For a fleeting ten minutes, the detoxifying effects of the Tide Spider Antidote persisted. Within this brief span, Leon exuded a profuse amount of fresh blood from every pore.

With great difficulty, Angel patiently waited until the venomous secretions of the Tide Spider were finally expelled from Leon’s system. Immediately following this, Angel invoked a healing spell to alleviate the extensive blood loss suffered by Leon.

However, Angel could only attend to Leon’s external injuries. The fractured bones and internal organ damage that Leon had sustained were eventually tended to by Suis.

Once all treatments were completed, Leon once again surrendered to the realm of sleep.

“Leon’s lost a lot of blood. After about a week of rest, he should be back to his usual self.” As Suis was speaking, he extended a mental tendril towards Leon, sensing the current condition within Leon’s body.

Unexpectedly, a surprised look crossed Suis’ face, “Hmm, it appears that his Will Refining Technique has advanced another step?”

The surprise in Suis’ voice prompted Angel to look his way.

“Perhaps it’s due to the recent application of the Tide Spider Antidote, but I can sense that his mental strength has slightly increased. He has really pushed his Will Refining Technique to the limit.” Suis said in amazement, “Leon’s resilience is truly rare among mortals.”

“So you’re saying that my brother’s mental strength has reached 11 points now?” Angel asked.

Suis nodded, “Yes, the upper limit for the advancement of the Will Refining Technique is 3 points, and it’s only suitable for mortals. Leon’s rise from 8 to 11 is indeed rare.”

“After all this, it seems it wasn’t all bad.” Eureka added, “Increasing one’s mental strength isn’t easy at all.”

Angel too, shared in the surprise. Indeed, every cloud has a silver lining. However, while Angel was happy for Leon, he still wished that such incidents could be less frequent in the future.

At three in the morning.

Angel finally managed to settle Leon down again. The knights who had initially departed in search of Leon, along with head maid Mana, had also returned upon receiving news of the situation.

Mana looked at Leon lying on the bed, his face deathly pale and weak, her expression filled with concern.

“Be at ease, the doctor has assured us that Leon’s condition is merely a weakness, nothing more critical. He just needs a few days of rest,” Angel tried to comfort Mana.

Tears streaked down Mana’s face as she stammered, “When I learned of the Viscount’s disappearance near the Dread Mountain Waterfall, I was horrified… it reminded me of…”

Her words faltered, leaving the sentence hanging in the air.

Angel knew whom Mana intended to refer to. Sixteen years ago, during a bitterly cold winter – perhaps the coldest that the Pat Mansion had ever experienced – a beautiful woman named Hypatia tragically fell into the tributary of Dread Mountain Waterfall. Though she was swiftly rescued, the prolonged exposure to the cold water inflicted lingering complications.

Hypatia clung on for two weeks, but ultimately succumbed to her condition.

Hypatia was the wife of Old Pat, and the mother of Angel and Leon.

Mana’s immediate association of Hypatia’s unfortunate accident with the Dread Mountain tributary, and her desperate search for Leon, heedless of her own safety, was a testament to her terror of history repeating itself.

“All will be well,” Angel reassured, though he was uncertain whether his words were meant for Mana or to comfort himself.

Mana chose to stay in Leon’s room to care for him, while Angel took his leave. Firstly, Leon required ample rest, best undisturbed by a crowd. Secondly, the arrival of Suis necessitated understanding his stance.

The grand living room, still gleaming in gold, hosted Suis and Eureka seated on the couch. While no words were spoken, a palpable resonance filled the air.

Eureka seldom frequented the main castle due to the multitude of commoners that she preferred not to interact with. She usually stayed in the hanging loft or sought solitude near the Demeter.

Today, however, her presence in the main castle was surprising. Angel knew, they were waiting for him.

Indeed, as Angel entered the living room, Suis gestured towards the other end of the couch, indicating for Angel to take a seat.

As Angel seated himself, Eureka, seated opposite him, raised an eyebrow, “Angel, you’ve been quite secretive. Mastering alchemy as you have, it’s astonishing that you’ve shown no signs in the half a year since your return.”

Eureka’s words had been anticipated by Angel when he began crafting potions. However, Angel had thought that Eureka’s personality would translate into an attitude of annoyance. Unexpectedly, he didn’t sense much anger in her tone, but rather a teasing banter.

“I never hid anything. I’ve just been so busy dealing with Jon’s issues after returning that I didn’t have the time or the mindset to practice alchemy,” Angel explained.

“What you say makes sense, indeed you were more concerned about Jon’s affairs,” Eureka paused, her words taking a turn, “Since you can do alchemy, then…”

Angel assumed Eureka was about to ask him to concoct a potion for her.

However, Eureka stated, “Since you broke Blaire’s glasses last time, you should take responsibility.”

