders and joined Carvelyn and others to come to Sky Mechanical City.

Yet now, the Novastar Competition was almost over, and he hadn’t seen any sign of Alana. To make matters worse, he received this distressing news.

Normally a carefree food enthusiast, Alan was rarely seen this distressed. Angel, who had never seen Alan like this, said, “Here’s what we’ll do. The Novastar Competition is going to end in a day or two. After it finishes, I’ll return to the Savage Grottoes. I’ll ask a friend with strong prophecy abilities to look into Alana’s situation for you.”

In a situation devoid of any leads, Angel wasn’t keen on going on a wild goose chase. But when he got back to the Savage Grottoes, asking Totoro to assist with the situation would be feasible.

Alan looked gratefully at Angel. He knew that Angel had already gone above and beyond by connecting him with Glen. Now, Angel was even willing to seek out a prophecy wizard to help. He was deeply grateful.

“I’ll cover the cost of the prophecy,” Alan said.

Angel nonchalantly nodded. He knew Totoro wouldn’t charge for a prophecy. However, Angel was well aware that in this ever-changing world, people often took things for granted when they were offered for free.

“We might not need a prophecy,” Glen suddenly interjected, addressing Alan. “I can help you find her. If she’s missing in Sky Mechanical City.”

Alan looked at Glen in astonishment; he had never thought that Glen would help him.

In reality, Glen hadn’t initially considered aiding Alan either, but…

Glen glanced at Angel out of the corner of his eye. If even Angel was willing to expend energy to assist Alan, it likely indicated that their relationship was fairly strong. By helping Alan, Glen might be able to strengthen his own connection with Angel.

Not to mention, Angel was his idol, and just Angel’s status alone was worth the effort to court.

“Then I can’t thank you enough,” Alan said. His main problem was that he was looking for Alana in all the wrong places. Glen, having lived in Sky Mechanical City his whole life, was a bona fide local authority figure. With his assistance, there was a good chance they could find a clue leading to Alana.

Glen casually said, “Don’t worry, whether I find any information or not, I’ll have an answer for you within two days at most.”

Afterward, Alan shared details about Alana’s situation with Glen.

Before, Glen had only searched for Alana within the confines of the Novastar Competition, where a mere alias would suffice. Now that he was casting a wider net, he naturally needed to know what Alana looked like.

Angel also captured an image through an illusionary technique.

Angel flew toward Infinite Battle Tower.

Midway, he continued to ponder the issue of Alana’s disappearance.

By a twist of fate, they had once ridden together in a carriage, departing from the estate and entering the mysterious and unpredictable Wizarding World. Had things gone smoothly according to the original script, they might have enrolled together in the White Coral Floating Island College, each starting a new chapter in their lives. Even though their respective destinies would likely diverge, Angel still wholeheartedly hoped that whether it be Alan, Alana, or himself, each would find a way to survive in the Wizarding World.

All he could do now was hope that Glen would bring good news.

Time swiftly passes, and another semi-final match is about to begin.

“Demon Gourmet VS Phantom Moose.”

In truth, Angel isn’t as interested in this match as he was in watching Onassis compete. His attendance is primarily fueled by his curiosity about this suddenly famous “Demon Gourmet,” Azaz.

For this reason, he didn’t serve as a special guest judge for the match. Instead, he sat next to Gloria in the spectator stands. Having limited knowledge about the culinary arts, he reckons that Gloria would be his best channel to understanding the foundation of this Demon Gourmet.

When the two competitors make their entrance, the first person Angel notices isn’t the grim Azaz.

It’s “Phantom Moose” Trom.

Trom wears a hat adorned with moose antlers and a moose-skin shirt and pants. He doesn’t look like a wizard; he appears more like a hunter from the frozen tundra.

Youth still lingers on his face, indicating that he must be around fifteen years old. To have come this far at such a young age speaks volumes about his abilities.

However, Angel’s attention to Trom isn’t due to his youth.

After the match between Shalem and Yuri ended, Angel felt a gaze full of sorrow on him as he left. That gaze was so piercing that Angel couldn’t help but turn back to look.

He discovered that the owner of that sorrowful gaze was a young man wearing a moose-antler hat.

Now, upon reflection, it’s clear that this young man is the “Phantom Moose” Trom.

Angel doesn’t know Trom, nor does he understand why the young man looked at him with such a mournful expression. However, there’s something oddly familiar about the energy emanating from Trom, a resonance Angel can’t quite place, as if he’s sensed a similar vibration somewhere before.
