“What emblem?” Little Six immediately inquired. Although she might lack in other areas, she had lived in Sky Mechanical City for so long that recognizing clan badges or symbols of wizard organizations was certainly within her realm of expertise.

Helen pondered, “It seemed to be a symbol. Not a symbol from the common script, perhaps some peculiar script or maybe a self-made symbol?”

As Helen described, Little Six swiftly retrieved a portable notebook from her inner lining, emitting a faint elegant fragrance. Attached to the notebook was a miniature pen.

“If you remember it, feel free to draw it out using this,” Little Six offered the notebook to Helen.

Helen nodded, took the pen, and flipped open the notebook.

Angel observed that the notebook was made of a special thin leather paper. The pages were densely filled with writings, various drawings, and magical formulas. The edges of the paper were frayed, indicating that Little Six frequently used it.

Perhaps noticing Angel’s gaze, a hint of blush appeared on Little Six’s cheeks, “This, this notebook, I use it to jot down my inspirations and reflections.”

Angel responded without much ado, merely nodding, “You’ve put much thought into it.”

Angel didn’t scrutinize the contents, as it was someone else’s personal notebook. However, he caught a glimpse of a few drawings inside. The annotations and accompanying formulas beside them were very precise. Moreover, there were reflections from Little Six herself, reflecting her diligence.

Little Six lowered her head, feeling a tad delighted but too bashful to show it openly.

On the other side, Helen flipped to a blank page in the notebook and began to draw the peculiar symbol from her memory.

The symbol was quite simple, consisting of two structures. The upper structure resembled the pattern “丫”, while the lower structure was even simpler, just a single “一”.

“Finished drawing so quickly?” Little Six looked at the hand note with confusion. When she saw the design drawn on it, she finally understood why Helen said it was a symbol.

Its structure is quite similar to some symbols, only it’s more straightforward, almost as if it’s been simplified.

However, such a simple symbol left Little Six perplexed.

“I’ve never seen any wizard organization or wizard family use this design… this symbol,” Little Six racked her brain trying to remember, but couldn’t figure it out.

Little Six felt a bit dejected. She initially thought she could assist Helen with her “rich experience and knowledge”, but she found herself clueless.

All Little Six could do was look to Angel, hoping he might know something.

Angel, at that moment, was intently staring at this symbol. At first, he didn’t recognize its origin, but as he continued to examine it, it seemed more and more familiar.

Suddenly, within Angel’s contemplative sea of thoughts, it was as if a bolt of lightning struck.

The illumination revealed a vivid design deep within his sea of consciousness, one that had been long obscured.

When Angel realized what the symbol represented, his pupils sharply narrowed, and it felt as if the air in his chest had been cut off. It was only after a long moment that he managed to exhale a turbid breath.

“My Lord?” Helen whispered, “Does this design represent a particular wizard organization?”

Angel had already regained his composure by then, but his mental sea was still tumultuous. After a long silence, he replied, “I have a slight clue about this. I’ll speak to the law enforcement team later. Someone should contact you soon.”

Angel didn’t directly answer Helen’s question, which made her feel a bit uneasy. However, since Angel had mentioned discussing it with the law enforcement team, it should… be alright, right?

Helen couldn’t help but ask again, “What about the safety of Silkvine…”

“I can’t promise anything; after all, half a month isn’t a short period of time. However, if she’s still alive, I believe there might be a way to save her.”

Angel provided a rather vague response. Although Helen was still somewhat uneasy, in the end, this was already a relatively positive outcome.

Angel stood up, picking up a note from Little Six, which caused Little Six’s face to blush with embarrassment.

Yet, the next moment, Little Six heard the sound of tearing paper. It was Angel, ripping off a piece of parchment that had symbols written on it. He then handed the remaining note back to Little Six.

“I should be leaving now. As for this paper, I’ll give it to the law enforcement team later,” said Angel. Without any hesitation, he picked up Toby, who was round-bellied from eating dried fish, and headed towards the door.

By the time Little Six hurried out, Angel’s silhouette had already vanished into the dark night.

“How did he leave so quickly…” Little Six muttered under her breath, her tone carrying a hint of regret.

At that moment, she heard heavy footsteps behind her. Turning around, she saw Helen leaning against the wall, slowly making her way towards her.

“You haven’t fully recovered; you should sit down,” Little Six said urgently, helping Helen walk inside.

“I’m fine,” Helen replied, shaking her head. Her eyes reflected deep thought as she whispered, “I feel that something is strange.”

“What’s strange?”

Helen shook her head again, “I can’t quite put my finger on it.”

It seemed that something had changed in Angel after seeing those symbols. His expressions and actions were similar to before, but she felt something odd deep within her.

Moreover, if he was going to inform the law enforcement team, was there a real need to take that parchment specifically?

Helen felt a multitude of questions swirling within her, but Little Six reassuringly patted her shoulder, saying, “Don’t overthink it. With the law enforcement team on our side, we’re bound to hear from Silkvine soon. Besides, those strange people didn’t kill Silkvine; they captured her. I believe they wouldn’t want her to die so quickly. There’ll surely be good news.”

Seeing Little Six’s optimistic grin, Helen let out a sigh, “I hope you’re right.”

Elsewhere, Angel was hovering in mid-air, his robes flapping loudly in the night breeze. The parchment in his hand was also fluttering uncontrollably.

Yet Angel’s gaze remained unwavering, fixated on the symbols on the parchment.

It can’t be mistaken.

This symbol signifies that meaning… Wait, it’s not a symbol at all; it’s a pattern!

The character ‘丫’ on top and ‘一’ below, at first glance, looks like some simplified symbol. Still, in actuality, it represents a pattern — the depiction of the Bud breaking through the soil!

What could the pattern of “the Bud breaking through” mean that Angel wouldn’t already know?

“Devotees of the Bud,” Angel murmured the name of this group softly.

It’s almost certain; these people must be the Devotees of the Bud. After Angel had slain the last female devotee of Paradova, he thought he had eradicated these pests. Yet, they still exist!

Based on previous speculations, these individuals hail from the Wizarding World of foreign territories but have now appeared in the Southern Region.

Perhaps, they might be the masterminds behind the spread of the Bud’s faith in the Southern Region!

If the speculation is accurate, did they come to the Southern Region with intentions of further propagating the faith of the Bud?

If that’s the case, they cannot remain! At the very least, they can’t continue to stay in the Southern Region!

However, Angel needn’t intervene in this matter. The faith of the Bud isn’t something he can stop alone. Since this issue has arisen in Sky Mechanical City, the best course of action would be to entrust it to the higher-ups of Sky Mechanical City to handle.
