On the journey back to Phantom Island, Angel was lost in contemplation over Rhine’s proposition. Rhine suggested that while he didn’t possess a direct method of reaching out to Sanders, there was a possibility of conveying the message through an intermediary.

In a week’s time, the Frost Moon Alliance was scheduled to visit the Savage Grottoes for the seventh round of frontline supplies exchange. At that point, a wizard from the Grottoes would accompany the supplies to the frontline of the Abyss. Rhine suggested that Angel could find this wizard and request him to carry the message.

The name of this wizard was not unfamiliar to Angel.

‘Violent Thorn’ Madeline.

She was a recent addition to the Savage Grottoes, having joined under her personal capacity. Originally, she was part of a wizard family in the Guman Kingdom. Due to certain unforeseen circumstances, she ended up joining the Savage Grottoes after a series of twists and turns. Moreover, she was the mentor of Babaya.

As Angel pondered on it, he felt that if the price was right, Madeline would most likely agree to carry the message. After all, from Madeline’s perspective, this was a minor favor. Many apprentices would offer magic crystals to formal wizards for their blessing while using the teleportation formation, and this was essentially the same thing.

However, if he decided to send the message through a third party, Angel would have to avoid directly mentioning the matters related to Jon and the Wilderness of Dreams. Instead, he would have to ask Sanders to contact him directly.

But there was the question of whether Sanders would reach out to him, and when he would do so. If the wait was too long, he was unsure if Jon’s physical body would withstand the strain.

This dilemma left Angel in a quandary.

He recalled a recent conversation in the High Cloud Tower when he learned from Rhine that the best he could do was to relay the message. After pondering on it for a while, he cautiously asked Rhine, “Are there no other options?”

“This is the best method,” Rhine responded.

After struggling inwardly for a moment, Angel asked again, “Can I… accompany them to the Abyss?”

Rhine Mute wore a look of puzzlement as he queried, “Presently, none are eager to venture into the Abyss, so why are you set on stirring the hornet’s nest? Is your errand that pressing?”

“Indeed, it is,” Angel retorted without a shred of hesitation.

Rhine himself was not keen on Angel braving the Abyss; after all, Angel was a valuable asset in the alchemy world and safety was paramount. Yet, every wizard was inherently free, and one could never truly grow if forever cocooned within an ivory tower. Thus, Rhine was caught between a rock and a hard place; Angel could journey anywhere, but the unpredictability of the current Abyss was immensely concerning. No one could anticipate when Mengke might act, and once he did, the Abyss would become the most dangerous of lairs.

Possessing such a sinister strength, Mengke could perhaps annihilate all outsiders with a mere incantation.

Nevertheless, witnessing Angel’s unwavering stance, Rhine thought for a moment before conceding, “I suppose there’s no reason you can’t go, but the Abyss teems with danger. If you truly choose to venture there, it would be best to extract yourself post-haste.”

Now, Angel had two options before him: either allow Madeline to carry his message and await Sanders’ voluntary contact, or journey to the Abyss himself and return with Madeline when she ventured back to the Savage Grottoes.

Angel himself was unsure about which path to tread, but when viewed through the lens of safety, dispatching a message was naturally the most secure route. This was Angel’s initial inclination, but upon further deliberation, the stakes appeared too unpredictable.

While Angel was mired in contemplation, he spotted a group of figures rushing by, hovering on flying broomsticks, who grazed past him.

Now, Angel employed the illusion transformation in tandem with the initiation of Boundless Silence; hence, even though this group spotted Angel, they unconsciously disregarded him.

However, as they passed him, Angel inadvertently overheard fragments of their conversation.

“The power of Master Seran is truly terrifying. The vat of demonic blood that was concocted throughout the night… exhausted in just a few hours…”

“Indeed, and each rune gleams so brilliantly that we dare not approach.”

“We were commenting about restless hearts before, but the moment Master Seran arrived, everyone was instantly reassured. No wonder the higher-ups weren’t worried when the spatial anomaly occurred earlier.”

The group hastily departed in the direction of the short-distance teleportation formation.

Having gleaned from their earlier discourse, Angel discerned that they were likely on a mission to deliver resources to a certain Master Seran residing outside the Mirror World.

This “Master Seran” was a persona he initially learned about through Rhine Mute. He hailed from a wizarding organization known as the “Breezy Valley,” and was a prominent rune master in the Southern Region, his name resonating with respect.

With the imminent merging of planes, spatial abnormalities mushroomed, and the Savage Grottoes were conveniently nestled in the heart of the Paramjit Plateau, thus highly vulnerable to these disturbances. The terrifying catastrophe of spatial rifts occurring around the Mirror World would spell doom for the Savage Grottoes.

Coupled with the slumbering Mirror Lady, this served only to augment the trepidation among the many apprentices.

However, just a few days prior, this renowned Master Seran from the Southern Region had been invited to the Savage Grottoes, where he would craft a magic formation to stabilize the space outside the Mirror World. With the aid of this master, the Mirror World was, of course, safe from harm.

When Rhine relayed this news to Angel, he mentioned, “If you wish to deepen your understanding of rune studies, I could arrange for you to assist Master Seran.”

Angel declined the offer with a shake of his head. Had it been at a different time, he would undoubtedly have accepted. But now, it was not feasible.