Taken aback, Angel remembered when he had just returned, the owl Blaire indeed wore a monocle. However, it had been broken during a skirmish later on.

Angel pondered and eventually nodded. Crafting a pair of glasses for Blaire to wear was not an issue.

After voicing her thoughts, Eureka remained silent. Suis, who had maintained his silence till now, spoke up, “I heard from Silai that you acquired a Dreamweaver Ant for Jon?”

Angel thought to himself: Here it comes.

“It was just to give Jon a good dream,” Angel casually stated.

Suis nodded, “Allowing Jon to dream, then you entering his dreams. I hadn’t considered such a method of communication.”

“Having not seen Jon for a while and just so happening to know a few tricks about dreams, I had to think outside the box,” Angel deflected calmly, diverting the topic away from ‘dreams’, “Jon’s health is still deteriorating and we haven’t been able to find a solution. Does Lord Suis have any suggestions on how to save Jon?”

“I just checked on him. Currently, all we can do is maintain his Three-State Balance. As for a solution, I didn’t find any clues during my recent journey,” Suis paused, “Perhaps, you could try seeking Master Midora. I noticed that you have Midora’s alchemy manual, so you should know him, correct?”

“We’ve met a few times, but I wouldn’t say we’re close,” Angel responded, “Unless it’s the last resort, I don’t want to publicize Jon’s situation. Lord Suis, what are your thoughts?”

“I respect your opinion. However, if you truly want to save Jon, publicizing his situation would be much easier than trying to solve it on your own,” Suis’s words elicited a sense of doubt in Angel’s mind.

Suis was always supposed to have a particular affection for Jon, even Eureka had said before, that Suis values Jon more than she does. However, Suis’s response today didn’t seem to be as Eureka described it.

On the contrary, it felt more amicable.

“If you need anything, feel free to come to me.” That was the last thing Suis said on the topic of Jon.

As Angel was still puzzled about why Suis’s attitude towards Jon was different than he had expected, Suis abruptly stood up.

“I have a matter that requires your counsel, but this isn’t the place to discuss it.” After saying this, Suis walked up to Angel, reaching out to lightly touch his shoulder.

An odd force radiated from Angel’s shoulder. Simultaneously, his vision blacked out, and the next moment, he found himself in an eerie realm.

Chaos reigned above and below, with Angel suspended in the heart of this realm.

He glanced around, perplexed. Although this place resembled a chaotic cosmos, the spatial expanse was surprisingly limited, giving a claustrophobic feel.

“This is the Exile Space. The safe zone that he can create is only this big, so make do.” Eureka’s crimson-tipped fingers, accompanied by a fragrant breeze, landed on Angel’s shoulder.

Turning his head, Angel saw Eureka had also materialized in this realm.

“Exile Space?” Angel echoed the unfamiliar term with confusion. Having never heard of it and with Eureka offering no explanation, he had to suppress his curiosity. He had no idea why Suis brought him here. However, it’s best to keep silent when in unfamiliar circumstances.

At that moment, Suis was right in front of Angel.

Angel noticed that Suis’s expression had darkened compared to before, and it seemed to be growing increasingly darker.

What was happening? Everything was fine just moments ago. Could it be that Suis brought him in here to intimidate him, or even to murder him to silence him?

Imagining various gruesome outcomes, a chill started to creep into Angel’s heart.

However, Angel quickly came to understand the cause of Suis’ grim expression. With assertive strides, Suis marched up to Angel, extending his strong, well-defined hand. In one swift movement, he grasped Eureka’s hand which rested on Angel’s shoulder and tugged her into his embrace.

“What are you doing?” Eureka roughly pushed Suis away, massaging her own hand. “You’re so rough; are you picking a fight?”

“Nothing much,” Suis’ face softened from a frown to a faint smile. “I just thought this position suits you better.”

Angel remained silent, guessing that Suis might have been exhibiting signs of jealousy.

Once their playful bickering concluded, Suis turned his attention back to Angel, bringing up the real issue. “I brought you here because there is something I want to ask you.”

“What is it?”

From his personal space, Suis produced an extravagant crown radiating a crimson glow and placed it before Angel.

Angel’s pupils contracted, his expression darkening slightly.

“Do you recognize this?”

Of course, he recognized the object in Suis’ hand because it was a crown he himself had crafted.

Suis was puzzled by Angel’s strange expression but continued his monologue regardless. “This is a counterfeit of Scarlet Sovereignty, Eliza mentioned you crafted it, is that correct?”

Angel affirmed, “Yes, that’s correct.” Not only had he crafted it, but he had also exhausted all his efforts in reconstructing the magic formation on the Scarlet Sovereignty. Eliza’s reaction at the time was, ‘Ah? These traces are runes? I thought they were just ordinary patterns, hahaha——’
