Sanders: “Now that the Novastar Competition has concluded, are you here to discuss leaving with me?”

Angel moved to the window. Through the crystal-clear glass, he could observe the estate below.

Gloria was training Toby, who had taken on the form of a griffin. Shirley, on the other hand, had her eyes closed, sensing the emotions on Toby. Every now and then, she would jot down notes.

“It’s indeed time for me to depart,” Angel remarked. “However, I wish to stay a few more days and attempt exposing Toby to the Tribulation of Resentment.”

Sanders: “Is that the reason you sought me out?”

Angel nodded in affirmation.

“Very well,” Sanders said with a hint of detachment. “Even though Lord Rhine Mute hopes for our earlier return, according to Maya’s prophecy, the ruins should remain stable for a short while.”

After a pause, Sanders inquired, “You mentioned exposing Toby to the Tribulation of Resentment? Are you planning to let him enter the House of Hearts?”

“Yes, based on some tests conducted by Freud, the House of Hearts should work for Toby. However, the reason I wish to prolong my stay is due to Shirley.”

While the Water Ripple Witch had given Angel some authority over Shirley, he couldn’t really take her out of Sky Mechanical City. Thus, he hoped to utilize Shirley’s emotion sensing abilities during their time in Sky Mechanical City to resolve Toby’s issues as quickly as possible.

Sanders remained noncommittal about the matter. His primary focus was on researching macro and micro world energy system. Whether that research took place in Sky Mechanical City or back in the Savage Grottoes, it wasn’t of primary concern to him.

“Make your decision about Toby,” Sanders said after a brief pause. “However, I am quite intrigued by the research report on the House of Hearts you mentioned.”

After a while, Sanders ventured into the Wilderness of Dreams. He sought Freud to review reports related to the House of Hearts.

Angel then left Sanders’ study and made his way to the courtyard.

Upon Angel’s arrival, Toby, who was in training, looked over with tear-filled eyes. Despite currently taking the form of a griffin as massive as a small mountain, the misty-eyed look on Toby’s face evoked a kind of pity due to the contrast between his huge form and his vulnerable expression.

Although Toby was trying to send a distress signal to Angel, based on past experiences, he was aware that Angel might not come to his rescue.

However, this time proved to be an exception for Toby.

Angel walked straight into the scene, positioning himself between Toby and Gloria.

Gloria furrowed her brows, “What do you mean by this?”

Given that her counterpart was Angel, Gloria’s tone was slightly restrained. If it had been anyone else, Gloria might have acted more brashly, perhaps lashing out with her whip without hesitation.

“I am preparing to conduct an experiment that might be beneficial for Toby’s situation,” Angel stated directly.

Upon hearing that the experiment pertained to something “beneficial for Toby,” Gloria’s expression softened a bit, “Does it have something to do with the Tribulation of Resentment?”

“Yes,” Angel nodded. “While this experiment doesn’t have specific physical requirements for Toby, it may necessitate a relatively stable mental state, which is why…” he interrupted Gloria’s training session.

Understanding Angel’s intention, Gloria set aside her special whip and moved to the side, “I’d like to hear more about the design of this experiment and the expected outcomes.”

After Gloria stepped aside, Toby, full of joy, dashed over to Angel and affectionately rubbed his head against him, trying to express his elation. However, Toby seemed to forget he was still in his fiery griffin form. Fortunately, Angel dodged swiftly; otherwise, his hair might have caught fire.

Toby seemed to be aware of his own situation, showing a hint of embarrassment. He lowered his head, chirped, and transformed into a nondescript little bird. Only then did he fly to perch on Angel’s shoulder.

Angel gently stroked Toby’s feathers and then walked over to Gloria.

“I need to keep the specifics of the experiment confidential for now,” he said.

“Confidential?” A look of suspicion appeared on Gloria’s face. “Why would Angel keep things about Toby’s Tribulation of Resentment a secret? Unless there’s something in the experiment he doesn’t want others to see or a process he’s unwilling to reveal?”

“Yes, I apologize for not being able to disclose the details now. But what I can share is that I’m not planning to conduct this experiment in reality.”

“Not in reality? Do you mean to do it in a dream?” Shirley, who had been eavesdropping on the conversation, couldn’t help but murmur under her breath.

Angel glanced at Shirley and responded, “Exactly. I intend to conduct this experiment within a dream.”

Shirley appeared puzzled, not grasping Angel’s intent. However, Gloria caught on, “Are you planning to enter Toby’s dream?” She recalled a time in Black Castle when she saw Angel entering Toby’s dream, hence the question.

“You’re aware that resentful thoughts can manifest as characters in dreams, attempting to lure Toby. In his own dream, Toby can’t fully control himself.”

Gloria nodded in understanding. “Entering someone else’s dream is like venturing into a realm carefully crafted by that person. It’s quite a perilous endeavor.”

“That’s precisely why I won’t be entering Toby’s dream. Instead, I plan for Toby to enter mine,” Angel paused after saying this.

A realization dawned on Gloria. Angel, within his own dream, likely intends to conduct his experiment, but surely there’s more to it than meets the eye.

“Even if I don’t know what experiment you want to perform,” Gloria began, “how will you get Toby to enter your dream? It’s unlikely that Toby would delve into learning the Dream Entry spell, right?”

“I have a way,” Angel winked, “My dream spells are not just limited to the Dream Entry.”

What Angel implied was that he knows other dream-related spells that could allow Toby to enter his dreams.

If a dream-sequence wizard stood in front of Angel, they’d probably see right through this — deeming it a falsehood. Even if there truly existed a method to allow others to enter one’s dream, it wouldn’t merely be a simple trick.

However, facing Angel was Gloria. She had limited knowledge about the dream sequence — a lineage extremely rare. Thus, she didn’t immediately perceive any discrepancies.

After some contemplation, Gloria said, “If you’ve made up your mind, then… alright.”

For such an unknown procedure, Gloria surely had reservations. However, she also believed that Angel wouldn’t harm Toby. Trusting this sentiment, Gloria chose to place her faith in Angel.

Angel gave Gloria a reassuring nod. He then turned his gaze to Shirley, who was conspicuously eavesdropping.

“After I guide Toby into the dream, I’d like you to monitor and note the fluctuations in his emotions,” he said.

Shirley hadn’t expected Angel to assign her a task. She hesitated momentarily before nodding in agreement. Being by Gloria’s side, her duty was inherently to observe Toby’s condition.

Once the external arrangements were settled, Angel didn’t go inside. Instead, he found a spot in the courtyard and sat down. In full view of Gloria and Shirley, he led Toby into the Wilderness of Dreams.

Once Angel and Toby were immersed in the dream,

Gloria observed the peacefully sleeping Toby, her expression showing a hint of puzzlement.