Regarding Master Seran’s visit, Angel didn’t harbor many thoughts. However, he seized this opportunity to inquire Rhine about the timeline for the planar fusion.

Indeed, Rhine couldn’t affirm with complete certainty, but based on the current scenario, the juncture of the two worlds’ fusion would probably occur in about half a month.

Seeing Angel’s interest in the timing of the fusion, Rhine assumed Angel also wished to meddle in this affair and subtly attempted to dissuade him.

Angel was well aware of his limitations, and naturally would not venture into impossible endeavors.

His contemplation was centered on the fact that according to Rhine’s estimation, he would need to depart from the Savage Grottoes within the span of half a month at the very least. Otherwise, he risked revealing the existence of the Heavenly Eye inadvertently.

His departure meant he would undoubtedly need to leave the Paramjit Plateau, and ideally the further away, the better. This was due to his ignorance concerning the extent of the Heavenly Eye’s radiation range. However, he hadn’t yet decided upon a specific destination.

In fact, Angel harbored a hypothesis in his heart:

Deciding to part ways, why not sever the ties entirely and venture forth to another plane, far removed from the Wizarding World?

Yet when considering other planes, the Abyss may be a viable alternative, at least there he could face Sanders directly. Moreover, in a week’s time, he could depart alongside Madeline, thereby ensuring a certain degree of safety.

Furthermore, Angel’s journey into the Abyss could test whether the Wilderness of Dreams could transcend the limitations of the world.

Angel weighed the alternatives in his heart.

Staying in the Wizarding World wouldn’t necessarily lead to receiving Sanders’ oral message promptly, and he’d have to actively dodge the fusion of planes. The singular advantage would be relative safety.

Following Madeline into the Abyss could facilitate a timely conversation with Sanders. However, the downside lay in potential danger.

Angel spent three full days in hesitation.

In the end, he opted to personally venture into the Abyss.

Perhaps the Abyss bristled with dangers, but he was not without resources. At the very least, his skills in evasion were top-notch. Besides, with Madeline by his side and Frost Moon’s escort team around, safety was significantly enhanced.

According to his knowledge, in this past year, the Frost Moon Alliance had conducted seven rounds of resource transportation to and from the Abyss, making them well-versed in the route. Given the wizards’ logistical capabilities, even unexpected variables should fall within predictable parameters.

Additionally, this time, he was merely accompanying Madeline to deliver supplies, not intending to stay in the Abyss. If he withdrew as soon as possible, the dangers should not be significant.

Having made up his mind, Angel was steadfast in his decision. He personally penned a letter, entrusting it to Butler Goode to deliver to Madeline.

A day later, Angel received Madeline’s reply: Agreed.

Upon receiving the response, Angel immediately prepared to pay a visit to Madeline. However, upon arriving at Madeline’s residence, he did not find her. Instead, he encountered Babaya, whom he had not seen in quite some time.

According to Babaya, her mentor had departed, and she was clueless about her destination.

There was no choice left for him but to abandon his visit.

It wasn’t often he got to see Babaya, so Angel didn’t hurry to depart, taking time to chat with her about Granny Babaya’s recent circumstances. He also subtly inquired about Madeline’s character from Babaya.

While Angel was conversing with Babaya, in the High Cloud Tower at the very pinnacle of the Mirror World, Rhine was engaged in a conversation with Madeline.

“I never expected Angel to actually venture into the Abyss.”

The empty voice echoed through a room filled with crystal balls.

Rhine paused in thought before addressing Madeline, “Since he’s already set his course, we should honor his decision. However, he’s indeed a rare alchemy talent from our Savage Grottoes, so I hope you can ensure his safety.”

Madeline was a clever woman.

Upon receiving Angel’s letter, she immediately sought Rhine. The latter’s earlier action of inviting Angel to the High Cloud Tower had already caught the attention of other wizards within the organization. Rhine’s overt conduct had made it abundantly clear how much importance he placed on Angel.

Moreover, the intrinsic value of Angel was indeed worth this level of attention.

Therefore, Madeline approached Rhine. After gaining a general understanding of Rhine’s attitude, Madeline sent her reply to Angel.

Madeline responded, “Given that my own safety is ensured, I will pay extra attention to Angel.”

Rhine nodded, acknowledging that Angel possessed the Gravity Lines, his speed at escape was admirable, thus his safety on the journey shouldn’t be a concern.

“Once you’ve delivered the supplies there, you should hasten your return. After all, even if Lord Mengke remains civil, the Abyss is no place for sanctuary.”

“I understand.” Madeline nodded in agreement.

After discussing Angel’s situation, Rhine shifted gears: “I am aware of your voluntary desire to venture into the Abyss…”

In the blink of an eye, two more days passed.

Throughout this period, Angel was immersed in sorting out his bracelet, purchasing corresponding items from the Resource Hall, and hauling various supplies into the Wilderness of Dreams during his spare time.

After all, nobody could predict what twists and turns might lurk within this expedition into the Abyss, and the Wilderness of Dreams may not necessarily provide a dimensional bridge. Therefore, he had to take advantage of his current stay in the Wizarding World to supplement Initial Heart City with all sorts of resources, mitigating any potential issues.

Once he was nearly done with his preparations, the arrival of the Frost Moon Alliance was fast approaching.

After a moment of contemplation, Angel decided to use this brief period to pay a visit to David.
