After the creatures of the Nightmare Plane learned of Angel’s appearance at the Star Pool Ruins, they pondered the direction things would take. Would it be good? or bad? For now, Sanders couldn’t jump to conclusions.

However, judging from the emotions Angel sensed, which were still of admiration, it seemed the creatures hadn’t harbored any malice toward him yet.

But nothing was absolute. After all, they had encountered beings from the Nightmare Plane that were hostile toward Angel.

Caution was still paramount.

Angel’s conversation with Sanders didn’t escape Rhine and Tree Spirit.

Tree Spirit didn’t understand, but Rhine knew some insider information. However, his knowledge was limited since Sanders seldom spoke of the Nightmare Plane. Rhine knew that Angel could act among the creatures of the Nightmare Plane under the guise of “Shava,” but since it was a guise, there would inevitably be slip-ups.

Thus, after listening, Rhine said, “Earlier you mentioned that a powerful entity called a ‘Minister Level’ being might descend. Now that you’ve been discovered by them, is it really safe to enter the passage?”

Rhine was implying that if the Minister level entity realized Angel was impersonating someone, it might pose a problem.

Angel understood Rhine’s insinuation but couldn’t elaborate much, as he himself was still somewhat in the dark about his connection to Shava’s identity.

“We’re just going to take a look at the entrance of the ruins. As long as we don’t step inside, there shouldn’t be any problems,” Angel reassured.

Rhine considered this. If they were just taking a glance, it shouldn’t take too long. Plus, he carried with him the deepest essence of the Savage Grottoes. Even if they encountered a so-called “Minister Level” creature, they should be able to escape if not outright confront it.

With this in mind, Rhine decided not to dissuade Angel further.

Soon, they arrived at the very center of the Star Pool. Looking down, the passage was still as calm as ever, with no signs of any Nightmare Plane creatures at the intersection of light and shadow. It was impossible to tell that just moments ago, tens of thousands of live wires had erupted from here.

Upon reaching this point, Angel felt his emotions becoming clearer, as praises flooded in, as if numerous creatures from the Nightmare Plane were whispering sweet nothings in his ear.

This praise didn’t bother Angel; rather, the constant “Praise Shava” gave him a peculiar sense of cognitive dissonance. Who was he really? Shava or Angel?

“Since we’ve decided to enter, remember that our primary goal is not the runes beyond the door but our own safety,” Rhine solemnly said. “Although this ruin harbors many secrets we wish to uncover, if we lose our lives in the process, knowing those secrets would be meaningless.”

Rhine’s words were primarily directed at Angel. Angel’s youth meant boundless potential, but it also meant his experience was lacking. If he acted rashly out of fervor and ended up a mere pile of dust, all that potential would go to waste.

“Ensure your own safety before pondering the runes beyond the door. Remember, do not venture too deeply into the ruin. Should danger arise, be ready to activate your spatial displacement spell to move to the entrance of the passage. iron Armor Granny will be there to assist you.”

After emphasizing these key points, Rhine nodded towards the distance.

As he did, arcs of light simultaneously appeared above three observation pavilions, connecting two by two to form a massive and sturdy barrier.

The Light Wall was activated!

“Prepare to enter,” Rhine said, nodding to everyone. He pointed his finger to ripple the water’s surface, stepping first into the deep, secluded passage, with Sanders following closely behind.

As the passage opened, a flurry of scattered emotions burst forth. Angel could sense some of these emotions carried logical inertia, but there was no time to decipher their meanings as he plunged headfirst into the ruin.

At the Star Pool, Rhine’s solemn words instilled a sense of urgency in Angel, but as soon as he entered the passage, that urgency vanished.

The rich aura of the Nightmare Plane around him was incredibly comforting, as if he was soaking in a hot spring.

With each breath, even without deliberate conversion, the magic vortex in his mental space was spinning rapidly, turning into purer magic power.

Furthermore, the green runes in his right hand and eye suddenly became much lighter, as if they had broken free from shackles, moving from sluggishness to fluidity.

Rhine was observing the surroundings and didn’t notice Angel’s condition, but Sanders, whose right eye seemed to be faintly glowing, did.

“Are you alright?” Sanders asked.

Angel nodded earnestly: “Better than ever. But the better I feel, the more I sense something is off.”

Sanders, also with a Nightmare Soul, felt comfortable in this environment, but he understood what Angel meant. The more comfortable they felt, the denser the Nightmare Plane’s aura was.

“The aura of the Nightmare Plane here, although not as pure as the real Nightmare Plane, is not far off,” Sanders said, looking toward the depths of the passage. “This is just the periphery of the ruins. It’s foreseeable that the deeper parts might be comparable to the Nightmare Plane.”

This was not a good sign. They hadn’t felt this way even when trapped in Sleepless City.

It meant that this half-plane was completely fixed. It would be incredibly difficult to shake it artificially.

In essence, this place had almost become an extension of the Nightmare Plane’s tendrils. The terrifying entities of the Nightmare Plane could exert their absolute strength here!

Sanders had much to say, but it wasn’t the time. He ended with a simple warning to Angel: “Be careful.”

Rhine has already checked the area: “Within the range of light, everything is as before, nothing dangerous. It seems the danger still lurks in the shadows.”

After speaking, Rhine leads the way towards the place where light and darkness intersect.

This spot is about ten meters from the darkness. Though nothing has happened in this short distance, for Rhine and Sanders, each step closer to the darkness increases the pressure in their hearts. No one knows how many terrifying creatures are hidden in what appears to be tranquil darkness.

Angel, trailing behind, analyzes the emotions embedded in the passage.

He disregards the fragmented emotions, as even if he could decipher something from them, it wouldn’t be of much use. He’s more interested in analyzing the coherent, logical, or strongly felt emotions.

These characteristics suggest that the creature emitting these emotions might have been, or still is, in this passage recently.

When they reach the point where light and shadow meet, Sanders pauses slightly and looks back at Angel: “Do you sense anything?”

Rhine also looks towards Angel.

After a moment of silence, Angel replies: “Inside, there are some coherent emotions, mostly excitement and agitation, probably from the same creatures Rhine encountered before. Besides that, there are no other emotions with significant implications.”

In other words, according to Angel’s perception, they are mostly low-intelligence creatures.

Although Angel’s information seems unremarkable, it’s precisely what Rhine and Sanders want to know.

They didn’t come here to delve deep into the ruins this time. Completing the task without any incidents or surprises is enough for them.
